Refugees Welcome in StorringtonBritain is a Christian country, and Storrington is a Christian village. We are ready to offer help, support and accommodation to Syrian refugees until they can be found their own accommodation and jobs. We don't want Britain to be the kind of country, or Storrington the kind of village, that turns its back as people drown in their desperation to flee places like Syria. So let's stand up for Britain's long tradition of helping refugees fleeing war. Let's show the Prime Minister that we, the people of the UK, are proud to do our part and provide refuge to people in their hour of need. Refugees Welcome in Colliers WoodDavid Cameron announced we’ll welcome 20,000 more Syrian refugees. But there’s a catch. This will take 5 years, leaving thousands of refugees in limbo. It’s now up to us to show that in cities, towns and villages all across the country we’re ready to welcome people now. Aylan, the toddler who drowned fleeing Syria, was just three years old. His town was under attack by Isis. His five year old brother and his mum also died trying to reach safety. We don't want Britain to be the kind of country that turns its back as people drown in their desperation to flee places like Syria. I will home a refugeeWe have all seen and been shocked by the recent refugee crisis, the thousands of people fleeing war, risking theirs and their children’ lives to cross the seas. Only to arrive in Calais, where the British Media has been painting these people as illegal migrants, who are only a drain on our resources. But we, the British people have been illustrating in droves that this is not how we see things- that these are people, just like us, who deserve to find safety. Many of us have taken over supplies to keep these people as fed and warm as possible, but tents are not a sustainable solution as the winter months loom. All across the country, we are signing petitions declaring the refugees are welcome in our towns. But, politicians are still insisting that Britain, one of the most privileged countries in the world, does not have the resources to take on these people in such desperate situations right here on our doorstep. Lets go a step further and prove that we can. If we can get even as half as many signatures as there are refugees in Calais, we can give politicians an irrefutable argument that there is space and that when the Government fails to act, ordinary citizens will.12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sapphire & Scarlet Allard & Sherriff
