Speed Calming Measures in Harpsden Road, Wilson Avenue and Watermans RoadThe residents need peace of mind and relaxation at night so speed calming measures need to be put in place to stop our cars being damaged or written off, animals being killed and prevent the injury or death of a child as a result of people constantly excessively speeding, motorbikes doing wheelie's and mainly driving like lunatics. Our roads are used as a quick cut through, with vehicles usually driving faster than the 30 mph speed limit on a regular basis, in an attempt to beat the traffic on the busy Reading Road and then used as race tracks at night. The result of this behaviour is lots of damage to vehicles and losses of beloved animals. My daughter's car that she didn't know she had was written of by a speeding driver who fled the scene leaving no details early hours of 1st October 2017, as reported in the Henley Standard. Numerous cars have been side swiped or had wing mirrors damaged by speeding vehicles and we sit and listen to the screeching of brakes and await the bang of the collision on a regular basis in the evenings. I personally have witnessed a couple of cyclists being knocked off their bike's and motorcyclists doing wheelie's or tricks up the road, animals being hit and killed while the driver carries on their way without stopping. This needs to stop!!! It was bad enough when the road was covered in potholes but since it has been resurfaced it has become 10 times worse at least. It is only a matter of time before it becomes a pedestrian that is badly/critically injured.160 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Helen Pitcher

Awareness of RohingyaThis is greatly important as Burmese leader Aung San Suu Kyi has been denying any mistreatment of the Rohingya muslims. Whereas in fact the situation is like a ethnic cleansing with mass murders occuring effortlessly by soldiers. A breach of basic human rights is an understatement as the Rohingya are being slaughtered soley on their choice of religion, which is atrocious. If our MP can bring this situation to eyes of Parliament, aid can be sent to refugees fleeing Burma and ultimately the government can add to the international pressure being applied on Burma to open their borders so aid can be sent for the oppressed still hiding and living within the country.109 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Saadat Kamali

Review preparations for dealing with a nuclear convoy accidentNuclear warheads are regularly transported in convoys on public roads to and from the atomic weapon factories at Aldermaston and Burghfield, and RNAD Coulport on Loch Long, where the weapons are stored and loaded onto Trident submarines. A nuclear warhead contains radioactive material AND high explosive and this poses serious questions about public safety. Nukewatch has published a report ‘Unready Scotland’ based on the very unsatisfactory answers to a survey of all the Local Authorities that these convoys pass through. The Civil Contingencies Act requires Category 1 Responders (including Local Authorities) to conduct a risk assessment of potential threats and to keep the public informed. It also makes the Scottish Government responsible for making sure that Local Authorities comply. If there was a serious accident the Ministry of Defence would look after the nuclear weapon. Local Councils, Emergency Services and the Health Service would be responsible for potentially contaminated casualties, evacuating people nearby and advising many more to stay indoors. Nukewatch’s survey finds that many councils don’t know anything about these convoys. We want the Scottish Government to openly review how prepared the civil authorities are and inform the public about their findings. Then the people of Scotland can decide whether this transport poses an unacceptable risk.774 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Nukewatch UK

Stop Trump's state visit to the UKThe UK must show itself to be above Trump's racism. To retain the invitation legitimises him and diminishes our country in the eyes of the world. We should be taking a principled stand against him, not welcoming him with a fanfare. Furthermore it is an embarrassment to HM The Queen, who lived through the second world war, to ask her to stand side by side with a President who's soft on Nazis and White Supremacists. Donald Trump regularly undermines values that our country holds dear - gender and racial equality, human rights, religious freedom, freedom of the press and preservation of the environment amongst others. He should not be given the prestige of a full state visit.43,539 of 45,000 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Stanbridge

CALL FOR THE REMOVAL OF TRIDENT FROM SCOTLAND TO COMPLY WITH THE UN BAN TREATYOn the 7th of July 2017 at the UN Headquarters in New York a global treaty banning nuclear weapons was adopted by a clear majority of UN member states. 122 member states voted for it, and only one voted against. The treaty will be open for signature by governments on September 20th 2017 and when it has been signed and ratified by fifty of the member states, those that join the treaty will be bound to prohibit any possession, use or threat with nuclear weapons. They will also be bound by law not to assist any other state in these activities, including states that do not sign up. The UK has said that it will not sign. Please request that your MSP and/or First Minister Nicola Sturgeon speak out firmly and publicly to the UK Government before the 20th September, and declare that Trident is even less welcome in Scotland when its legitimacy is challenged across the world. When you write to your MP or MSP, here is an easy ask. Ahead of the negotiations for the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) enlisted support from 856 parliamentarians in 42 countries. Now ICAN is seeking parliamentarians' support the new Parliamentary Pledge – a commitment to work for the signature and ratification of the treaty. This is an ideal tool for us in Scotland to exerting pressure on the UK government who failed to participate in the negotiations and to highlight the wall to wall opposition to nuclear weapons in Scotland . Parliamentarians at Westminster or Holyrood can add their names to the Pledge by emailing [email protected] or using this link. ICAN's website will let the world see what Scottish Parliamentarians think. The form is here http://www.icanw.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Parliamentary-Pledge.pdf?mc_cid=3b0ad99bfc&mc_eid=3b378b7aa3 It's just over a month until the treaty opens for signature. Let's work hard to have a large number of parliamentarians on board by then. http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/news/Blogs/makingwaves/nuclear-weapons-banned-historic-UN-treaty/blog/59807/?utm_campaign=Twitter&utm_source=Link&utm_medium=US http://www.cnduk.org/images/stories/Trident_and_International_Law.pdf5,926 of 6,000 SignaturesCreated by Garry Uí Mhaoilmhichil

Release Brian Quail and Angela ZelterProtesting pensioners Brian Quail and Angela Zelter have been thrown in jail after refusing to accept a court order banning them from campaigning outside a nuclear arms base. Quail, a 79-year-old retired Latin teacher, is being kept in HMP Low Moss, while 66-year-old Zelter has been remanded in Corton Vale. The two were arrested by police for taking part in a blockade of the nuclear warhead store at Coulport on Loch Long as part of the Trident Ploughshares “week of disruption”. The veteran campaigners and three others were offered bail at Dumbarton Justice of the Peace Court on Wednesday, but only if they agreed to not go “within 100m of the perimeter fence or shoreline of HMS Naval Base Clyde, Faslane”. Quail and Zelter refused to accept those conditions and will be kept behind bars until their court date on August 3. The National4,493 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Gary Kelly

A FULL BAN ON HARMFUL SUBSTANCES (ACID)There has been a great increase in the UK of acid attacks on innocent individuals. Those people have suffered severe burns all over their bodies with substantial facial disfigurement. The injuries the victims have are life changing and have a severe negative impact on both physical and mental health. The purpose of these attackers is to spread terror and fear amongst the general public causing people not to leave their homrs and changing their daily lifestyles. It's vital that the government introduces a strong ban on such substances.353 of 400 SignaturesCreated by TABREZ HUSSAIN
