• STOP "Selective" Humanity Reports on MEDIA
We want the FULL TRUTH, visible and standing next to each other as Parisians are equal to Lebanese and Palestinians as ALL of us are HUMANs and suffer equally. Angelina Jolie posted about the ISIS attack in Lebanon which didn't receive any media coverage (see: https://www.facebook.com/OF.Angelina/photos/a.127159833963497.22403.127098593969621/1137146722964798/?type=3&fref=nf) Look at the current BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news Can you find anything about Lebanon, other ISIS hit regions and daily Palestinian sufferings?

  • Respond to Paris attacks by welcoming Syrian refugees
Welcoming more refugees from Syria would be a beautiful and fitting memorial to those who were murdered in Paris, by reaching out to help these other victims of IS's violence. It would demonstrate the stark contrast between our bravery and compassion, and IS's corwardice and brutality. It would send a clear, defiant message that the UK will not bow to terrorism and will not give in to fear.

  • Vote to create peace and stability in the World
The West has, by its political and military activities, dramatically reduced the safety and security of people around the World and has created the refugee crisis. These activities have significantly increased the escalation of tensions between countries and religious groups and brought about an increase in violence everywhere.

  • Stop the Trade Unions Bill
Yesterday, our MPs debated the Trade Union Bill again. And the Government won. The Bill passed with 305 votes for, and 271 against. This is devastating news - but the fight goes on. As the debate moves to the House of Lords, we need to highlight the attack on democracy that is contained in the Bill. The Conservative party want to be in power for a generation, and are fixing the system to make that happen. They’re making it harder to register to vote, and are redrawing the Parliamentary map in a way that benefits them. The Bill is seeking to impose limits on minimum returns and vote percentages of total membership, for those seeking to take industrial action. This reeks of rank hypocrisy from a Government who only polled just less than 25% of the electorate, yet they deem that a clear mandate to continue with their ever more punitive and regressive policy making But that’s not all. Hidden in the Trade Union Bill is a clause that is deliberately designed to restrict trade unions supporting the Labour Party financially - while doing nothing to limit the hedge funds and millionaires that support the Tories. Another clear case of "Do as we say, Not as we do!"

  • Make it a criminal offence to deliberately lie Or miss lead in the House of Parliament
Currently it is not an offence to lie or mislead in the House of Parliament. I think if this was a criminal offence the lies and misleading would stop.

  • Allow the north of England to secede from the UK & join Scotland
The deliberations in Westminster are becoming increasingly irrelevant to the north of England. The northern cities feel far greater affinity with their Scottish counterparts such as Glasgow and Edinburgh than with the ideologies of the London-centric south. The needs and challenges of the north cannot be understood by the endless parade of old Etonions lining the frontbenches of the House of Commons. The north of England should join the newly independent Scotland and regain control over its own destiny. We, the people of the north, demand that in the event that Scotland becomes independent the border between England and the New Scotland be drawn along a line that runs between the River Dee and the mouth of The Humber (see map). #TakeUsWithYouScotland

  • The UK needs to do more to help with the refugee Crisis
I am an A Level citizenship student and I feel the UK needs to do more to help with the refugees Crisis, focusing on Syria. I understand there is a lot of aid being sent, but in there situation what they really need is shelter and safety and not be abandoned on the sides of roads in makeshift camps such as the jungle camp in Calais. I am working closely with a team of dedicated persons acting on our assignment of completing some active citizenship. We would like to get at least one hundred signatures to show that our local area feels that change is needed. After We achieve the required amount of signatures we will compile a letter and send it to Christopher Chope(Christchurch MP) asking him to use his powers in the House of Commons to bring around change.

  • Make Britain Great again
This is the single most important issue in the world, as it is the first step to fixing all other issues. Because if governments were honest, with only the interests of their own citizens at heart, then at least 50% of the campaigning done here would not be necessary, giving more time and funds to concentrate on the remaining problems around the world. There has been far too much (proven) crime and corruption in our government for many years, but it seems that they are above the law and untouchable, having very rarely received any punishment. I believe that this is wrong. I think that those that are trusted with a position of power should face much tougher penalties than average individual when that power is abused. The government needs to be FULLY open and honest, without hidden agendas or secret meetings behind closed doors. Stop changing laws to suit only themselves, making it almost impossible to remove them from power - even when proven to be corrupt. Government should be held accountable for its mistakes and crimes and there should be processes in place to follow this through and remove them from power where necessary. The people seem to have forgotten, our government was put there to serve us, not the other way around!

  • Keep "Women's hour" on BBC Radio 4
As I've got older I have learned to appreciate radio more than I previously did and with BBC having such a wide variety of different radio stations there is one which i have become more accustomed too in my older age and if your moving on through the years as i am, you will know what BBC radio station i'm talking about. Yes radio 4. I started on radio 1, worked my way to 2, skipped 3 and have comfortably landed on 4 all because one day at work (while painting) I thought why don't i learn a thing or two of whats happening around me while I'm working, so I did and so i write this. I mean there is a never ending list of great television shows and radio shows but for me there is one which stands out taller then the rest, and believe it or not its "women's hour". I was raised by strong women and i'm also currently with one and i know how much strength and character it takes to fight for everything you want in this world. So to hear women talk on political , historical, present day or sexual issues i feel it is of the up most importance. Its something we can all learn from especially men like me. So lets not just save women's hour but the bbc as a whole.

  • Save the BBC!
The BBC has been respected and appreciated across the whole world for decades, but is now being threatened by politicians with only a short term in power. We cannot allow the short term interests of the political world to diminish our loved British Broadcasting Company. Through disability I am at home most days and *find myself watching, listening or on the Internet with the BBC. The tiny 40 pence a day I am paying for the licence fee seems such outstanding value for money. It will be awful to find any further reductions in the material they provide. Please join in with me to tell David Camerorn to spend his remaining time improving Britain and not destroying our best.

  • Hold a referendum on the proposed South East Dorset "super council"
A price cannot be put on democracy, and the views of those you are elected to serve should be your primary focus. You must allow the residents of Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and East Dorset to have a say in the proposed council merger particularly as it will affect our services.

  • Don't give our homes away
The Housing and Planning Bill 2015-2016 includes measures to sell "high value" council homes in St Albans off to the highest bidder. The government have not defined what is meant by the term "high value" and won't do so until after the bill is passed. Housing charity Shelter have estimated that using a standard definition of "high value" would mean the loss of approximately 60% of the council homes in St Albans or 2993 homes. The money from the sale of these properties will be handed over to the government, with the local council keeping a tiny fraction. If the homes are sold for an average of £150,000 (a fraction of what they are likely to be sold for) then local tax payers will lose more than £500m. By signing this petition At a time of the worst housing crisis since the war, we need more housing not less. These plans will lead to a reduction of council stock and affordable housing to rent. UPDATE: New amendments to the bill tabled by the Secretary of State Greg Hands in January 2016 also make provision for Developers to nominate private companies to process their planning applications. We worry an individual or organisation that submits a planning application will be free to shop around for whichever alternative provider they think can give them the best chance of getting a planning application accepted. These idea has already been trialed in St Albans and experienced issues, we are also worried about the effect of any privatisation of the planning process on the engagement of local people in planning applications. Many companies may prioritise speed over quality in determining applications.
