  • URGENT - UK Withdrawal Bill To Dismiss Animals Sentience
Why should we let the government determine whether animals have feelings? WE live in a DEMOCRACY! The vote against their sentience should not have been a vote to begin with. Animals are intelligent, compassionate, emotional, sentient beings and it's up to to you to be their vote!

  • Save Dunstable Market
Dunstable is a historic market town and the charter belongs to the people not the council. We, the people wish to preserve our market and return it to the thriving trade centre it used to be. Generations of traders have kept the tradition alive and they are central to our community. This isn't about money, it is about the ethos of Dunstable as a market town. We demand that the council fulfil the will of the people and preserve the market in its current format and work to promote it and attract new traders.

  • To ban Alcohol consumption in the Scottish parliment
I feel that in todays climate it is totally unacceptable that we the public should subsidise the consumption of Alcohol in government buildings at a time when everyones belts are having to be tightened, I work in a zero tolerance industry where we cannot drink alcohol along with many other hard working taxpayers while on duty therefore if the Scottish government feel so strongly about driving up the minimum Alcohol price for health reasons they should lead by example and look closer to home. to that end we should ban the sale and consumption of Alcohol totally in government buildings.

  • Close down the bars in the House of Commons
Many people have blamed the years of sexual abuse and harassment in the House of Commons on the drinking culture and cheap subsidised alcohol. Modern workplaces would frown on the idea of workers being drunk on the job or at their desks. For many companies drinking during work hours would be a disciplinary offence. Why then is this acceptable in Westminster. Close the bars down and adopt a more modern professional 21st century working environment.

  • Support New Malden Farmers' Market
In order to move forward, we have found the only viable location, as is the case in other successful markets in neighbouring towns, is to relocate the market onto the High Street. We ask that the Neighbourhood Committee works with the organisers to help us in this regard to ensure the market can continue to be a community asset for the whole of New Malden.

  • Clamp down on tax avoidance in the UK
The ‘Paradise Papers’ are just the latest in a long line of tax scandals. The system, which is rigged to benefit the privileged few at the expense of everyone else, is broken. The impact on our public services of these corrupt practices, protected by a veil of secrecy, has been devastating. After seven years of austerity, it is time for irresponsible tax dodging to come to an end. HMRC, the government body tasked with policing the tax system, has seen its staff numbers and budget halved since it was formed in 2005. Meanwhile, the UK government has failed to take the opportunity to clean up the offshore system, in territories like Bermuda that are under its control, and make it harder for individuals and companies to avoid tax. It is little wonder that tax dodgers are taking advantage. Tax Justice UK, the country’s leading campaign organisation for a fairer tax system, is now calling for the UK government to take decisive action to end the scourge of tax avoidance, once and for all, by tightening up on enforcement and introducing new transparency rules.

  • Sign our petition calling for Michael Fallon to resign as MP for Sevenoaks
Michael Fallon has admitted, and through his resignation acknowledged, that his conduct is inappropriate in a cabinet minister, or as a representative of Britain’s armed forces. We are therefore surprised and disappointed that Michael Fallon, and the Conservative Party, appear to feel that the people of Sevenoaks are entitled to a lesser standard of conduct in their representative, and call on him to resign
