Ban greyhound racingOver many years the league has called for action to tackle the shocking cruelty and abuse in the greyhound racing industry.Time and time again, however, our calls have fallen on death ears. The industry has failed reform itself.Due to the fact far too many greyhounds continue to suffer unnecessaril. We are now calling for a phasing out of a cruel sport, leading to an outright ban. -Most spend 95% of their time in small kennels with no contact -Many are neglected, suffering from parasites and poor dental health -Those housed in pairs are often kept constantly muzzled -Only the fastest dogs are wanted by the industry and sadly, many dogs never make it past this stage and their fate is unknown. -more than 1000 were killed in 2017 because they were too I'll or unsuitable for rehoming -six to twelve thousand puppies need for greyhound racing go missing each year. Resources took from League of cruel sports. You can help us end this cruelty be signing today.98 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Bailey

Road Safety Measures for Long Road LawfordIt's important because it's an accident waiting to happen especially in the afternoon when there is no crossing patrol to help parents and children to cross this extremely busy road. My 3yr old daughter and in-laws were involved in a near miss crossing this road on 4/10/18. Following a message on social media I have found out in the last month since the school returned from summer break there have been at least three other near miss incidents and one child has been knocked over. A crossing has been talked about for years on this site but nothing has been done. With all the extra traffic created by the new housing estates in the area the situation is only going to get worse. We need Essex Highways to take action ASAP before a serious accident occurs.283 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Newman

No more plastic waste in the oceans and help clean it all upThe plastic in the ocean is set to double in the next 5 years! It's now already too much. It's now or never. The tipping point for plastic has been long over run now. Please watch this bbc documentary that was aired this week. Its a ticking time bomb that is fast running out. The dolphins and the fish and whales can't do it, so we have to! https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bmbn47/drowning-in-plastic Plastic is in the arctic, plankton at the bottom of the ocean, and has been found to transmit diseases to coral (only discovered a year ago) and potentially humans and all mammalian life.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nick de Meyer

New Youth Clubs For Peterborugh - UKThis is important because the amount of anti-social behaviour is increasing rapidly. This can also help reduce crime within the area if the younger generation are surrounded with a happy, more fun, environments where they can meet new people and try new things.122 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Haider Islam

Food WastageYoung and old people in our Country are living on the streets and in sheltered accommodation Who can't afford to feed themselves or their families While Britain ignores their plight inc Retailers who would rather dump the out of date products rather than give to those who are starving Why isn't it possible to deliver these goods to our Communities to be shared equally amongst the poor This is why I have started this petition I am so angry at the waste I see when I am late shopping2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Heather Fairgrieve

ReFit - prominent traffic light recycling information on packagingThe current detailed recycling information on packaging (while necessary) is often complex, and doesn't allow the consumer to make rapid and informed judgements on packaging when shopping. The system will succeed because it is voluntary. The population will drive change through market forces. Companies who use environmentally friendly packaging will be keen to display the logo (and thus gain sales), companies using non-recyclable packaging could lose sales and will thus be encouraged to adopt recyclable packaging with a greater urgency. This scheme will work because it is simple. It's a rapid way to push through change without waiting for Government to legislate. There really can't be any excuses when it comes to the environment. 'ReFit' is a short form for 'Fit for Recycling'.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peter Brooks

Wembley must stay in English ownershipWhen everything worth having in the UK is being sold off to foreign investors it seems about right that Wembley Football Stadium will be added to the list. But no one seems to realize that its our proud heritage, the one place that all that is good in English football comes together, players and supporters alike, it belongs to Englands proud supporters!. It is said that it would be better to play England games at local Grounds to allow more people to gain access to the matches but nothing is said about Pride, Joy, experience and Atmosphere created all be it expensive taking into account travelling expenses and ticket costs for a very special day, its a day out to be remembered for years to come. As for Grass Roots Football I am sure that the Premiership teams would not miss a small percentage of the cash allocated by the FA each year if it given to the teams that could benefit from the extra money, and I do not think this will effect premier teams too much as it just means reducing huge payments to players by a small amount knowing that they are helping teams and supporters from the very pool that the future of English football comes from. Come on Greg Clarke and Martin Glenn football should not be all about making Money, surely there is room for Passion, Heritage, Tradition and our Football History!, not Greed. Leave Wembley Alone.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Osborn

Ban the importation of animal fur into UK100 million+ animals are killed for their fur every year and 30 million of those are killed in fur farms where the lives of these animals commonly end by having their necks broken, being gassed or being electrocuted. The gassing is not always effective, and animals are sometimes still alive while being skinned. The Agreement on International Trapping Standards is aimed at the protection of the practice of trapping of wild animals for their fur with ‘humane’ standards. However, the trapping of wild animals for their fur can never be benign, the standards set in this agreement fall well below humane standards defined by veterinarian experts in the UK.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Zahrah Azeem

Challenging the DBS systemThe DBS system is designed to show if people have convictions. Being homeless is not a crime. Within the care sector we cannot employ people without a DBS. Being homeless prevents people from being able to obtain a police record check which will prove that they are not a criminal. being homeless could happen to ANY if us and is NOT a crime. There is currently around 11,000 care vacancies in this country right now. Legislation needs to be changed to be more inclusive.25 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chrissie Medway Steel

Black plastic traysCurrently most black plastic is not recycled. Many local councils do not have the equipment to recycle it and therefore it goes to Landfill. Black plastic trays (used for meat, vegetables and ready-made meals) could easily be replaced with clear plastic trays which are recycled. Supermarkets continue to supply products to market over-packaged and worse in non-recyclable packaging with little regard for the environment. I am asking supermarkets to make a change and reduce the load to landfill. Please stop using black plastic trays.23 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vikki Rashid

Extend Glasgow Subway Timetable on Sunday'sIt's time that Glasgow Subway operates longer on Sundays rather then the short time of 10:00 - 18:00. This will be of huge benefit as more people are out on Sunday's and many other major cities in the UK including London Underground still have the system running till almost midnight on a Sunday so why should it that people have to rush from their shopping at Buchanan Street or St Enoch to catch the last train at 6pm on a Sunday otherwise having to resort to getting a bus which also has reduced frequency or spending a lot of money on a taxi instead. Its time for Glasgow Subway to get ahead of it's time with the current modernisation program and extend the time on Sunday so that people can spend a little more time in the town on Sundays12 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Aswad Choudhry
