• Keep Manchester Diabetes Centre on Hathersage Road
Many of the patients who attend Manchester Diabetes Centre have mobility issues. Not all but a considerable amount. Enforcing wheelchair users who have become accustomed to the large car park and one tier access are going to struggle in a busy hospital environment. The staff at the centre are always a constant, which gives people suffering with chronic illnesses some comfort and less feeling of anxiety.

  • Refusal to pay fees for graduation ceremony due to a lack of reimbursement from the strike action.
We have already paid a substantial amount of money to subsidise our learning and yet have not had the services that we paid for available to us. Our grades will be affected for a life time and we cannot get this time back. We deserve to at least receive a celebration considering we have paid £27,000 to attend Goldsmiths University and it is the least they can do.

  • Ban Horse Jump Racing
34 horses have died this year alone due to this cruel sport. These animals are bred for 1 purpose, to entertain humans. The same as fighting cocks, and vicious dogs. Our sport and our amusement, yet 2 of these are BANNED, why not not the other? Because it is a form of taxation for the British Government. It has to stop. It is cruel. 1668 Deaths in 4026 Days in the U.K. alone. Please share if you care.

  • Save Struan Lodge
Less than two years ago the Cowal and Bute communities made it clear that they strongly opposed the closure or Struan Lodge and Thomson Court respectively. It is simply immoral, unethical and unthinkable that vulnerable elderly residents and their families should have to be put through this cruel and stressful process once again. Our health and care services must be kept in public ownership for allmif us now and in future.

  • Introduce a cap on the number of properties individuals/companies can own
We are constantly reminded of the pressures in the need for housing which then adds pressure to greenfield and brown fields areas to be used for building. Areas of outstanding natural beauty and homes for wildlife and sanctuary for locals are then put under pressure and force until they too have to make way for houses. This cap would force the government to take control over individuals and companies who have a monopoly over properties and remove this shortsighted and environmentally devastating plan of building more and more houses (which will quickly be bought up by many individuals and companies with multiple properties) which the government has in plans. This plan is only to line pockets of the rich to become richer. This will provide homes, which exist already to people who need them, demand would reduce therefore homes would become more accessible to families and everyday people and force us to take responsibility as a nation for the environment around us.

  • Better changing facilities for disabled kids
Disabled children have a right to have publlic changing facilities where they can be changed with some dignity. The current facilities are none existent. Try changing a 5 year old on a baby changing table in a public toilet. It's not nice for you as an adult and certainly not the child. It's uncomfortable and undignified. Disabled kids have a right to privacy. I never realised how bad this situation was untill my nephew needed to use them.

  • Prostate Screening
Prostate cancer kills more men than women suffering from breast cancer. It is about time this discrimination was addressed. Early treatment can save lives and it isn't just old men who get it, but young men with with families to raise.

  • Dedicate a pillar at MK Rose to the creation of the NHS
The NHS will this year be celebrating its 70th birthday having been founded on July 5th 1948. For 7 decades the NHS has been treating the people of this country, from cradle to grave, regardless of their ability to pay and it regularly tops surveys asking people what makes them feel proud to be British. The NHS, since it was created, has achieved much. The NHS has delivered over 44 million (and counting) babies, carries out around 7 millions operations each year and treats more than 1 million patients every 36 hours. We are proud of our NHS, and would like to see its creation celebrated in Milton Keynes.

  • Keep Greenhaugh First School open
16 first schools are at risk of closure to fit in with a proposal from one Academy Trust. If you close these schools down 16 struggling rural communities will loose young families because they won't have a local school for their children. This will rip the heart out of our communities. Imagine living in an area with no children.

  • Petition to remove filthy phone boxes from outside Hove Station cafe
These two phone boxes are being used as toilets and are in an unsightly and smelly state. They are situated outside a pub and a cafe. The cafe staff have resorted to placing milk crates in the booths to deter further abuse of the phone boxes. There is a public pay phone 50 metres away in the station entrance.

  • Is Your Drinking Water Safe?
In the USA, glyphosate from Roundup has been found in the water table many miles from where it was applied to the land. This is contrary to the claims of Monsanto who disregard any adverse evidence from independent scientists of the toxicity of Roundup . Following the decision of the EU to renew the license for RoundUp for a further five years it is essential that the water in our reservoirs is routinely analysed and accurate levels of glyphosate ascertained both before and after filtration for two reasons. Firstly to ensure that the filtration system is working efficiently should there be any glyphosate detected in the water source and secondly to have an on- going record of any levels of contamination from "run off" from agricultural land to which Roundup has been applied. At present the Water authorities make their own risk assessment as to whether to test for the levels of glyphosate and AMPA (the breakdown product) . Sadly South West Water , the most expensive provider in the UK, serving Cornwall, Devon, and parts of Somerset and Dorset are upholding their decision NOT to test for this widely used and noxious chemical. Non profit making, Welsh Water by comparison test routinely and accurately for glyphosate and AMPA levels and make the figures freely available. It took four months of investigation to get the answer "No" to the question "Do SWWater test for glyphosate in their water supply?" It is time for legislation to make testing mandatory, followed hopefully by deprivatisation of all water authorities and a return to public ownership.

  • Save school dinners for our kids!!!
Because so many parents struggle. And as a child, my single mother had so little to live on, she had 8 children under the age of 12 Without free school meals we would have literally starved!!! and I'm not exaggerating!! Sign this and maybe the Tory's will listen and realise there are so many children out there, who, like me, looked forward to school dinners because it was the only dinner we got!!
