• Calling for a new UK bank holiday to celebrate under 25s
At The Mix, we know that under 25s are extremely talented, and care passionately about the world around them. We are privileged, through our work, to witness first-hand the strength and resilience of young people every day. It's important that as a society we embrace young people from all backgrounds, and nurture their potential as ultimately, they are the future of our country. Often the media narrative around young people can be very negative, focusing on crime, unemployment, or unattainable housing. We hope that a dedicated bank holiday will help to change the narrative around Generation Z into a positive one - STRONG and RESILIENT. In 2018, International Youth Day will come of age and celebrate its 18th anniversary. At The Mix we believe this anniversary is the perfect time to show our appreciation to the youngest members of our society. This petition is part of The Mix's #Stronger campaign, which aims to give under 25s the platform to tell their story and not be defined by mainstream media. • Ban the use of Non-Disclosure Agreements by Employers who have breached The Equalities Act
The Government want to get 1 million disabled people back in to work, but we as a community face bullying and harassment that is routinely covered up and victims gagged. I was bullied repeatedly and then bullied again to take the deal - threatened with no reference if I don't. I need to work, want to work and am very capable. British businesses have been negligent in my case and have paid me more than £100k to not go to tribunal. With no reference and a family to support, I had no choice but to take the deal, and nothing has changed. Settlement agreements have their place in business, but should not be used to gag victims of a crime. Employment tribunals should be available to hear these case and 'educate' businesses as best they can. NDA's are a cover-up, a way for a business to protect it's image and limit the damage. The human impact for me is so much greater, money can't fix it for me.

  • Ban Plastic Straws
Plastic straws, which are thrown away after one use, are non-biodegradable. This means that they pollute our oceans and harm our animals. We need to save our sea life, and stop innocent animals being killed every day due to pollution. I believe that they should be changed from plastic to paper (cardboard) or metal straws, which are so better for the environment.

  • MRI screening
People are having to fly hundreds of miles for an mri scan. Many people have suffered injuries and should not have to travel so far, especially as there are 2 mri machines in Raigmore hospital. Some people are not allowed to fly because of insurance purposes and a 9 hour journey by ferry then car/public transport is long. From my own experience I was told I wouldn’t be allowed on the plane as I could not bend my knee so my only other option was the ferry. I was really struggling with pain and there was no way I could spend that amount of time in a car, especially as I was struggling with really bad pain after being in the car for 20 minutes. It is unfair to ask patients to travel so far for a diagnosis. Some of the poorest countries in the world have far more advanced technology than the uk which doesn’t seem right. The cost of nhswi paying for flights for patients is ridiculous too, I know people go away for other things but surely having their own mri scanner would save them money in the long term.

  • William Wilberforce statue
Because there has been a lot in the media about modern day slavery & racism it is essential that what Wilberforce and his set achieved is remembered publicly & in the modern curriculum for school children to know as part of the fabric of their education.

  • Keep CRIME WATCH on TV
Because it helps to catch criminals, rapists, and paedophiles, so that they can be bought to justice and put away. Therefore it can be a safer place for us to live in, and give justice to victims and families who have lost loved ones.

  • Stop Excessive Data Usage Fees
Currently mobile data providers (Vodafone) let the consumer run up excessive bills and then take the money directly from their bank accounts. This is morally reprehensible.

  • Double red lines outside schools
The number of people parking on double yellow lines outside School is increasing. This puts children at risk. Make all councils put double red lines outside schools so there is no stopping. To increase the safety of children.

  • Local Post Office, Chiswick Station
The large retail and service operators like the Coop and the Post Office often seem to put profit maximisation ahead of convenience and service. The Coop claims to support communities and sustainability but if it does not maintain the existing Post Office in its new local store then it is not living up to what it claims is seeks to be. On the other hand the Post Office seems to want to make us only use big, centralised facilities which are souless, often not conveniently located ( particularly for the elderly) and usually very busy with long queues. It is time see some corporate common sense and reflection of community values and thus halt this relentless consolidation.

  • Open Deerpark Surgery in Witney
They care less that the other surgeries in Witney are now struggling with all the extra patients they had to take on. Now its 6-8 weeks to see a GP. Meantime more and more houses are being built in the vicinity of the Deerpark surgery. This means that a MINIMUM of 10.000 people will be wanting to sign onto a surgery. The local GPs are already overstretched and find it very difficult to see all patients, I myself have complex health problems and in 6 months I have seen my GP once. I have had to attend the surgery at other times and have experienced lack of care in no follow up and terse nurses, who are also under pressure. I am 72 and don't have any quality of care as I did with Deerpark. Not once had my BP checked or my Diabetes, both these were checked regularly before. I am also at serious risk of a heart attack or stroke, I just feel this could happen and no one will even care. All patients of the surgeries in Witney need to sign the petition as this affects them greatly too.

  • Bank refunds
There must be millions of pounds waiting to be refunded into accounts. If the money can be taken from bank accounts immediately, why can it not be refunded immediately. A lot of people need their money back and it seems in this day of technology ludicrous that people cannot get an immediate refund.
