• Stop pricing small electric cars off the road
Small electric cars like the Peugeot Ion, Mitsubishi iMiev and Citroën Zero, do not have large enough batteries to use a full 30 minute charge. The maximum range of these cars at motorway speeds is 50-60 miles. Fast chargers only charge the battery to 80%, so that is 40-48 miles. Allow 10 miles probably already in the battery at the start of the charge, and that's 30-38 miles for £6. Compare with an ordinary diesel car, doing about 60 mpg, where each gallon costs about £5.50, and you will see it costs about twice as much to run a small car charged at an Ecotricity charging point as it does to run a diesel car filled at a pump. On the other hand, if you charge the electric car at home, it costs about half as much to run as the diesel (even with full price green electricity).

  • Medal for Ebola Nurse Pauline Cafferkey
Ms Cafferkey selflessly risked her own life to leave the comfort of her home and care for sick and dying Ebola victims in Sierra Leone. After contracting the disease herself, she nearly died on two occasions but has bravely fought the disease and returned to her work as a nurse in Blantyre, Scotland. Her bravery and caring for others is truly exceptional and she deserves the recognition of our whole nation. She is a truly inspiring figure and role model for us all.

  • Maintain funding for Homeless and Disabled Supported Housing
The cuts to funding will hinder people with learning disabilities, who want to live independently, as well as homeless projects, potentially creating a Postcode lottery. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/dwp-disability-cuts-supported-housing-mencap-womens-refuges-homeless-hostels-a7309466.html#gallery Ministers say it is needed for efficiently, but picking on vulnerable members of society, will only increase problems further down the line. Steps to tackle corporate tax dodging would be a better way of making these savings. As someone who is disabled myself, I feel very strongly, that people like us should be able to live independently, and contribute to society, and not be made to feel we are being cast out. Growing up, I was made to feel a second class citizen by peoples attitudes, and have felt we have made a lot of progress through coverage of the Paralympics, being a great example.

  • Relocate Parliament to the Regions
Brexit demonstrated the disengagement many people feel from 'the Westminster bubble'.The state of northern cities - and seaside towns - has changed little in the decades since de-industrialisation; much of the north still feels like JB Priestley's 1930s account in his 'English Journey'. And yet the north has a fabulous heritage of Victorian buildings lying idle that people would die for in the south. The whole focus of the country's economy needs to move out of the overheated south east where housing is impossibly expensive for the younger generation and the infrastructure is groaning. If Bonn can move to Berlin, then London can move to Manchester or Liverpool & put their money where their mouth is on realising a 'northern powerhouse'. Democracy needs renewal - symbolised by a modern building that incorporates and renews a significant element of our built heritage. Something of the scale of Stanley Docks in Liverpool comes to mind.

  • Install traffic calming measures in Clunes Avenue, Caol
Clunes avenue is a residential are where many children play. A new School campus is only a matter of yards away. Too many cars are travelling at excessive speed on this road. It is only a matter of time before a child is injured or worse. By having traffic calming meaures such as speed bumps and 20 mph limit, this could potentially save a life.

  • Stop or Reduce the Increase in Tuition Fees at the University of Lincoln
Tuition Fees have already been trebled in the last 10 years, does the University really need to increase them even further. This, albeit smaller increase, seems to represent a trend of fees just increasing again and again. The increase of 250 pounds is a 2.8% rise that is supposedly in line with inflation. The Bank of England has predicted inflation to be 2.1% in 2017. So where has the 2.8% figure come from. If the University does not stop with this increase, I think students at least deserve a more in depth explanation as to why this increase is happening and greater transparency in where funding is going. For more explanation into my thoughts see http://lincolnshire.press/content/why-is-the-university-of-lincoln-raising-its-tuition-fees/

  • Energy watch
At present these cavernous buildings are freezing cold in winter and excessively hot in summer. For staff to be able to work in a comfortable temperature they require lots of heating in winter and cooling in summer. This is a great waste of limited energy resources. Insulating the buildings would cut down the waste and make them more comfortable to work in. Having solar panels on the roof would enable them to generate electricity from an infinite resource, the sun, and cut down their energy footprint.

  • Tighter Control over Gambling Establishments in High Streets
It's been bubbling in the background for years and having just watched a Panorama episode on iPlayer, I'm feeling quite angry/disappointed in the "establishment" which puts big business / profits ahead of the people. We won against salt, we'll win against sugar, I switched suppliers thanks to 38 degrees ... the list goes on !! I'm now talking about how highly addictive and family-destroying machines allow vulnerable people to spend hundreds or thousands of points in a few minutes ... money that haven't got! Surely this should be better controlled?? Eg far lowed maximum caps, make it harder to borrow money from these places just to lose at gambling, etc etc. "Lots has been done" and "We are doing a lot" - just pointless words while peoples live are ruined. I was almost hooked when I was younger, because my friends were gamblers in their teens. That was then and I now have teenage children of my own and it is SO EASY to get trapped. I'm hope I'm not alone in this - it just seems so selfish of these businesses.
