Reduce speed limit on Kingsley Road to 20mphKingsley Road runs alongside two primary schools and is used by pedestrians, cyclists, cars and buses. After much campaigning by Kingsley Community Primary School, a zebra crossing has been added to the road, however many cars still speed through it and ignore pedestrians crossing the road. In order to make the road safer for all road users, we the undersigned propose reducing the speed limit to 20mph and enforcing it with a speed camera. Residents who live on Kingsley Road have reported that it is difficult to reverse out of their driveways currently, as other cars drive past so fast. A child from Kingsley School has been involved in an incident on the road. Many parents with children at the schools are in favour of reducing the speed limit, as are local residents. There is no need for this road to have a 30mph speed limit. A driver driving at 20mph is far less likely to be involved in a road collision than one driving at 30mph.73 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephanie Pitchers

St Barnabas Primary - Protect our small schoolsNo two schools are the same. But the government doesn't seem to agree. It wants to rush through plans to force every single school in England to become an academy run by businesses, sponsors or trusts; not by members of the community and parents. As a result the school might not have the freedom to meet the needs of the community which they serve. There is no evidence to show that academies perform better than maintained schools and there is a real risk small schools, like ours, would be closed as they are unprofitable.58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jill Hibbs

#optmeoutoflocation tracking by the mobile and Wi-Fi operatorsA location history of your movements for the last year or more is incredibly insightful. Location data can show your sex, your approx age, your home and work addresses, where your children go to school, whether you are ill or becoming ill, how affluent you are (or how much poorer you are becoming), who your friends and family are (or were), your sexual orientation, how fast you drive, your personal preferences and lifestyle and much more. Worse - you really don't know who this data is being sold to or what for. To learn more and how to opt out go to www.optmeoutoflocation.com and sign our petition asking the UK ICO (Information Commissioners Office) to make the mobile and Wi-Fi operators ask our consent before they take and use this data.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Geoff Revill

HMG fulfil pledge of additional NHS GP places by 2020: increase Med Student intake by 5000The Government has already committed to an additional 5,000 new GPs by 2020 but is not enabling this to happen: it takes 6 years to train a Medical Student and there is currently a severe shortage: practices cannot recruit due to crisis of supply. Meanwhile the UK's population is increasing daily with economic migrants and refugees & our infrastructure is failing. We have an over reliance on overseas Medical Students and urgently need to increase our intake of UK Medical Students to Universities by extending their intake now.65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Elspeth Gass

Refer to the Living Wage As The So-Called Living WageFor the obvious reason that anything that describes itself as a living wage should actually BE a living wage. Otherwise it distorts public perceptions of the extremely important issue of low pay that still adversely affects millions of people in the UK. No government should be allowed to gain political capital by wilfully misusing a term that has a precise and specific meaning. Any increase to the minimum wage is, of course, welcome, but to term something a living wage when it falls considerably short of being one is ultimately counterproductive; it strongly suggests that no further action is required to combat the problem of low pay and that's certainly not the case! You can read more about the difference between the Government's so-called Living Wage and the genuine Living Wage here: http://www.livingwage.org.uk/what-living-wage1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Colleen Hawkins

Don't force Springfield Community Primary School to become an academyNo two schools are alike. But the government doesn't seem to agree. It wants to rush through plans to force every single school in England to become an academy the type of school paid for by taxpayers, but run by businesses, sponsors or trusts. Many teachers and parents are already standing against the plans, saying that they're "a step towards privatisation", ignore local views, and could force some schools to close. One size does not fit all, and local parents and teachers should have a say in the future of our school. ------ If this isn't your local school, click here to sign your local petition, or start one if no-one else has yet: https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/start-a-campaign-for-your-school53 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jenny Lindvall

Stop the deportation of Refugees & Asylum seekers from Greece and back to TurkeyThese vulnerable people have had to abandon their homes in countries ravaged by wars and the rule of oppressive organisations that have shown little regard to human rights. These people are escaping from those who have readily committed crimes against humanity. They have paid dearly with money and many lost their lives to get this far( Greece). They must not be sent to Turkey, where there's nothing for them but certain slow death. Please SIGN to stop this totally inhumane act , especially against the children and the elderly5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Miqdad Al-Nuaimi

Allow carers & disabled to continue claiming benefits while waiting for appeals processWith many disabled people having to ask for Mandatory Reconsideration followed by appeal they are often left unsupported while gov. depts and legal system is snowed under unable to process appeals fast enough. In the majority of cases the appeals are won which means claimants are caused unnecessary hardship while waiting. Often with disastrous results. Volunteer carers are also effected often having their entire benefits cut to zero while waiting an outcome. This is unfair. If the system is so poorly designed that large numbers are having to appeal only to win their case then it is fair that the claimants should continue to receive benefits while waiting for an inadequate system to catch up. Even when an appeal is won no compensation for extra costs involved is awarded therefor further penalizing the applicant for an inadequately designed and poorly executed system51 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pete Ritchie
