• 14c bus
Peacehaven is becoming a large community, and we are told not to use cars, as at one point they were trying to encourage people to use a bus, hence they created the "bus lanes" for this reason

  • PARK IN DROMORE LIMAVADY
Kids Can Play Safely In The Park, There Not Near Any Of The Country Roads. It's great for kids development. Parents that live in the Dromore Avenue Area That Have No Availability of Cars dont have to worry about taking their kids 3miles into limavady to let them go to the park when it is at their front door. Dromore avenue up baranailt road really needs a park for the kids growing up in the area & for other kids near by that have no access to cars.

  • Ban single use plastics in the UK.
In the UK alone the amount of plastic waste generated annually is estimated to be nearly 5 million tonnes. With only 9% of all plastic ever made actually being recycled that means that our beautiful planet is filling up with toxic plastics. It is clogging up our seas, killing our wildlife and is in our food and in the air that we breathe. The saddest thing is that most of this plastic is completely unnecessary and we now have so many solutions and alternatives available and we need to put pressure on our governments to put laws and solutions in place to stop this devastation now. Everything that is made from plastic can be made from hemp and this is easy to grow, it enriches and heals the soil it is grown in, cleans the air, and reduces pollution. It has some of the longest, strongest natural fibers known to man. I feel so passionate about this issue as I have seen first hand in Bali the waterways and beaches awash and full of plastics. It is heartbreaking and I set out to help make people aware of what is happening and bring about positive action and change. There are millions of images of animals that are being tortured and killed by our everyday plastic use. Plastics that are completely disposable and that last forever on our planet.

  • How accessible is your local train station?
Because I believe everyone should have equal rights regardless as to whether you have a disability or not. I believe the local train stations should be accessible for everyone. Less than 60% of Greater Manchester's train stations have step free access. If ramps were available at my local train station I would have used these instead of the steps as they were hard to manoeuvre and I fell over.

  • STOP the petrol station on Bolton Road
The sale of new petrol cars will be outlawed in eleven years time. Building new Petrol Stations is an impractical business move, it causes immense disruption to local residents in a suburban area who will suffer from light and noise pollution throughout the day. The TFGM report into the plans suggested that significant traffic problems would be caused by cars trying to turn in and out of Watling Street and has been underplayed in the developers submission. They suggested a full reconfiguration of the site but the developers have not taken this into account. Environmental reports shows that a brook is culverted under the site which feeds into Elton Reservoir, a site for sailing and swimming as well as a water reserve. The risk of contamination reaching this brook through the soil is not insignificant and poses a public health risk. Air quality on Bolton Road would significantly deteriorate in an area that already suffers from poor air quality, another health risk to residents in the area. This plan is unfit for purpose and as such, we implore the committee at it's hearing to dismiss application 64138

  • Don’t follow Trump into another gulf war
Tensions are rising between Trump, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Some have said the three nations are on the brink of serious attacks and possibly war. Right now, Boris Johnson is considering deploying British troops to support the Saudi Arabian government - a regime that is partly responsible for one of the worst famines in human history and has horrific record of serious human rights abuses. The current plans for conflict are being spearheaded by President Trump, a hot-headed leader with a reputation for making rash decisions. And the UK PM has said he’s waiting on a call from President Trump or the Saudis asking him to provide military support in the coming weeks. The last time this happened, when Blair supported Bush’s war in the Middle East, British troops ended up being deployed for 13 years, and the conflict in Afghanistan is still ongoing. It’s time to show Boris Johnson that the UK public don’t want to get into bed with Trump and Saudia Arabia and enter another war.

  • Stop Link Rd widening, Great Missenden, Bucks
Great Missenden is a beautiful village in the heart of the Chilterns AONB. This road widening is a County Council scheme, prompted by the decision to build the HS2 Chiltern tunnel portal in the neighbouring village of South Heath. The works are due to start on October 14th. Crucially, HS2 Ltd did NOT ask originally for the road widening in the village. This was insisted upon by the County Council in 2016 for "traffic flow" reasons, with no regard given to the safety of vulnerable road users or enhancements to pedestrian safety or the wishes of villagers. These works must immediately be placed on hold, pending the outcome of the Government's HS2 review and ideally scrapped altogether.

  • Public consultation for Wakefield City Centre plans.
On Fri 30th Aug a 4 hour consultation was held to showcase new City Centre plans, and invite feedback, as most residents work full-time. this is not good enough. The Council Leader stated "It is essential that residents and businesses in the city centre contribute to the long-term plans, it is their city and we must understand their dreams and aspirations. Town and city centres play a huge part in our five year Economic Strategy and this is your opportunity to tell us what you want." We need to know what the plans are for: - air quality that effects the health of our kids - public transport and provisions for cyclist - public spaces, parks and more trees - climate change Their are many problems in the City Centre that need resolving: - linking the 2 shopping centres - the future of Wakefield market and the new market hall - empty units in out of town retail parks - empty police station - empty ABC cinema - empty units on Smyth Street - former council building Chantry House empty - litter, graffiti and derelict buildings With hundreds of new homes, expansion of Wakefield College and a thriving arts scene, Wakefield should be bustling, however it's desolate, with little to no police presence and increasing social problems. Sign the petition and share it as wide as possible, to have your say and demand that Wakefield Council hold a full consultation for residents, businesses and visitors, advertised in newspapers, on social media, posters and leaflets. Thank you.

  • H&F Recycling isn't always going where you think!
It appears that there isn't enough space and not enough time to take the dust cart back to base, to empty it and start again, so instead bags get mixed up. Such a waste of time recycling! Hammersmith and Fulham is a great council, I am sure this has just slipped through the net, but be great to get it sorted please. So I ask you to sign to politely ask H&F recycling team to: A - organise for there to be 2 distinct dust carts, one for recycling and one for rubbish B - to switch the bigger right side of the current dust carts to be for recycling so there is more space. It's a quick and easy fix, the dust men want it too, but it needs to be authorised from the top. Please don't be complacent about recycling, we can't just do our bit and then forget about where it ends up once it leaves our front door. Please sign. Thanks
