Make coffee cups recyclable! To the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - Michael Gove: The UK throws away 2.5 billion takeaway coffee cups every year, but sadly less than 1% get recycled. The treasury’s proposal to introduce the 25p latte levy will only pass the buck onto consumers. It’s not fair that consumers have to pay the price, when companies can do more to fix the problem. Big brands like Starbucks, Costa and Nero need to clean up their act and introduce recyclable alternatives, as sustainable solutions already exist! We want legislative change to enforce the use of eco alternatives by 2020.2,394 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Aaron McFarlane

Help Preserve our Art Space!Pine Walk art exhibition in Bournemouth Lower Gardens was set up in 1954 to help amateur artists display and sell their work. It is now proposed by the council to redevelop the display area by reducing the stands from 40 to 11. No serious consultation had taken place with the artists and we consider the new proposed scheme to be unfit for purpose. We have concerns that the new scheme will cost too much money which would in turn demand a higher fee from the artists to rent the 'new space'. We feel the money would be better spent in other more cost effective ways, one of which could be advertising. Bournemouth is an Arts University town yet local art is not supported. Locals and tourists love to visit this space as it provides a free attraction and provides a valuable platform for those starting out in the art world.225 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Melissa Hobson-Matthews

Ban Trail Hunting on National Trust LandTrail hunting involves laying a trail of concentrated fox urine for a pack of hounds to follow. They are trained to ONLY follow fox scent when they could so easily be trained to follow the smell of fruit, drugs, biscuits or anything else. So, it should not come as a shock when the pack follows the scent of a real fox and kills it. This is still legal in the UK and goes on throughout the country. As a result, hundreds of foxes are still chased and killed for pleasure each year in the UK. There is no place in modern society to kill just for pleasure and members of the National Trust are unwittingly supporting this activity. There are incidents where pets are also killed 'by accident' and hunts refuse to trail hunt with dogs muzzled to avoid 'collateral damage'. The National Trust should be the most respected Guardians of the countryside and represent the views of its members. It should not be an organisation that promotes cruelty and killing for the pleasure of a tiny minority. We would ask the Board of the National Trust to ban all trail hunting on their land. NOTE: it is easy to stop inhumane suffering and 'accidental' death: LET'S CLOSE THIS LOOPHOLE.345 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Peter Parsons

Let Charlie Barker’s assistance dog George go to the Fusion festivalFusion won’t allow Charlie Barkers assistance dog George go to the music Festival! PLEASE HELP BY SIGNING & SHARING. From Charlie: ____________________ "I'm 23 and for one day I would just like to be that care free 20 year old who enjoys live music. But it's being taken away from me because Fusion won't let me take my Assistance Dog, George! I have a condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. EDS affects the body’s connective tissue. Connective tissue lies between other tissues and organs, keeping these separate whilst connecting them, holding everything in place and providing support, like the mortar between bricks. EDS causes my joints to dislocate, mostly my shoulders and hips. My gorgeous George helps me to relocate them. Without George, I will end up in A&E, meaning I could miss most of the concert but more importantly Fusion will have put me through unnecessary pain. George does Deep Pressure Massage for pain relief #myrock" ____________________ Please help show Fusion Charlie needs his assistance dog George and they are discriminating against him! https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/sites/default/files/assistance-dogs-a-guide-for-all-businesses.pdf517 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Looby Loo

Removing the rules on flasks at the AmexWith the upcoming ban on flasks, we find this unacceptable for many people. Some people bring soup to a game (something that is not sold at the stadium), some people bring tea or coffee as they cannot afford to buy Hot Drinks at the stadium. (This may be a family or someone on a reduced income). A flask at football is a right of passage and is for refreshment purposes not as a weapon. How many times has a football player been hit with a rogue flask? Is this really for safety or a way of increasing revenue from drink sales?146 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Richy Smith

No 'One Size Fits all ' for Post Traumatic Stress DisorderEvery year Mental Health issues affect the lives of 1 in 4 people in the U.K. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and its resultant mental health issues are a silent killer in the military and especially in men. My son is currently in hospital having been diagnosed with P.T.S.D. Dan's Story:- https://www.gofundme.com/2q5p6z-hadrians-wall-walk?member=557154 More than 6,000 people die by suicide every year in the U.K. Nearly 80% of that 6,000 are men and male suicides are now at their highest since 2001. I ask that the medication programmes provided for P.T.S.D. are supplemented by therapies which routinely include: Acupuncture : https://www.acupuncture.org.uk/public-content/public-pr-press-releases/6374-acupuncture-study-sees-remarkable-success-rate-in-veterans-with-ptsd.html https://www.talktotrinity.com/2016/11/28/can-acupuncture-relieve-symptoms-of-ptsd/ Counselling : https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/trauma-and-ptsd/ E.M.D.R. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing : https://thepsychologist.bps.org.uk/volume-27/edition-7/emdr-more-just-therapy-ptsd E.F.T. Emotional Freedom Self-help Techniques: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2540469/Alternative-tapping-therapy-favoured-Lily-Allen-used-NHS-treat-anxiety-depression.html NO ONE SIZE FITS ALL We are all individual and respond differently to different treatments. If the full range of therapies were to be on offer, to supplement the medication provided, it would give more choice for health professionals working hard to devise treatment programmes and could hasten recovery and cut down on side effects. Would it not be something to consider that when military personnel return from their 'tour of duty' that these alternative therapies are offered as part of their 'normalisation programme'. A joint funded initiative between the N.H.S. and the Ministry of Defence? We can't put a price on good Mental Health. Currently it would seem that we do in some areas. Could this be a false economy long term? Is it not time to put the individual at the centre of their care, as all Social Care Legislation stipulates, and work together to achieve the best possible outcome for the person, their friends and family and maybe for the budget in the long term? Thank you for reading and hopefully signing this petition I truly hope with all my heart that it will help to instigate a change of thinking, save lives, lessen suffering and distress.134 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Linda Woodhouse

De-power Scottish Natural HeritageTo keep a balance for all who live or use the environment. Also to protect more those species that are on the endanger list from extinction and full information has to be giving to justify why species that are protected have to killed. So that we in the future are not asking questions why species that are still depleting partly due to licenses being issues and also toughen up the laws on those who kill protected species illegally.129 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Henry Wilkie

Save Vale SquareThe Vale Square Residents Association have been looking after this community garden for over 32 years. Vale Square is an asset of community value. The council have refused to answer emails regarding this issue and have refused an offer to buy the square by residents stating they must bid for the property in open auction. Friends of Vale Square have invested time and money £4,000 each year to maintain the grounds including the trees which have a preservation order. Vale Square is used by local groups and is available for use by the community. It is an asset to be treasured and kept for future generations and should not just be disposed off.1,734 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Raushan Ara

Stop Suffragette statue being removed from ParliamentThis statue was funded by suffragettes and has stood in place since 1930. It would be disrespectful to move the statue from the public eye on the centenary of women's suffrage. We've made so much progress in the realm of women's rights but moving a feminist hero like Pankhurst away from the heart of UK politics would be a step backwards182,023 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Jacquie Hawkins

To stop the SNH culling innocent birds such as Ravens, Robins, Starling etc. This is especially important as the Scottish Natural Heritage's job, as most see it, are there to protect wildlife and birds. Not give licences to destroy them The RSPB have some of these birds on their red list "A number of our garden birds like house sparrows, starlings and song thrushes have been on the red list for a while; this time around we see the addition of mistle thrushes. Read more at https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wildlife/wildlife-guides/uk-conservation-status-explained/#CXFzreJo5j74dJGl.99" So to actual issue licences to destroy these very birds is ridiculous! Please sign and make them aware of our thoughts and feelings on this subject65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sandra Robinson

Save the Forward CentreThe Forward Centre was purpose built 35 years ago as a base for adults with physical disabilities to meet others who faced similar problems and encourage each other to try things they had never thought of doing Many of the activities require specially trained staff to assist people with a wide range of disabilities often caused by accidental injuries or long term illness The Social Work Services are having to make cuts of £100,000 to their annual budget and the only way open to them is buildings or staff. If the staffing levels are reduced the service to the members will suffer so they have decided to demolish a perfectly sound building1,064 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Jim Donaldson
