BARLY BELONGS HEREBarly Koyangbwa is a great helper. Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Barly fled to the UK to seek refuge in 2013 after his family was targeted and members of his family were killed by the Kabila regime. Barly is a leading member of APARECO, the resistance movement against Kabila developed by Congolese refugees. He is named on the APARECO website as the representative in charge of mobilisations and strategy in Manchester, and as the Second Urban Representative of APARECO North West and most recently APARECO’s Executive appointed Barly as President of the Liverpool Branch. The Home Office accepts that those belonging to the categories of leader, office bearer and spokesperson for APARECO “are at real risk of persecution” and yet, on March 19th 2018 the Home Office refused Barly’s asylum claim. Please share and sign this. Read more here: http://rapar.org.uk/barlybelongshere602 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Luke

Save our Norwich Skyline! The heritage of the city is one of its greatest assets and the unspoilt medieval street scape is a joy to all who live work and visit Norwich. The scheme will not solve local housing affordability issues, and there are thousands of unbuilt planning permissions in sites around the fringe of the city. Instead, the scheme will dwarf our historic city centre, displace many entrepreneurial and creative businesses and not deliver the sensitive regeneration we want and need. Support us in turning away London-style over-densification of our city.579 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Cathedral Magdalen & St Augustines Forum

Don't deport Olya from the UK- stop this family from being torn apartOlya has followed all the advice given to her and her husband by the Home Office, and all she wants is to live with her family in Scotland. But now she faces deportation away from her home because of a technicality. They claim her Scottish husband didn't do enough to make Ireland his centre of life, as per the Home Office’s advice, before coming to Scotland. They also have a two-year-old daughter, Milana, who was born in Scotland. Sign the petition to tell the Home Office to drop their threats and let Olya and her family live in peace. Their life is in Scotland, their child is Scottish. Don’t rip them apart.55,180 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Derek Merry

Return The Old Spotted Dog Ground to the People of NewhamThe Old Spotted Dog Ground, adjacent to the pub of the same name on Upton Lane in Forest Gate, has been home to Clapton Football Club since it played its first match there over 130 years ago in 1887. From May 1993, the sports ground and its 99-year lease have been controlled by a charity, Newham Community Leisure (NCL). From 2003, however, it has repeatedly failed to file accounts and the ground was effectively run as a private business, in breach of the charity's aims and objectives. A complaint was made to the Charity Commission as far back as 2013, but it has dragged on for years without resolution. Finally, in 2017, the Charity Commission ordered the NCL trustees to a meeting to provide evidence of how they made decisions about contracts, the charity's relationship with its main tenant Clapton FC and to answer concerns about conflicts of interest. A first meeting was cancelled due to “illness”. On the eve of a second attempt to hold this meeting, NCL announced it was going into liquidation and so the interview was postponed. Around the same time, it also emerged that a company with the same aims and objects as the charity had been quietly set up, presumably to take over after NCL had been wound up. Supporters of Clapton FC obtained an injunction against the liquidation in April 2017. Legal action against a charity requires the permission of the Charity Commission and so in July, a judge asked for their authorisation. Inexplicably, this was not provided until February 2018. The Charity Commission has also produced a report on the management of NCL, but despite repeated requests, it has still not published it. Now a further attempt has been made again close down NCL. This leaves the ground vulnerable to having its assets sold off and full control of the lease to remain in the hands of the people who have mismanaged the ground for the last 15 years. We say this historic and treasured local resource must return to the community – managed and cared for by a charity that is properly run by and genuinely seeks to benefit local residents. We call on Newham Council to support us in securing the future of the Old Spotted Dog Ground – and for the Charity Commission to release its investigation report on NCL immediately.1,753 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Save The OSD Ground

Clean up The development site opposite AsdaThis is a local residential area and is an eyesore. The area is on a main road leading in and out of Hayle an looks awful for both residents and visitors. Hayle relies heavily on attracting tourists and this distracts from the hard work put in by locals and local community groups such as Hayle in bloom who work hard to make the town look attractive. Now that the boarding is down the site is also open and is a health and safety hazard. Clean it up now!310 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Sharon Kilty

PayPal should lift the ban on CBD Products!CBD is a legal product to sell and is an amazing health supplement! Despite this, PayPal have taken an anti-business stance that won't allow CBD product sales from certain businesses. PayPal states it "breaks the terms of its policies", however fails to show or explain where this is stated. Additionally you can use PayPal to buy CBD oil via a website owned by PayPal's parent company? A small farmer or oil producer can really benefit from the use of PayPal for their business, so you can't help but feel maybe they are being targeted and this is not right. I believe it's important for us all to do our part in stopping this from happening, please help by signing this petition and sharing with your friends. Thank you all!171 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Lauren O'Malley

No further military intervention in SyriaThis would result in further bloodshed, and is a risk to world (relative) 'peace'. It is also difficult to see how this is in our national interest.24 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jolyon Allen

Keep Fossil Fuel Companies Away from our children's schools and clubsWe all know that climate change is a real threat to everyone and everything on this planet, and that the fossil fuel industry is the biggest cause of pollution, the increase of greenhouse gases, and of creating global warming. The industry is responsible for poisoning our waterways, oceans, air, and land. Also, a lot of the chemicals the fossil fuel companies extract are used for making plastics. Plastics are choking our oceans, killing our sea life, and contaminating the sea salt, which in turn will contaminate users of sea salt. We now have fossil fuel companies like INEOS, Cuadrilla, Third Energy etc., setting up Community Funds in areas in which they propose to carry out Hydraulic Fracturing: Fracking. There is increasing evidence that Fracking is extremely harmful to the health of our young people, and it has been linked to premature births, low birth rate, delayed brain development, nosebleeds, skin rashes, sickness, headaches, asthma, cancer, and infertility. This, as well as the environmental impact, as seen in parts of America and Australia, where Fracking is prevalent, links have been made to the pollution of aquifers, rivers, waterways, land (both farming and natural), air quality and earthquakes. The Fossil Fuel Industry has known about the damage it is causing, to our children's health, and the health of our planet since the late 80's, and has refused to change or act responsibly. By allowing these companies to sponsor school activities, children's football clubs etc., we are allowing them to subliminally promote themselves as fun, healthy companies that can be trusted in the eyes of our children, when in fact they are abusing our trust, and endangering our children. It is time we all started divesting away from fossil fuels, and the fossil fuel industry. One way of doing this is to keep these dirty industries, their logos, and their money away from our children's schools and leisure activities."735 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Sharon Hannington

Proposal to close most of the Minor Injury Units in CornwallNHS Kernow, who operate Minor Injury Units (MIUs) in Cornwall, announced that they will be upgrading some units into Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs); they are now evaluating which sites to upgrade but so far refused to comment on what will happen to MIUs not selected for upgrading. Should NHS Kernow decide to close the them, MIUs and community hospitals will decrease healthcare provision throughout Cornwall, leaving many outside reasonable travelling distance. This will cause serious delays in assessment and treatment. It will also cause further pressure on Treliske and Derriford Hospitals. There has been a lack of public consultation on these proposed changes. The MIUs provide a local service that we want, need and use. We asked what will happen to the MIUs at the CCG's last meeting, but they claimed they didn't receive our message. They have committed to answering at their next meeting at the beginning of June. We have until then to pile on the pressure and make sure they think hard about their answer, and the impact closure would have on our community. Please add your name!783 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Felicity Owen
