Make St Nicholas Community School Safe & AccessibleIn summer of 2017 the new build of St Nicholas Community Primary School ground to a halt as the contractor went into liquidation (https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/education/schools-new-5m-building-wont-411409 ) preventing the school opening on schedule in the summer. The new site opened after a two week half term in October, this delay cost parents and teachers a considerable amount in childcare. Further delays followed as utilities on site were not up to standard. Staff endeavoured to minimise disruption to the children’s education at the cost of their own time and effort. Some of this disruption has been going on since the start of the new build over two years ago. Today the school is still a building site with areas cordoned off, and re-cordoned off when the weather blew those down. Throughout the winter children have had to access a poorly lit school for after school events and clubs. There is no street-lighting on the path leading into the school beside St Nicholas Church. It is not safe and very frightening for pupils. The path has not been widened and does not provide enough space for the footfall accessing the school with prams, bikes, scooters or more than one child. There is no easy or safe access for parents to drop off or collect their children without causing obstructions, trespass or danger to life. Choke points make it dangerous for children using their bikes, scooters and walking into school. Poor traffic control on the corner of Holme Church Lane, Bulcher Lane, and Beaver Road is also putting lives at risk. The extended closure of footpath No12 leading from Holme Church Lane to Grovehill Road continues to cause elderly residents problems, disorienting them or making it impossible for them to navigate. All these matters were raised at the planning consultations. None of them have been resolved. This is not a 21st Century school as one ward councillor hoped for. The school field was lost when the new build began, two years later children still do not have access to a large, suitable by law, play area. Currently 300 children are limited to exercise on a small tennis court. Once again contractors are delayed due to poor drainage and contractors are now damaging original work while repairing other problems. Many minor injuries have been caused on the footpath. Children are scared of attending school clubs, deciding against after school activities because of the dark. Car drivers are not able to see/react to those crossing the roads in the area resulting in a number of close calls. Children have to wear mud soaked clothes when they fall from their bikes or slip in the mud as there simply aren't enough spare uniforms to go around. Play and exercise time is limited because of lack of space. We believe our children should be able to access and use the school safely. This is not the case. The health and well-being of the pupils have been put second for too long.321 of 400 SignaturesCreated by M Horst

To Provide School Transport Provision to the Children of Birchgrove and LlwyncelynMany parents do not have cars and feel that it is both too far for young children to walk, especially in bad weather, and is also unsafe because of the busy roads along the route - despite officers stating otherwise. Does gan nifer o rieni ddim ceir, ac er gwaethaf honiadau am ddiogelwch y llwybrau gan swyddogion y Cyngor, credwn fod y daith yn rhy hir, yn enwedig mewn tywydd garw, ac yn rhy beryglus.110 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Anna Jones

KEEP BLUEWAVE HYDROTHERAPY POOL AND GYM COMPLEX OPEN for the disabledThe Bluewave hydrotherapy Complex is a specialist facility that serves the most vulnerable and marginalised members of our community - namely the disabled and elderly. There is no facility in Kent that offers the equipment and service that this complex can offer, such as the hydrotherapy pool, specialist weight training and cardiovascular equipment and pain management classes. This space is a social hub that provides some of the more vulnerable members of the community with a place to converse, improve their health and interact with others. The complex receives exercise referrals from the NHS and is also used by a number of special needs and state schools. The loss of this facility would be devastating for the local community! Please can you sign the petition so Bluewave can remain open and continue providing this crucial support to our community.1,839 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Michelle Moore

Save Priorswood LibraryThis library and its staff provide vital services to one of Somerset's most deprived areas where community assets are already scarce. Not only is this an essential information and communication resource but it also contributes significantly to health, wellbeing and social life, in particular for the considerable number of residents with limited mobility, especially older, disabled, and low-income residents.190 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Mark Wood

#StirCrazy: Pret a Manger: free plastic stirrers/stoppers - why?!Plastic stirrers/stoppers are used for 4 seconds: they then last 4 centuries. There are alternatives available: metal tea spoons, bamboo, or sustainably-sourced wood, even. The plastic stirrer - this is the most absurd, damaging, pointless single-use plastic available - it should not be so. Don't offer them for free! You will save money, the world's environment and your reputation of being 'natural'. If we really want to potentially toxify our coffee or water with a stirrer, at least make us pay for the pleasure. C'mon - charge us!275 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Luke Douglas-Home

School Transport to Darran Park Primary and YGG Llyn y Forwyn for Blaenllechau pupils. We feel that the distance from Blaenllechau to both schools in an unfair distance for a child to walk especially Infants aged children (3-7). This would be considerably worse in the Winter months. Also with some children in full-time and some in part-time this could means numerous trips to and from school in one day. Traffic around the school is already an issue and this could lead to further increase in traffic flow around the school. We feel no consideration has been taking in declaring the route to school as a "safe route". There are being no extra measures introduced to increase the safety of our children. Public transport is not an option as we only have one bus every hour, which would either make you 40 minutes early for school or 20 minutes late.202 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Anna Jones

Urgent need for traffic lights at the lethal junction of Linley Lane/Linley Road - Alsager. In 2001 Alsager resident Graham Lownes died at the age of 36 in a collision at the junction. His family asked for traffic lights to make the junction safer back then, they are still waiting 17 years later. Crashes happen regularly at that dangerous junction, with another one just last weekend. We want action from Cheshire East council now. We demand traffic lights to be installed with no further delay.328 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Jo Dale

Let's get a safe crossing at Clermiston PrimaryThere have been a lot of near misses with pedestrians, I witnessed a cyclist being knocked off his bike at school pick up time. I have seen numerous car accidents (all be it minor ones) which could of been a child. I think campaigns to get parents to use their cars less has failed and unfortunately some people are still being selfish and parking in forbidden zones. An area to cross safely away from the chaos will potentially save a child's life. Let's get as many signatures as possible to tell the council that we want and need a crossing!290 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Charlotte Goldsmith

Ban the use of stink pits in EnglandStink pits are fenced enclosures, bins or holes dug out by gamekeepers who then fill them with rotting carcasses of discarded game birds, as well as other wild and domestic animals in order to attract target species such as foxes in to a large quantity of snares. In this photo, taken on a Sheffield moor, it appears that ‘non-target’ species are being repeatedly captured - in this case mountain hares. The current approach to managing the Sheffield moors appears to be having a significant and detrimental effect on the local mountain hare population. This excessive use of snares by gamekeepers does not follow DEFRA's code of practice on the use of snares, or the industry's good practice guidance (e.g. BASC) of "quality over quantity". This is why we are calling for a ban on stink pits.4,479 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust

Stop Closure of Overground Ticket Offices in West Hampstead and ElsewhereOur ticket offices provide an incredible valuable service to residents and to the many thousands of people who interchange between tube and other rail services every day. The helpful staff sell tickets for any rail journey in the UK. They provide an enquiry and Oyster top up service, to fill the gap left by the closure by Boris Johnson of our tube station ticket office. They provide help for the many visitors from abroad who travel through West Hampstead. Members of the local amenity group, West Hampstead Amenity & Transport, have told us that, if they could not easily buy mainline tickets, they would go by car instead. When our Tube ticket closed, the busy tube station at West Hampstead was - and still is - frequently left unstaffed with the barriers open. It seems that this was caused by former ticket office staff leaving and not being replaced. This in turn encourages crime and anti-social behaviour by allowing anyone to enter the system without a ticket. The same thing could happen on the Overground, which is one of the most successful rail projects anywhere in the country. TfL's website states that this is a “Modernisation of Customer Service”, whereas in fact no improvements are specified in the documents that they have supplied, and the move will worsen the service for passengers who need help and/or those who need to use a ticket office. The proposals appear to have been based on inaccurate figures for the number of tickets sold and they fail to reflect the value of having a national rail enquiry office in local communities. If this methodology were used on the whole national railway system, there would be hardly any railway ticket offices left across the whole country, and whole swathes of the UK would be without a retail facility for purchasing tickets. Finally, if the ticket office at West Hampstead is closed we've been told that the ticket office in the new West Hampstead Overground station will be built! The station is under construction at the moment, and the design of the station will be changed to exclude a ticket office from the building project. Therefore, we must fight the plans.180 of 200 SignaturesCreated by John Saynor / West Hampstead Amenity & Transport (WHAT)
