This needs to be addressed urgently, it is total discrimination against those that qualify for any benefits because of disability, but not qualify for one that could totally benefit their everyday life, public transport is NOT a viable option to the many for hospital appointments etc. This is, after all, a benefit that has already been paid for through NI/tax contributions over the years, that is qualification enough for any benefits in my eyes, but a forgotten fact until old age hits.

The ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office clearly showed the mass cover up which led to the wrongful prosecution of hundreds of innocent employees. Rishi Sunak said they were victims of “one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in our nation’s history”. But because the DUP refuse to enter Stormont, the law exonerated them won't apply to Northern Ireland, and the 20 sub post masters impacted are being left to struggle through the courts to overturn this injustice. Justice is devolved to Stormont - so we need a sitting Assembly to make this happen. The DUP must go back into government now, and exonerate those wrongfully convicted.

As a blue badge disabled holder, I could park on the double yellow lines! This still causes a problem now if the lines outside all schools where painted red nobody has the right to park there giving safe access to school. Anyone with a blue badge wouldn't be able to park there. I know I definitely wouldn't and other people also. It is a town problem, it is a city problem it's a national problem.

It is vitally important to the good people of our nation to know that the Post Office Scandal isn’t going away anytime soon certainly not before a General Election where those responsible will be judged by honest hardworking citizens. Throughout this entire shameful event we have seen on an hourly basis the sin, criminality and downright despicable behaviour of employees of Post Office a wholly owned Government company, from the top down and this I am sure is only the tip of the iceberg of unearthing atrocities. From the implementation of the flawed Horizon computer accounting system in 1999 every SubPostMaster was lied to, abused and humiliated for it would seem like a game to be played out in Post Office HQ corridors. I see it like a cat teasing a mouse to its final demise horrific and watched over by the entire board for their unnatural pleasure. As a honest hardworking SubPostMaster of over 17 years I as millions of other decent citizens have not one ounce of respect for anyone working for Post Office on behalf of the UK Government. Nor for that matter any Minister, Civil Servant involved with Post Office Ltd, with may I add the exception of Paul Scully MP who had a completed grasp of the sheer extent of this scandal until the Prime Minister moved this pioneering champion to the back benches making it obvious that Paul Scully was too near revealing truths, which as it happens ITV did very succinctly. I would again call on the amazing population on behalf of every SubPostmaster past and present who are not as the press insist “Managers” of Post Office another misconception, but self-employed business people who invested their own Money into buying and operating a franchise by any other name. It is time the Government were held fully accountable for this travesty and certain past time that the Honours system was not used to reward such people as Perkins and Gillland.

BBC analysis of Care Quality Commission (CQC) records showed it deemed two-thirds (67%) of them not to be safe enough, up from 55% last autumn. The "deterioration" follows efforts to improve NHS maternity care, and is blamed partly on a midwife shortage. The government said maternity care was of the "utmost importance". The Department for Heath and Social Care (DHSC) said £165m a year was being invested in boosting the maternity workforce, but said "we know there is more to do". The BBC's analysis also revealed the proportion of maternity units with the poorest safety ranking of "inadequate" - meaning that there is a high risk of avoidable harm to mother or baby - has more than doubled from 7% to 15% since September 2022. This is not an isolated incident; it underscores a critical gap in our healthcare system - the lack of training for midwives, doctors, and nursery nurses in managing pregnancies complicated by type 1 diabetes. According to Diabetes UK (2019), approximately 700 women with type 1 or type 2 diabetes experience serious health complications during pregnancy each year that could be prevented with better care. We need urgent action to ensure that all healthcare professionals involved in prenatal and postnatal care are adequately trained in managing pregnancies affected by type 1 diabetes. This includes understanding how to interpret blood glucose monitoring devices accurately and how to respond effectively when these devices give incorrect readings. We cannot afford more near-miss stories like my daughter's or worse still - tragic outcomes due to inadequate training. We urge health authorities across the country to prioritize this issue immediately.
