This is about improving your political representative's honesty, and strengthening representation for you in your area. One MP I know of represents a seaside constituency and regularly posts photos of themselves eating an Ice cream, having fish and chips, and walking on the beach, with comments about how much they love the area. The coast and tourism is vital to the constituency they represent however it is regularly dogged by sewage discharges after heavy rain that make the sea contaminated and unsafe for recreational use. In 2021 the same MP was given an opportunity to vote to reduce sewage discharges to the sea, however they voted against an opposition amendment to the Environment Bill to do so, even though other MP's rebelled on the issue and voted for the amendment. None of their social media following would have any idea that this is what happened. This is just one example to illustrate the issue, and I'm sure this will happen up and down the country.

People need the library for books, computers, maps and DVDs. Many other services could be provided. At present it is a long walk to the library for those who live north of the town centre.

As mother to a young trans adult, I know personally the damage that anxiety, fear and a lack of provision causes - both physically when you have to plan every outing around where will have appropriate and safe restrooms, and emotionally, feeling othered when it comes to your basic needs. Being able to access toilet facilities is a basic right. The government seems intent on creating a false, and dangerous, narrative around the trans community. It is essential that we do not follow the terrifying route being seen in the US. I urge you to please stand up for trans people in this issue as it may otherwise be the beginning of a systematic denigration of rights. Trans people and women’s rights are intersectional rather than in opposition.

Thousands of teenagers are facing years of resits after failing their English and Maths GCSEs. The rules are that students have to resit the two subjects every year for the rest of their schooling until they pass. Struggling students are forced to go to classes with younger pupils and don’t get any additional support. The system is failing children, and all eyes are on the Government, demanding to know if they will invest in supporting students with English and Maths. That’s where you come in - if hundreds and thousands of us demand the Government support young people’s futures, we can get a commitment from Education Secretary, Gillian Keegan to invest in young people’s futures.

Prince Andrew is reported to have launched a bid to win back his £3 million taxpayer funded security team with the backing of former Home Secretary Priti Patel. Andrew was stripped of police protection after paying millions to settle a civil sex assault case last year. The idea of spending £3 million during a cost of living crisis on royal outcast Prince Andrew is disgusting. This money should be used to help fund our NHS and schools, rather than on a Prince who had to step back from Royal duties in disgrace.

For the good of the environment and wildlife and to maximize the leisure and health amenity and benefit for the current and future community. i. e. Maximization of social benefit. The site should be returned to public open space under the control of LBRuT's Parks Department and integrated into the Mereway Nature Park. LBRuT's partnership with a number of environmentally sympathetic organizations has achieved fantastic results with the development of the current Nature Park. They will be thanked by many future generations if the site is developed in a similar way as an extension to the existing Mereway Nature Park. The keys points for this are : 1. The small number of 7 affordable housing properties can be accommodated elsewhere in the borough eg the nearby Greggs Bakery site development proposal for some 116 houses. An extra housing development will negatively impact the existing natural environment / park. Its unique location adjacent to an existing major Nature Park means the site is a natural candidate for inclusion in the existing Nature Park and will never again be available if the housing option is taken. 2. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop the site for the good of the environment, wildlife and the whole wider community (current and future) in terms of leisure and health. 3. Adding the 7 affordable housing properties to the larger (116 houses) nearby Greggs site housing development gives a win-win solution - proper care and development of outdoor spaces for current and future generations; and proper provision of required affordable housing with less negative impact. 4. The congestion in the local area is already a problem. In this cul-de-sac location, even this relatively small development will have a disproportionately large negative impact and will cause claustrophobic overcrowding in an already densely populated area together with the resultant traffic congestion. 5. Any individual / personal benefit derived by the 7 new owners in the prospective development is counter-balanced by the major significant negative impact on a similar number of existing residents of houses in Mereway Road and Barneby Close that are directly adjacent to the site. 6. In summary the maximum social benefit will be gained by returning the site to public open space under the management of the partnership that has developed the Mereway Nature Park. The 60+ Smartpass which allows free public transport in Northern Ireland for the over 60’s is vital for many to live their lives with independence. But right now, the Department for Infrastructure is thinking about scrapping them. Free public transport means people are able to socialise, meet their family and take part in society with fewer obstacles. In a cost of living crisis, it's vital that people over 60 in Northern Ireland retain this support.

Taxpayers have subsidised £13m worth of private school fees. This is because of a Foreign Office perk that allows diplomats to claim back UK boarding school fees. During a cost of living crisis, these kinds of perks are shocking. With the Government failing to tackle NHS waiting lists and train strikes, why can’t diplomats send their children to state schools or pay for private schools themselves? Rishi Sunak needs to win back public favour for his Government and tackle the issues we’re all facing. A massive petition telling them to stop spending our taxes on perks and use the £13m for our NHS and other public services instead could convince them to scrap this policy.

Right now, users on TikTok, have harmful content promoted to them including videos related to self-harm and eating disorders. This is because the technology which decides what videos to show is designed to keep people hooked and people have no say in what they want to see. The EU has recently cracked down on TikTok, which means users will now be able to opt out from seeing personalised and potentially dangerous content if they wish. But Tiktok has said it has no plans to make the same option available to users in the UK leaving users, including children, across the country at risk of seeing addictive and inappropriate content. A huge petition to TikTok urging them to flick the switch and turn on this feature in the UK could be enough to convince them to do the right thing.
