Corran Narrows Fixed LinkThe Corran narrows link is being managed by The Highland Council with two ageing vessels. Their plans are now to replace these vessels with two new electric ferries at a cost of £60 million. The peninsula needs a fixed link to stop depopulation of the areas, businesses growth and to allow better opportunities for our children. Fixed link for the emergency services, as the ferries don’t operate after 21.30 and start again 6.30am. The ferries are susceptible to weather - breakdowns - and are off for bank holiday period of the Christmas and New year. Mull & Iona use the Corran narrows as their life line to the mainland when the Craignuire ferries is off or cancelled. It is time funding from transport Scotland is spent on this peninsula as it is well overdue.1,042 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Jeff Forrester

The public should not have to pay for Boris Johnson's legal feesWhile people up and down the country followed the rules, made sacrifices and lost loved ones Boris Johnson held parties - and then lied about it. I don't want a penny of the tax I pay on my NHS wage to be spent defending a wealthy former Prime Minister who broke Covid lockdown rules while my colleagues were risking their lives. And right now so many Brits can't afford to eat or heat their homes, they do not need another expense. Most of us were brought up to believe that when we were found to be telling a lie, it was important to accept responsibility and apologise. Boris seems to have been brought up to say if you're caught with your pants on fire, you lie, lie and lie again! There is no shame at all. No one in Whitehall - or outside of it - seriously believes that Johnson is innocent of misleading parliament. His colleagues in the Conservative Party should tell him to stand up, admit fault and accept his punishment. Instead they're approving him using our money to try and weasel out of it.165,822 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Vicky R

END THE STRIKE CHAOS BY PAYING WORKERS FAIRLYThe country is grinding to a halt. Visits to families delayed, items you ordered arriving late in the post and hospital appointments potentially cancelled. These are just some of the issues we have or may face as workers across the UK reach breaking point. Deciding to go on strike and lose pay is not an easy decision for our key workers especially in the midst of a cost of living crisis. It’s about time the Government were part of the solution and stepped in to help hard working nurses, train staff, postal workers, firefighters and others get the wages and working conditions they deserve. Instead, they've announced a new law - which is being described as being anti-strike - that would make it even more difficult for hard working people to get a better deal. Enough is enough, the Government needs to do better.94,737 of 100,000 Signatures

Save the trees in Morten CloseThere are 18 trees on the green at Morten Close, and they comprise ecologically valuable specimens, including a large group of Norway Maples, a mature Oak and mature Ash tree. 11 of these are to be removed under present plans, including all the Norway Maples. The amount of green space will be reduced by more than 70%, with the two broad roads constricted to a single narrow entry. In a climate emergency, we can no longer afford this way of developing. Removing the trees will have several negative consequences: - They are a biodiverse habitat supporting insects and birds. - They are a major carbon store and once cut down, this carbon is lost to the environment. - They have been on this site for many years, and in some cases decades. - Replacing them with new trees, even semi-mature ones, is a costly and wasteful option. It will be many years until they “make up” the carbon and biodiversity toll. - They form part of a natural landscape close to the hearts of Clapham Park residents. It is five years since the planning application was first written for Clapham Park. Since then, climate change has worsened. It is now acknowledged that we are undergoing an existential threat. Lambeth Council recognised this by declaring an ecological emergency in January 2019. Lambeth’s Climate Action Plan makes the priority of green space abundantly clear: Green infrastructure, just like traditional forms of infrastructure, provides essential support to every living being on the planet. Trees, shrubs and plants absorb carbon dioxide and pollutant gases, purifying the air we breathe. Green spaces slow the rate of water runoff, reducing pressure on drainage systems and regulating flooding. Urban greenery provide habitats for birds, insects and other species and cools surrounding areas, providing relief from hotter temperatures. The present plans mean losing a large proportion (>70%) of the green space and over 60% of the tree coverage. We can no longer afford to be going backwards on our commitment to green infrastructure.189 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ed Allnutt

Stop Katie Hopkins From Coming To Stafford’s Gatehouse TheatreThe people of Stafford have always come together through challenging times and have always supported those that Katie Hopkins mocks. We have made gigantic leaps in trying to eradicate bigotry and racism and she is voicing opinions that are dangerous, hateful and damaging to the advancement of acceptance. Katie Hopkins has never been a woman known for inciting peace but only hatred. She brings nothing to this town of any value and instead, by booking her, Freedom Leisure are telling our children that we give value (£) to her opinions. We are disgusted that you thought that the people of Stafford would welcome this person. A person who is infamous for spewing bile and causing division. A person who is know for being bigoted and inciting racism. A person who in 2021 was voted the most hated woman in Britain after boasting about breaking lockdown rules. A person who was BANNED from Twitter for breaking their rules on HATEFUL CONTENT. Just to be clear ( and incase you didn’t know) it is this: Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease. We also do not allow accounts whose primary purpose is inciting harm towards others on the basis of these categories. So, what has this far right extremist said? Some examples and in no particular order: Someone killed themselves in front of my train today! AGAIN! how many times do I have to tell you? Stop being selfish. I’m a busy woman. Hopkins posted a series of insensitive tweets while watching a Channel 4's documentary which showed a nine-year-old girl being diagnosed with autism. She wrote: "Honey can't complete the autism assessment as she is too busy being a complete t***. But the s*** mum assessment is complete #bornnaughty." On depression she wrote: “UK has seen a 500% growth in anti-depressants since 1991. Like being bullied, being depressed is a fashionable thing to be… The ultimate passport to self-obsession.” She has mocked the Black Lives Matter movement by tweeting: "Today is #whiteoutwednesday. I will shortly be posting a picture of my arse. Thank you." Claimed that overweight people are lazy . Said that: Meghan Markle will be preggers faster than an 11 year old in #Telford. On Trump calling for a ban on Muslims entering the US,- "I think it wouldn't hurt for everybody to have a temporary ban while we work out what the hell is going on given that we have people blowing themselves up in suicide jackets," Has compared refugees to cockroaches then said "They might look a bit 'Bob Geldof's Ethiopia circa 1984', but they are built to survive a nuclear bomb.’ Suggested that Ed Miliband, (who has often spoken about his parents' flight from Nazi persecution, ) could "gas" his wife Justine. following the Manchester bombings Katie tweeted that there should be a "final solution" - the language used by Hitler and the Nazi party towards the minority groups they targeted. On Fox News she spoke out against the "silencing" of those with right-wing views who are "calling for action". At a Ukip's party conference Hopkins said that the photograph of a drowned 3 year old Syrian boy lying on a beach (that sparked a wave of compassion across Europe ) was staged. Provoked outrage by saying "Dementia sufferers should not be blocking beds. What is the point of life when you no longer know you are living it?,” "Bang me over the head." She claimed that she wouldn't let her children play with lower class children that have names like Chardonnay. ( teaching her children to be judgemental 👏🏻👏🏻) ( when a Glaswegian Ebola patient was moved to a London hospital) she tweeted: "Sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket." Of breastfeeding women: "I loathe all breastfeeders and the Mammary Mafia. And I can't stand this 'full-time Mummy thing' - you're just unemployed." November 20, is the Transgender Day of Remembrance,- Katie Hopkins took to Twitter to write: “Today is #TransDayOfRemembrance “Most people will be wearing red testicles. But I am wearing mine white as a symbol of cis-testicular peace. #RockOnCowboys” Joined forces with leaders of the Birmingham school protests against LGBT education equality -taught as part of the equalities act, which includes lessons on protected characteristics such as disability, race, religion and sexual orientation. Described LGBT education as “indoctrination Mocked Marcus Rashford and his campaign to feed hungry school children. Routinely attacked Muslims and Islam, calling for a burqa ban, goading Muslims with photos of ISIS-themed cakes during Ramadan, claiming people were more violent while fasting, labelled Islamic culture as “homophobic”, and described Muslim ‘no-go zones’ as being run by “Muslim mafia”. ‘Just been asked a question by a very fat child. Said I don’t answer fat children’ Should we go on…. This list is ENDLESS. Katie Hopkins has many times stood accused of displaying views that have been described by critics as Islamophobic, racist, classist, and misogynistic. STAFFORD does not want Katie Hopkins. unlike: refugees, breastfeeding mothers, overweight and underweight people, people of all religions, people of all nationalities , All cultures and colour, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non binary and every one else on the gender and sexuality spectrum , Disabled people, Autistic children and adults, those suffering with mental health issues, and people with dementia WHO are ALL WELCOME. KATIE HOPKINS is NOT and NEVER WILL BE, WELCOME HERE. The people of Stafford INSIST Freedom Leisure cancel her show.810 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Marnie Phillips

Save Arran Outdoor Education CentreThe AOER is a wonderful purpose-built resource that has taught many youngsters real values, and given thousands of memorable experiences that have lasted their whole lives. Being on the island the resource has introduced young people to the island, giving them a love of where we call home, resulting in them drawing parents and friends on return visits and boosting our visitor numbers and tourism. It would be devasting to us if it were allowed to be shut and as a community we must fight to keep this valuable asset, which the shutting thereof would save very little money, but in fact, in the long run cost us very dearly.2,905 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Sheenah Fletcher

Commit to extending Free School Meals to every child in primary schoolWe are living through the greatest cost of living crisis in a generation, and too many families with young children are being pulled into poverty. Free school meals for every child will put money back in parents’ pockets. That’s money they can use to pay for other essentials for their children, from heating and food at home to hobbies and after-school clubs. Teachers and support staff see the difference a healthy school dinner makes. When children are hungry, they can’t learn. It’s hard for them to concentrate and harder for them to reach their potential. Free School Meals for all would mean every child can learn and succeed. For the first three years of school, every child in England gets a hot dinner – and no child under seven wants for food while they're at school. But from Year 3 on, millions of children as young as 7 miss out on a healthy meal at school. In 2020, Scotland pledged to extend Free School Meals for every child in primary education. This year, Wales said they’ll do the same. It is time for England to catch up. Providing a Free School Meal for every child in primary school will ensure all children can flourish and no child is left behind.82,435 of 100,000 SignaturesCreated by The Mirror

Stop road traffic accidents on Howard RoadThere have been numerous serious accidents on Howard Road in the last 5 years, one of them fatal. We urgently need speed control measures on Howard Road in order to reduce the risk of further damage, casualties or loss of life. With the recent development of the all through school at St Marks there is expected to be many more school children using Howard Road to get to school and we need to keep them safe.132 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Mike Taylor

Keep Old Heath & Hythe in Colchester ConstituencyHow does it make sense for Old Heath and the Hythe to be put in with Harwich & North Essex, which are almost entirely made up of rural areas? The only urban part is Harwich, 20 miles away. Local residents in Old Heath and the Hythe have very different needs and little in common with Harwich & North Essex constituency. They have strong connections and shared facilities with New Town and the rest of Colchester. A rural MP representing a small section of central Colchester in the far corner of their constituency would not understand it fully or give it the attention it needs. Old Heath is barely a mile away from the Town Hall, it is one of the most important historic areas in the history of Colchester and central to its identity. The city owes its existence to the port at the Hythe that enabled it to flourish from Roman times up to just a few years ago. Our historic industries like Paxmans were in Old Heath, and the Hythe is currently central to Colchester's regeneration plans. It's an area that affects every resident of Colchester in some way and should be represented by the same MP as the rest of the urban centre of the city.303 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Gail Collins

Improve bus services for Ardsley and Robin HoodEveryone deserves to be able to use a regular reliable bus service to connect them to the places and people that matter to them. Recent changes by Arriva Yorkshire to the 118 service so that it terminates at the White Rose Centre and changes to the frequency of the 110 service, as well as First's decision to scrap evening services on the 47 and 48 mean that workers, students and shoppers can not get around easily. We're calling on the bus companies to review their decisions, put people above profit and provide better services for residents. Please sign and share our petition.234 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Holroyd-Case
