Our local environment effects us on every level. When we hear the birdsong in the morning it is because there is natural grass where those birds can dig for worms and forage for insects in order to survive. People are replacing their laws with plastic grass and using outdoor plastic plants. We have already lost so much of our gardens to driveways and now there is an upsurge of replacing nature with plastic. This is detrimental to us all and to the irreplaceable cycle of wildlife around us. Please back the petition to ban these products.

To help give myself and domesticated rabbits support and all the love to help get them the recognition they truly deserve. I've recently had a distressing week with my 9 lionhead rabbits all dropping dead one after the other within 4 days I'm having hay food etc tested and now a rabbit may have to be dug up if these samples come back negative very distressing for myself when a simple blood or wee sample could of determined the cause. I was told because their exotic they won't do blood test so chances are they can then be treated wrongly. The owners should have an option to be given a sample and get it tested themselves privately. I'd like to see rabbits with the same rights as a cat and dog. As they are the third most popular pet and the least thought of or neglected. I'd like more food and accessories on the shelves the laws 1939 and 1954 need addressing. All rabbits but mainly pet rabbits need recognition and dignity. They should be treated the same way that they treat their owners with love care respect. There is over 1 million adult rabbit owners in UK 2% of the owners raising them indoors.

This should be resolved to avoid further health issues and also money costs of the associates which are spending money buying food instead of eating the food provided by the Marriott Hotel as mentioned in every associate contract when signed.

There needs to be mass protest globally to put pressure on governments around the world to stop the use of plastics

Hi, I am Amy Hobson. My 4 year old daughter was attacked by an American bulldog and she had to have surgery and over 40 stitches to her face. I want a ban on dangerous dogs. There needs to be a license put in place to own certain dogs. There needs to be more support after dog attacks for people and children. This is important because there is to many dog attacks happening and nothing is really being done about it, there are no campaigns out there. There is no support out there for after dog attacks to help people get through it or over come what happened.

The Victoria Linen Works building on Clair Street, Scotland’s last surviving linen factory, is a testament to Kirkcaldy and Fife’s industrial heritage. Now it's to be destroyed for a cut and paste Farmfoods Store! Generations of locals were employed there, and many gave long-service to a company with a paternal approach to its workforce. Their hard work and memories are to be erased with the wreckers demolition ball, lost forever and replaced by nothing. Stop the demolition and instead redevelop and retain the building. Farmfoods or any other store would then have a more prominent standing and reputation within the town along with the retail value of the building being higher as well as the surrounding neighbourhood. The destruction is completely short sighted and a complete loss to everyone. Don't destroy, renovate and grow.

Marius, the baby giraffe killed in Copenhagen then later dissected in front of visitors; A three month old baby bear in Sweden, killed because he was being bullied by his father, later stuffed to show the public; Nine lion cubs in Sweden, killed for being “surplus”; Sammi and Becca, two piglets in Edinburgh zoo, killed by the zoos vet to, ironically, adhere to the european breeding project in which “surplus” animals are to be put to death; A zebra in Norway, killed and given to a lion in front of visitors; seven healthy lion cubs killed in the notorious south lakes zoo just for being born; even as recent as April of 2023 in Dundee, Scotland, where four wolves were killed just because they displayed anxiety after their leader was euthanised following an operation. The list is horrifically long, too long to include here. The figure given by zoos in Europe for the number of “surplus” animals killed is 7,500, though the actual number is likely far greater. This is unfortunately taking place on a far too regular basis. Contemporary zoos and other animal organisations perpetuate their narrative of being for the safety and conservation of animals. In what way does culling animals that are healthy achieve this? Throughout the world, wild groups of animals are culled, the reason given being for the benefit of the group by removing ill or elderly members or condensing the group to prevent food shortages. This reason is also given for culled animals in captivity, however this issue is supposed to be impossible in zoos, and often one of the reasons that they are in captivity to begin with. If there are too many of an animal then they shouldn’t be in captivity as they’re not in need of conservation. There are a huge number of endangered or vulnerable animals that could be in conservation areas instead. Along with banning this hideous aspect of captivity, statistics for animal deaths should be published to prove they were necessary. While we unfortunately aren’t capable of changing the laws of these other countries just yet, we can demand justice for zoo animals in the United Kingdom, and urge the government to protect them from these disgusting, senseless deaths. After all, if you and your families lives were in the hands of others, wouldn’t you want them to be safe and free from an environment where whether they live or die is essentially a game of Russian roulette?

In the last few months, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been in the headlines and making huge leaps forward. But with the emergence of AI comes risks. AI has already shown signs of bias, given out false information and could cause a huge number of job losses. And thousands of tech insiders have even called on the development to be paused. It’s so important we don’t waste time regulating AI like we have done with our gambling laws. The way people gamble now is unrecognisable since they were last updated in 2005. But thanks to campaigners and people all across the country, the gambling act is being changed by the government for the digital age. There’s no reason why new laws cannot be next on their list to ensure artificial intelligence is used correctly.

Two years ago I was one of the nine million adults in the UK who can't read. I could not read my daughter's school report, and I could not read the manuals for the machines I service at work. Now with the help of a reading charity, Read Easy, and its volunteer coaches, I can read well, and write this petition. Now I can help my daughter with her homework, and I have been given more responsibility by my employer. I have tried to encourage people by talking to newspapers, on the radio, and on TV. Now I am asking the Education Minister to ensure that the sort of assistance I was given will be available for all of those nine million people that want it. If you are fortunate enough to find reading easy, you probably had no idea how many people in this country find it impossible. How would you feel if you were dying for the toilet and couldn’t go? On top of that to hold it in can make you very ill. You would get arrested or fined if you did it on the street and not everyone can hold it in!

ScotRail are proposing to end the fast, limited stop, servcies between Glasgow and Inverclyde. This will affect both the Gourock and Wemyss Bay lines. This would have a detrimental effect on people who rely on the trains and would represent a significant reduction in service in Inverclyde and in the quality of those services. At a time when we are trying to persuade people to leave their cars at home, this risks undermining these messages and putting more pressure on Inverclyde's roads. It also undermines local economic development and projects currently being undertaken by the UK and Scottish Governments and Inverclyde Council to reverse depopulation. We are addressing this petition to both Scotrail and the Scottish Government, who own ScotRail. By joining this campaign you can make your voice heard and tell ScotRail and the Scottish Government that we do not want these services cut.
