  New Romney Skatepark Needs to be Bigger

  With F51 being built locally in Folkestone the Worlds first multistory skatepark, let alone the Olympic's it's clear that skating popularity is going to continue to grow for many years to come and with New Romney Skatepark already becoming overcrowded its imperative we update it sooner than later to keep up with the needs of our sporting community and ensure a safe place for all to come and enjoy the recreational space available as fully as possible

  Whitchurch skate park redevelopment project

  The current skatepark has become outdated. Its age and condition have made it no longer fit for purpose both in usability and safety. The metal ramps that were once standard practice for local parks are now recognised to be dangerous, in damp conditions they are extremely slippery, and in hot weather, they can burn skin from the heat. The rivets holding the ramps together are beginning to fail exposing sharp edges of the metal sheets. We are suggesting a complete redevelopment of the skatepark area in up-to-date building materials, which will be safer and more enjoyable to skate on, last longer and aid beginners and experts of all active sports.

  Because many kids teens and adults alike are getting into skateboarding after lockdown and the closest skatepark is a small old metal park which is mostly made for more experienced skaters. Alot of us will benefit from it.

  Kings Norton skatepark extension & repairs

  Kings norton skatepark has played a big part in giving skateboarders, bmxers and scooterists a purpose built and safe environment to use for the last 15+ years. The existing park has fallen into disrepair and needs some attention. An extension of the park would benefit the local community, gives young people a place to go and an opportunity to try something new.

  Save kent street skatepark

  North east lincolnshire council has ignored the action sports community in grimsby for years and their actions speak louder than words. I’ve grown up skateboarding this area and all i’ve seen is more and more facilities taken away from us. Years ago they already stopped taking responsibility for the skatepark, it hasn’t had lights for over 5 years and I can’t ever remember the bins not being broken yet they claim they spend £3000 a year maintaining the site? As of this year we are left with three skateparks in all of grimsby and cleethorpes. The first being trinity road skatepark. The council has long abandoned this site with the lights also not being in working order for 5+ years, it is now privately owned by the boxing centre that took over the old youth club building (which was also abandoned around the same time) The second being the private owned indoors skatepark ‘ghettopark’ which costs £8 for 2 hours use. The third and final is kent street, our last remaining free to use skatepark for the whole area of grimsby and cleethorpes and the council want to demolish it. In a year like 2020 full of so many negatives the one beaming light I’ve witnessed over this year is the amount of youths picking up a skateboard this year and spending more time exercising, it’s so amazing to see. There isn’t a time where these facilities are more desperately needed than now.
