6 days mandatory sick pay allowance
Make it mandatory that all companies should pay a minimum of 6 days sick pay allowance each year after being with a company for over 18 months. No one should have to work when they are sick because they can’t afford to have their wages deducted - this adds further stress and worry plus spreads illness in the workplace.
Why is this important?
This is important because people can not afford to have their wages deducted due to illness and people should not be forced to work when they are ill because they won’t be able to pay their bills. The stress and impact this has on someone’s mental health is unacceptable. Companies should have a duty of care to look after their employees.
