Covid tests profits should be injected in the NHS

Sir,
With vaccination and booster well underway in the UK, we should be seeing the end of the tunnel. But, strangely, we seem to go backwards with over 80000 cases a day and more restrictions on the way. People keep testing themselves every time they go out to meet their friends or go travelling. This brings billions of pounds into the pockets of private labs. Could the government introduce a windfall tax on these profits to invest more in the NHS?
This could help training more staff, opening more beds, and encouraging surgeries to see their patients in person instead of letting them overcrowd emergency services.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards

Why is this important?

Dear friends,
I'm amazed by the number of tests which are carried out these days in the UK and the amount of money which is spent on them. Therefore, I'd like to attract attention to this issue, as I find absurd that private companies cash on tests, while money is so much needed in hospitals and surgeries to keep up with the waiting lists.
