Dazzling car headlights are dangerous

Having talked with many people about this, I know I am not alone in struggling to see clearly when oncoming traffic headlights are shining directly into my eyes. I think this is caused by a combination of headlights being brighter than they need to be in areas which have street lighting and the number of ‘ bigger cars’ so the level is too high .
For those few moments it is often impossible to see pedestrians, road signs and possible dangers .
I would ask that car manufacturers do some research into this problem to keep everyone on the roads safer.
