FINNS CROSSING - Pedestrian crossings in Steyning, West Sussex
URGENTLY address the need for pedestrian crossings in Church Street and Shooting Field in Steyning, West Sussex.
Why is this important?
My 12 year old son Finn was involved in a car accident on Thursday 1st February 2018.
It occurred at the junction of Church Street and Church Lane in Steyning. He was walking back from school at around 3.30pm, crossing the road with his best friend Jack and numerous other students, when a car clipped his left leg and ran over both of his feet.
Church Street and Shooting Field are areas where the local Preschools, Primary school and both sites of the Grammar School are accessed.
They are the local ‘school run’ roads.
There have been numerous accidents and near misses in these areas over the years and there is nothing in place to help the pedestrians cross safely.
After being personally affected, I feel it is my duty to draw attention to a much over looked issue before a more serious accident occurs.
