Honour John Burkhill "Mad Man With A Pram" with a star outside Sheffield Town Hall.

Why is this important?

John is in his 70s. Has lost both his wife and his daughter and has tirelessly walked the streets of Sheffield raising money for Macmillan Cancer. He is out rain or shine and deserves this honour for his hard work and dedication raising money for this worthwhile cause.

Wow thank you sooooo much. Just about at 9000 now. We will be closing the petition at the end of February ready for the Council meeting on 25th March. Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported, shared and continue to highlight our campaign...

Next step is Council discussion for which we only needed 5000 signatures - this will now add far much more weight to our plea to get John his well deserved star. We will post regular updates on social media and hope that Sheffield Star, Sheffield Live and the radio stations may give us coverage.

Thank you to Sheffield Star posting the article last week - the signatures have rocketed - we are now pushing 9,000. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have now been in touch with MPs for the last push. Thank you to everyone for getting on board with this and thank you to each and every one of you who have supported us this far - you are all amazing.

John said when asked what he thought about this campaign in interview that to receive a star from the people of Sheffield would be an absolute honour. John said that just the news that 5000 signatures had been received in two days filled his eyes with tears.
