More Parking Spaces at Dorking Main Railway Station
For years, commuters using Dorking Railway Station have struggled to find a space in the car park at peak times because there are simply not enough spaces to meet demand. As a result, commuters are parking near the station and in surrounding rural villages causing congestion and road safety issues.
District Councillor Michelle Watson says ‘Mole Valley commuters and residents have had enough of searching for a parking space and finding the car park full by 8am and their residential streets clogged up because of lack of parking’. It is time for the CEO of Govia Thames Link to approve creating more spaces in the car park even if that means creating a second level. With Future Mole Valley well underway now to create another 5200 homes the situation is only going to get worse.
