Dear signatory,
Following the rejection of the first application for the permanent site of the new Welsh Comprehensive School in Newport, the Council decided to resubmit the application. This meeting takes place next Thursday, May 19th at 5 pm in the Council Chamber. Although the outcome of the last meeting was a blow and a disappointment, we have continued to work very closely with Council Officers to ensure that a permanent site would be found soon for our children. We very much hope that the Council fully supports this plan next Thursday. May we ask you to communicate with members to encourage them to attend and to carefully consider the proposal - which we believe is a strong application and one that will ensure that the pupils of Ysgol Gyfun Gwent Is Coed and Duffryn High School and indeed the whole of Duffryn and Newport communities, will benefit from a strong vote of confidence in their communities.
Thank you all for your support. Sincerely, Elin Maher
