Award Paddy Mayne the Victoria Cross
Posthumously award the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest British award for gallantry in the face of the enemy to Blair 'Paddy' Mayne.
Why is this important?
There is fresh interest in the soldier due to the second series of BBC drama SAS Rogue Heroes.
Paddy served with distinction during the WW2 becoming one of the British Army's most highly decorated officers.
He was nominated to receive the Victoria Cross, a decoration which King George VI remarked "so strangely eluded him". General Montgomery signed off on the nomination, but for whatever reason he never received it.
In this the 80th year of VE Day and the 70th of his death help rectify this oversight.
