Park Lane Havering: 20mph and Zebra Crossing
There is no safe crossing (zebra) in Park Lane, despite it being on the walk to Hylands School, Park Lane shops, and the Park Lane Recreation Ground. We, the undersigned, therefore demand 1) the introduction of a 20mph speed limit to slow traffic on the road; and 2) installation of at least one zebra crossing halfway down the road and (near the shops) to allow children, families and older adults to cross safely and with the right of way.
Why is this important?
This is important for:
- safety including of children on their way to school and play
- to promote active travel for health and to reduce air pollution
- to promote use of the local park lane shops
