Reinstate Palestine on Google's maps
We, the undersigned, hereby request Her Majesty's Government of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland petitions the United States government and the US Company Alphabet Inc on the matter of the removal of the label "Palestine" from Google maps and Google Earth renderings.
It is the case that as of the end of July 2016, the label "Palestine" has been removed from the products mentioned in map rendering, though it still can be used in searches. Instead of "Palestine" the entire area now shows only the label "Israel".

Why is this important?
Palestine is a state recognised by the United Nations and by almost all countries, notably with the exception of countries of the North American continent and Australia.
Google map products are widely-used across the world, almost to the point of exclusivity and as such have very significant influence and control of the way people of the world think. It is extremely important therefore that the products are unbiased and fairly represent the thinking of all peoples and states in the world. The removal of "Palestine" as a rendered label violates this and imposes a view held only by a small minority of countries. It is not appropriate for US corporate interests to dictate to the world in this way. We request the UK government act to urge the US government and Alphabet Inc. directly to correct this matter and re-instate the rendering of the label "Palestine" on Palestinian terrotories.
