Remove Katie Hopkins Twitter account
Katie Hopkins has been causing online offence for a long time with racist and bigoted comments targeting minority groups and seeking to stir discord and discontent. Her most recent inflammatory remark stated that she believes Muslim men are taught by Islam to rape white women. We believe her deliberate attempt to stir up hate against the Islamic faith has gone too far.
Why is this important?
We recognise and welcome the need for free speech on social media but we also acknowledge that hate speech is not free speech. It is simply not acceptable for a person to tell malicious lies about entire communities for the sole purpose of her own self promotion. Katie's comments on the Islamic faith do not just offend they endanger the safety and well being of innocent people going about their business.
