Resignation of Justin Tomlinson - Government Minister for DWP (Disabled)

Justin Tomlinson is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Department for Work and Pensions) (Disabled People). Surely in his position he has a duty of care to ensure that Disabled People's needs are met.
However, Justin Tomlinson heartlessly voted to reduce the benefits that Disabled People are entitled to. Justin Tomlinson is not fit for office. It's his job to ensure that Disabled People have the means to live, but instead, he's destroying their lives.

Why is this important?

Our Government are supposed to be a democratically elected Government working for and on behalf of the people of our nation. In reality, we have a wannabe Mafia, hellbent on privatising our NHS, privatising our schools and destroying our welfare state.
In 2012, Justin Tomlinson, the Tories’ Swindon North MP, voted to prevent disabled children from receiving at least a two-third higher rate of universal credit. His vote to block this increase is one that will seriously hurt some of the poorest children in this country, for example, those who are deaf, have cerebral palsy or even Down’s Syndrome. In addition, he's reaffirmed his cynical approach by supporting the cuts in ESA.
The title ‘Disabilities Minister’ can be confusing. People can be forgiven for believing that this job is one in which the holder will be an advocate for the disabled. However, he's failed on that, and as such, should resign his position in Government immediately.
If you or I were to so inept in our jobs, we'd be sacked. Let's give him the opportunity to do the right thing and resign.

When I woke this morning, I was listening to the radio (radio 5) and was bloody annoyed with our political system, I chose to start a petition. I honestly thought it'd get maybe 50 hits or so, but at the time of writing we're at 717 and it's gained the attention of one of our local media outlets (the Swindonian). I live in Swindon (Robert Buckland is my MP), in 2010 I voted liberal, in 2015 I voted green. I have in the past voted labour and SNP (I lived in Scotland until I was 37). However, I vote with my feet and with how I feel about people's behaviour and policies. Our current Government are killing this country. I can't idly stand by and watch.
Making the petition was my way of standing up for what I believe in (my grandmother taught me to always stand up for what I believe in, even if I'm the only one standing). This is my stand.

When I started this petition this afternoon, it had not occurred to me that IDS would resign any time soon (or at all). I'm sure Mr Tomlinson's phone, email, all means of communication will be completely "off the hook" for a few days seeing as his boss has just bolted and left him dealing with the "Disabled" element of the DWP alone without leadership.

Justin Tomlinson has no morals. He had 3 years to think about how he failed the Disabled (almost a year of which he was in his current office) and he still "chose" to cut ESA payments.

We need an ADVOCATE for Disabled Rights. Not someone operating the guillotine.

I doubt he'll do the right thing and resign, he's probably eyeing up IDS's job as we speak.

So IDS has resigned. I hope I'm not being cynical but I honestly don't believe that IDS has resigned for "moral" reasons. He's looking out for himself, and himself only.
In my humble opinion, here's what I think (my personal opinion only).
IDS is a politician. He was Tory leader who couldn't get elected. He's BRExit - as is Boris.
IDS can see the political tide has turned on the Tory party, and like the rich folk on the titanic, he's got himself a spot on the lifeboat out.
I'm sure IDS will be back to lead the vote of no confidence on Cameron when the time comes.
IDS resigning should send a message to our Government, but undoubtedly it'll fall on deaf ears.
