Save our 60 columns in total, all old Victorian Street Lights.

There are 60 columns in total, all old Victorian Street Lights.
Seems they are going to be very pricey to renovate and get working again.
If something isn’t done soon the council will cull them. Every year they let go by will cost more and more to restore them.
In this day and age there is really no excuse for such blatant destruction of the town's heritage or indeed any culls of our heritage.
TDC need to take action and restore these old Victorian Street Lamps and look at prioritising certain tourism assets in Clacton ; not just leave them!
This being one of them, they should look for external funding opportunities or pay for them from council funds.
Whilst the aspiration is to one day see the Victorian Lights restored to their former glories, it is estimated that each column will cost in the region on £1,500. Significant works are required on the electrics to the columns.
It is also hoped that TDC add this to its priority projects list.
There are no plans at all ,and with all the money this Council is wasting year on year something needs to be done about restoring the old Victorian street lamps along our promenade.
(photos of how the lamps used to look like when they were working in 1995.) Wouldn't it look great if these were restored and working again.

Most lamp-posts of this design, which formerly lined Clacton seafront, had their upper sections dismantled in 2014, including this one.

Members of the United Kingdom Association of Street Lighting Enthusiasts suggest on their website Link that these Clacton seafront lamp-posts were probably late Victorian in date and certainly made by the firm Johnson and Phillips.

Have we considered using the old lamp posts for advertising by hanging banners off them to advertise local businesses or events. I found a company Flagpole Express (flagpoleexpress.co.uk ) , who seem to do this sort of thing. Considering the location, you will have no trouble selling advertising space, especially for events such as the Clacton Airshow, and I am sure there are other local businesses that would like the additional advertising.
Any revenue could be ring fenced to restore the lights back to their former glory. Might be worth considering.

I’m looking for some local businesses and traders to help fund this.
Please share amongst friends and on social media.
Your sincerely
