Save our Woodland
Hungerhil Woodland in Edenthorpe is full of Mature trees, biodiversity and Wildlife. Doncaster Council passed the site for Industrial use when they first purchased the land from the farmer 40 years ago. To protect the Biodiversity and Wildlife that has arisen in the last 40 years there, we would like the Doncaster Planning Department to rescind Planning permission to Developer's thus avoiding the loss of the only valuable recreation and mindful asset we have left for Edenthorpe Residents old and young to enjoy. The cooling effect that this Woodland brings to the Village is immeasurable and will be needed in the future.
Why is this important?
The Biodiversity and mental health benefits and Cooling of the area in the extreme heat we will have to endure in the future cannot be overstated. Also the Woodland has been officially recognised as a flood plane and if the trees are felled there will be excessive flooding in the Winter and the Carbon released into the atmosphere will only exasperate Global Warming. With the two Schools so close by surely this can't be a good idea for the Children future.
