Scrap the bedroom tax for all disabled households
I would like them to stop discriminating against households with disabled adults which have a spare room for a sleep in carer or specialist equipment storage ( such as commodes, hoists, etc.) so that family carers like myself are not forced to use our lounge as a bedroom due to not being able to share a room with our disabled spouse.
Currently households where a child is disabled are exempted from the bedroom tax if they have a spare room usedoor by a carer or to store equipment to aid in care provision.

Why is this important?
Families where the spouse of a disabled adult are already on an extremely low income so having to pay the bedroom tax, which carers for children where for example one parent may be earning an adequate wage are already exempted from, is not only discriminatory, it leads to further financial pressure on top of the stress of being a carer.
How it will be delivered
I plan to deliver this to my local councillor and MP so they can present it on our behalf both locally and more importantly nationally.
