Let's Sort Walsall Grey Bin Blunder Out!
Our aim is for Walsall Council to actually listen to their residents and either cancel the proposed fortnighly collection or to give everyone who has asked for a larger bin to have one.
Why is this important?
Walsall Council have put into action changes to our weekly bin collection to fortnightly. They offered a larger grey bin for residents who feel they need a one but they have to meet certain criteria that was listed on the leaflets distributed. 2,000 people in Walsall have had their applications for a larger bin rejected.
I am sure I am not the only resident of Walsall to question the affects this will have on fly tipping, unpleasants smells for having two weeks old food, nappies, waste from pets etc in bins and the increase in vermin it will attract.
It also raises the question if in doing this saves the council money, why we as residents cannot have a reduction in our council tax for the reduced fortnightly service?
