• Boltonians are Lancastrians - Campaigning for Bolton's Lancashire Heritage to be restored
Lancashire Day was recently on the agenda at a Bolton Council Meeting with a request to reintroduce Lancashire to road signs and street furniture. This was quickly dismissed by the council leader, Cliff Morris with the response of "I wish you would get over it", he told Cllr John Walsh. "Bolton has been part of Greater Manchester for 30 years." This is not what the people of Bolton want to hear with an overwhelming 97% in favour of ending their association with Greater Manchester and restoring Bolton's Lancashire heritage.

  • Safe Cycling for Kids on Bristol Downs
We are a growing group of families in North Bristol who want our children to grow up as fit, healthy and confident cyclists. At present there are very few opportunities for safe traffic-free cycling in this area; currently we need to load bikes on to cars and drive to places such as Festival Way or Ashton Court. Cycling on the Downs is forbidden due to a bylaw which was made in 1861. The Downs Committee (7 Merchant Venturers and 7 Councillors) has permitted a short stretch of cycle path near the Water Tower. Apart from that, this uniquely beautiful and flat parkland can only be explored on foot or via the road. Temporary closures of Circular Road on the Downs would create a brilliant car-free loop of over 3km, which children of all ages and cycling abilities could enjoy. It would also open up the Downs to people with disabilities who don’t feel safe cycling on the road alongside cars. Our campaign has support from Sustrans, The Bristol Cycling Campaign, CTC Bristol, LifeCycle, Travel West, Bikeability and Bristol Public Health. We want you to help us show the Downs Committee that there are many, many people who feel that the Downs should be a place where children can enjoy cycling in safety. By signing this petition and pledging to join our rides during Bristol Green Capital 2015, you will help to convince the committee that children should indeed have the freedom to ride on the Downs, and that this can be arranged in a way that accommodates the interests of all users of the Downs.

  • I demand that the BBC allow the SNP to participate in the UK General Election debate.
Simply put this is undemocratic, if you allow UKIP, who's popularity mainly exists down in the South of England to take part in the UK general election debate, then you should for democratic purposes allow the SNP leader to take part in this debate also.

  • Stop The Boris Evictions
Because more than 20 families are about to be made homeless with nowhere to go. These are mainly nurses and people who work in schools and local care services and are on modest incomes. Most have paid their rent and lived in their perfectly good homes for years. They are receiving no assistance from the Mayor in finding new homes. Because of local rental costs, most will have to move away and remove their children from local schools. This is social housing controlled by the Mayor that should be preserved: not destroyed in favour of high price luxury housing! See BBC report http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-29574993

  • Green Party Representation on UK General Election Debates
The Green Party has had an elected representative in Parliament since 2010 and therefore must be treated in the same way for broadcast debates as all of the other parties. This is vital for our democracy and will encourage voter participation and help to challenge voter apathy.

  • Fight Edinburgh Allotments Rent Rise
It's unfair and contrary to Allotment legislation. It breaches an agreement that governs prices in Edinburgh. It will make allotments unaffordable. It is prejudicial against the poor, disabled and elderly. It would make Edinburgh allotments the most expensive in the UK. It is contrary to healthy living policies of Council and Government.

  • Lets keep Castle Beach free from dogs over the summer months.
Please keep our beaches free from dogs during the summer months. It's not the dogs wanting this...it's the owners! It's not just about the dog mess that has been left behind(even within the last few days.) It's dogs running around, kicking up sand, arguments it's going to cause among people, adults getting annoyed with dog owners because the dogs are shaking over them, fouling in the rock pools, going for food....jumping up on their kids. I love dogs. I have one of my own. But I am 100% against this!

  • That the Trustees of the Canal and River Trust withdraw the current consultation on Moorings Sale
Despite consistent opposition to the policy since its outset from organisations such as the National Association of Boat Owners (NABO), The Residential Boat Owners Association (RBOA) and other representative groups; Despite criticism from the Environment Committee at the Greater London Authority, which stated; 'CRT should review its system of auctioning moorings, and seek a system that is fairer to those using and contributing to the waterway network.' (see Recommendation 3 in 'Moor or Less: Moorings on London's Waterways', Nov 2013; http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor-assembly/london-assembly/publications/moor-or-less-moorings-on-london-s-waterways); Despite the All Party Parliamentary Waterways Group stating, 'The APPG believes that this policy needs to be reviewed to encourage more diversity on the waterways', (See link to the report in http://www.nabo.org.uk/index.php/reference-section/crt/626-appg-waterways-report-on-crt-s-performance), Despite many other critics of it's policy, CRT has not included an option to reconsider the policy as a whole in its current consultation. Many believe the policy artificially inflates moorings prices as the policy only takes account of the maximum amount someone will pay for moorings. Many people believe that the detailed auction procedures are far from transparent and many allegations of unfairness and suspected manipulation of the process by CRT have been made. Many believe that the setting of reserve prices represents a mechanism to artificially inflate prices and cite examples of where moorings have repeatedly been left un-let at the reserve price, suggesting that the reserve price is more than the market can stand. In addition it appears to many that the process of seemingly setting reserve prices too high means CRT may be foregoing rental income in order to fix market prices. • What is happening with Denny Town Centres Regeneration?
For far too long Denny & Dunipace have been the forgotten area of the Falkirk Council area. For too many years the town has been neglected and left without any development and investment.

  • CASTLE BEACH FOR DOGS TOO
For years I've listened to locals and visitors complaining that we are banned from enjoying a little bit of beach in the hot summer! So I decided to try and do something about it instead of complaining! Castle beach has been chosen after extensive questioning of local people in the area, as its completely tidal, and because it's a central beach it would be easy to monitor for any issues that come up. It also has easy access for all and has a great cafe for the important tea & coffee breaks! We believe it will be an extra asset to Falmouth and encourage more dog friendly visitors to the area too! We believe it will not only benefit the local, tax paying community but will also enhance the facilities for the growing number of visitors with dogs in the summer.

  • STOP the demolition of Earl's Court Exhibition Centre on public health grounds
Local residents and neighbourhood businesses DO NOT WANT the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Planning and Development Control Committee to approve the Reserved Matters Application Ref 2014/03232/DET due soon, before a full independent public health impact assessment is carried out. If any demolition and reconstruction of this HUGE 77-acre West London district is to go ahead, the site and its neighbouring areas will suffer ground contamination, noise pollution (heavy demolition traffic + the accumulative impact of noise), vibration and risks to health during asbestos removal. Furthermore, air pollution in this area, already regularly breaching European air quality standards, make air quality monitoring stations for Hammersmith and Fulham residents essential.

  • Restore Funding to The People's History Museum
The People's History Museum in Manchester is the only museum in England dedicated to celebrating the history of working people. It tells the story of working people's contribution to this country in both peacetime and war. It charts their struggles from the deportation of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, through Lancashire mill workers during the American Civil War as well as working people's solidarity with anti-apartheid campaigners in South Africa. And now, during the centenary of the First World War, the museum's current exhibition tells the story of the working people of Britain throughout the war. The museum's deputy editor Cath Birchall has said: “They [the government] don’t see the importance of a national museum that shows the effects of the war on ordinary people.” A war where approximately 750,000 people died in combat and more than a million were injured fighting abroad, and which also resulted in huge numbers of domestic casualties with as many as 100,000 dying of malnutrition and disease. Please stop the cuts and save this national treasure. After all, in the words of Len McClusky, "History is not just about those who write it, but about those who live it. Working people and the labour movement have been at the forefront of all social and political changes this country has undergone over the past three centuries. We must defend the People’s Museum ... and safeguard the one museum dedicated to telling the story of us all".
