Sir Michael Deegan, do not impose the unsafe and unfair new contract on Junior DoctorsIt is widely recognised that junior doctors are the lifeblood of the modern NHS. They are the consultants of the future, and through years of dedicated training provide a truly 24 hour a day, seven day a week service. The proposed contract undermines safe working practices, reverts to a previously failed system and has been roundly rejected by the workforce. It is openly discriminatory against female doctors. The proposed changes are based on flawed analysis of data that suggests a “weekend effect” and while we are keen to improve safety in hospitals across the UK, this contract will harm patients, harm the workforce and harm the training of junior doctors. Further to the overwhelming rejection of this contract by junior doctors, they have huge support from consultant colleagues, multiple Royal Colleges and the public as a whole. Please publicly reject the imposition of this contract at Central Manchester NHS Foundation Trust and call for new negotiations without pre-condition in a mark of support for the hard working and dedicated staff of these fine hospitals. For more information about why the new contracts are unsafe and unfair, please visit the BMI website: http://oneprofession.bma.org.uk/ On Behalf of the Support Junior Doctors Manchester Campaign. Remove the exclusion of ostomy patients from the Blue Badge schemeCurrently those with colinic/bowel disorders and who have a permanent condition as a result of this are rejected from the Blue Badge scheme. Granted that this is true of many others as well, but ostomates usually have to carry with them a set of spares (from clothing to appliances) and having easy and close access to these would be a huge relief, especially in an emergency. Believe me, walking through a supermarket car park knowing that you clothes are soiled is not pleasant, and being able to be back at the car and safety would be a huge physical and psychological benefit. Likewise, many ostomates end up with hernias as a result of their surgery, meaning that carrying heavy items and distance can be challenging if not actually harmful, let alone the issues of having to stack/pack these into a boot or onto a back seat. There are over 100,000 ostomates in the UK currently who have to fend for themselves (I speak as one of these). Seeing others abuse the scheme of course makes one think that it should be tightened, but not to the exclusion of those with genuine needs.1,442 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Nigel Ashton

Sufficient parking for users of NHS facilities in ScotlandIt is stressful for people to have to drive around, for example with a sick relative, or going to work, going for treatment or trying to visit a loved one. Imagine how you feel if you are a grandmother, taking your grandchild to hospital after he/she sustains a painful injury only to find yourself looking for a parking space for 40 minutes. You find a space but have a twenty minute walk, carrying one child, another child in hand. You have a long wait for treatment then get two fretful children back to your car. It has been bashed, and you have a parking ticket. Yes, this really did happen. The effects of that experience stayed with the grandmother for days after the event. Imagine taking a loved one for exhausting radiotherapy. You drive round and round. You and your loved one end up with stress over and above the anticipatory stress about the treatment. This happens at every visit. Imagine trying to get to work. You cannot car share. You have children and carers to drop off/pick up before your shift starts. You get a parking space eventually, you rush a fifteen minute walk before your shift begins, but find the inevitable parking ticket at the end of your shift. People do not live simple hassle free lives in today's world. These example do not fit with government policy in relation to exercise, or reducing pollution. These situation do not harmonise with policy to improve well-being. We need action now.42 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Grace Moore

Save Paignton, Torbay, Hospital. Many local people rely on this hospital for various reasons. Many elderly and disabled people rely on this being a local hospital, easier to access than the larger Torbay Hospital, based in Torquay.133 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Sheila Amies-Byron

PLEASE re-instate P.R.R.T on the Cancer Drugs Fund in EnglandIn 2014 my husband Joe Bohen was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer: Neuroendocrine Tumours (NET.) It had already spread from his lungs to his liver, lymph nodes and spine when discovered and is inoperable, BUT the disease has been controlled by Lanreotide and he has since enjoyed a good quality of life. However, in March we were told that the tumours were growing again. As if that news wasn't bad enough, we were told that PRRT which could very likely stop further growth, was removed from the Cancer Drugs Fund last September and he can't have the drug. PRRT is available throughout Europe and in other parts of the UK - this decision only affects people living in England. How fair is that? Would Bruce Keogh (Chief Executive of NHS England) or Jeremy Hunt (Health Secretary) be happy if a member of their family needed this drug but was denied it because of their post code? Apparently, NICE are considering PRRT. Their deliberations will take until Autumn of 2017. That will simply be too late for Joe and hundreds of others living with this rare form of cancer. Please sign the petition to reverse this outrageous health inequality.4,086 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Jane Bohen

Stoke Gifford Park Run should stay FREE for allShame on them for trying to cash in on the success of Park Runs. How can they compare jogging in a park run on a public footpath to providing a serviced football pitches for a Sunday league teams. Their community is doing something to keep fit & all they can see is ££££ signs. This is the equivalent of asking people having a kick about on a Sunday afternoon (jumpers for goalposts) to pay for the privilege. Park runs are great for all communities. both for health and community spirit.75 of 100 SignaturesCreated by andrew acha

Petition: Pernicious Anaemia - Remove restrictions on Vitamin B12 jabs1 in 1000 people in this country suffer from this vitamin deficiency, the injection costs 55 pence and yet the NHS limits patients to 4 per year, why? In an age when more expensive treatments are freely sanctioned why is this cheap and effective treatment to thousands restricted. It makes no sense either economically or from a health perspective. Please help to change it.1,570 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Brian Harper

Stop Anyone Smoking Outside YG Maternity DoorsThe risks from smoke are already recognised extensively and this is why the policy exists so are unlikely to need listing here. Currently the strategy of having a policy and signs are not effective. I have observed it being an issue over years but was driven to create this petition recently due to attending maternity myself the last few months as an outpatient and then inpatient. Leaving with my new born through a cloud of no fewer than 8 smokers on either side of the door and smoke pouring in whilst I was waiting to leave drove me to take action.588 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Emma Griffiths Hughes

IRN BRU. Save our sugarPublic health. No carcinogens in our national drink. Changing fat for cancer is shortsighted. Some of us control our sugar intake and dont want stealth chemicals added instead. If you think I should avoid sugar in my childrens drink and replace it with a proven carcinogen then it really is april the first902 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Dog Gourley

Humans Before Houses - Build the link road firstWe the undersigned hereby call on all at Teignbridge District Council - district councillors; Simon Thornley, Ian Perry, and the other planning officers; Nicola Bulbeck, the chief executive officer; and Cllr Jeremy Christophers, the council leader - to put the safety of human lives in Dawlish first, before any further houses are built in the DA2 development. The three separate developers involved in Teignbridge District Council’s DA2 draft framework agreement, planning to build over 1000 new houses on adjoining land plots, are permitted to build and sell 50 houses each on their 3 separate developments, before Teignbridge considers it necessary to start to build the link road, from the Gatehouse Farm housing development, over the Shutterton Brook, through the Secmaton Farm housing development, and to the roundabout at Sainsburys to join the A379. Until then, Teignbridge District Council think it is acceptable to have all the construction traffic over residential roads such as Elm Grove Drive and Sandy Lane. With this logic, the people of Dawlish would be required to wait for 150 houses to be built, sold, and inhabited, before the new road is started. 150 houses will not appear overnight, so the people of Dawlish, especially: - residents on Elm Grove Road, Elm Grove Drive, and Sandy Lane; children attending the Gatehouse primary school, Dawlish Community College, Red Rock Youth Centre, and Dawlish United Youth Football and Mini Soccer FC; and people attending the leisure centre and playing fields - would have to endure many months of colossal amounts of heavily laden construction trucks, contractors’ vans, noise, extra traffic, and pot holes. These residential roads are not designed and built to endure months and years of heavy vehicles. Indeed they are already crumbling with numerous pot holes. We call on Teignbridge District Council to show the people of Dawlish the respect that is shown to Newton Abbot and Teignmouth, and to find the funds to build a service road for construction vehicles to use before any further building in the DA2 area developments. These funds will be repaid by the developers as they build the houses. If Teignbridge District Council can find in its reserves £13 million for a new shopping centre in Newton Abbot, and £2.5 million towards the Pavilions in Teignmouth, then the cost can surely be found to build a ‘base core’ service link road to be built before the construction of 150 new houses begins. Devon County Council has already agreed to funding the main bridge costs. The people of Dawlish should not have to wait for a fatality to happen on our streets before Teignbridge District Council realises that human lives are worth a whole lot more than 150 houses.736 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Cllr Alison Foden
