• Cheshire East's withdrawal of some supported bus services
The saving of £1.6 million would be counterproductive as cutting bus services in Cheshire East will have undesirable consequences and cause distress and inconvenience to many residents. We believe that the following groups would be more adversely affected; the elderly, disabled and infirm, the young and people on low incomes. Getting to work, shops, schools, colleges, doctors, banks, social events and hospital appointments would be made more inaccessible. We also believe that trade in towns and town markets will be affected. The stopping of evening services will have a negative affect on restaurants and pubs and other social groups. We are concerned that the withdrawal of bus services will result in more cars on the road and significant reduction in air quality. Many of the towns and villages are growing in size and as a result we should be given improved services not declining ones.

  • DETOX/REHABILITATION CENTRE BELFAST
WITH A VERY HIGH PERCENTAGE OF CHILDREN/YOUNG AND VULNERABLE ADULTS BECOMING ADDICTED TO SUBSTANCES (Many of whom suffer from Mental Health issues) IT IS A VERY MUCH NEEDED FACILITY TO SAVE OUR LOVED ONES. WE ARE THE ONLY PART OF THE UNITED KINGDOM THAT DOESN'T HAVE THIS FACILITY. EVERYDAY WE HAVE YOUNG PEOPLE AND VULNERABLE ADULTS TAKING THEIR OWN LIVES BECAUSE OF THE HOPELESSNESS OF TRYING TO SEEK HELP AND NONE BEING AVAILABLE, OUR HOSPITALS ARE BEING STRETCHED BEYOND COPING WITH CONSTANT ATTENDEES HAVING OVERDOSED OR SERIOUSLY SELF-HARMED THEN AFTER BEING TREATED THEY ARE SENT HOME TO DO THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN AS A MUM I HAVE BEEN CRYING OUT AND PLEADING FOR YEARS FOR SUCH A FACILITY AND AM TIRED OF BEING FOBBED OF BY THE DUAL DIAGNOSIS CRY AND BEING PASSED FROM PILLAR TO POST WITH SERVICES PASSING THE BUCK ONE SAYING IT IS A MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE THE OTHER SAYING IT IS AN ADDICTION ISSUE, WELL LETS SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY PROVIDING A FACILITY WHERE BOTH ISSUES CAN BE ADDRESSED. IT IS WRONG THAT AGENCIES ARE EXPECTING ADDICTS TO BE CLEAN FOR 6 WEEKS BEFORE THEY CAN ENGAGE WITH THEM IF THEY COULD BE CLEAN FOR 6 WEEKS THEY WOULDN'T NEED THE SERVICE AND IT IS WRONG FOR THOSE SUFFERING WITH MENTAL HEALTH TO HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THESE ARE PEOPLE WITH ILLNESSES WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AND THINGS NEED TO CHANGE. PLEASE HELP TO MAKE THESE CHANGES HAPPEN BY SIGNING THIS PETITION THANK YOU ANNIE DAVEY (Reaching Out Action Support Group)

  • Cheshire East: Save The Millbrook Unit
The proposed closure of the Millbrook Unit has serious implications for the health and wellbeing of thousands of Cheshire East residents across the entire borough and threatens to damage the lives and treatment of so many. Government and council funding cuts have left our local health services stretched to the max, with mental health provision now dangerously poor. The closure of the Millbrook Unit would mean patients and families having to drive over an hour to access the care and treatment they so desperately need and deserve in Chester or on the Wirral. At a time when we are facing a crisis in mental health, we cannot allow this to happen. (Petition organised by Rob Vernon on behalf of Macclesfield Constituency Labour Party)

  • Stop the St James's Surgery relocation to North Lynn
Many elderly patients who live opposite in the care homes will now have further to travel with no easily accessible bus routes. It's current location is close to the center of town and therefore easier to get to a chemist after your visit to the surgery.

  • Swimming pool for Bridgwater so that every one can access it
Its very important to have a pool that is suitable for all and to have a friendly environment that is taylor made for all abilities, a pool that young children and all ages with or with out a disability can stand or sit down independent with out being held at all times, its important for people to gain confidence by them self, sense of accomplishment, boost their confidence, relaxation for people with a disability is very important and to be able to use a pool that is suitable for them has many great benefits. also at the same time mixing with all kinds of people, with out being segrated, swimming as a recreational activity leaves you with a positive feeling which improves your mental health, individuals with disabilities can get more health benefis by being physically active, even though I believe evey one is unique, people with disabilities are limited in opportunities to be as physically active as people with out. allso I strongly believe its as much as important for young children to be able to stand in the water independently, and walk freely around. it will bring visitors and those who vist here from around to want to use our pool, as the pool we have now is not suitable for all to use in a freely independent way, as the shallowest end is 1meter high therefore no where suitable for some one who is under that height to use the pool independenly , its important for people to enter a pool unaided for confidence building.

  • Keep Batley Tennis Centre usage for Tennis
Batley ITI Tennis Centre was purpose built for grass roots tennis and as an indoor tennis training centre, and is the only indoor Pay and Play Centre outside of Leeds suitable for players of all levels and abilities. The centre is only in decline because KAL have not appointed a suitable dedicated tennis manager at the centre who would develop grass roots tennis in the locale and surrounding areas and build the centre back to its former popularity with mini-tennis training and tournaments and adult classes and sessions for all. The centre is also the home ground of Batley ITI Tennis Club who have mens, womens and mixed teams playing competitively in the HADTL league and the Wakefield Tennis League, and these members also pay and regularly attend the Pay and Play Sessions. The Club was born out of the first users of the Tennis Centre when it opened as an Indoor Tennis Initiative over 25 years ago and the club members are dedicated pay and play attendees at the Centre on a regular weekly basis. We believe the Centre should remain a dedicated Tennis Centre and by carefully selecting a Tennis Business Development manager in co-operation with the LTA, the Centre can return to a thriving tennis centre of excellence once again. It would also pay for itself that way. The costs involved in attracting the right personnel to run the centre are far less than the costs involved in changing the use of the centre to be a multi-sport non-tennis environment. Let's keep Tennis a grass roots sport in Batley available for every child to be able to experience tennis. Please keep Batley ITI Tennis Centre open for Tennis for all, as that is what it was built for, and let's rebuild the centre attendance up to its potential again by working in close association with the LTA to bring in the right Tennis Development Manager.

  • Guild Wheel: Ben Ashworth Way
Ben Ashworth is a hero and an inspiration. I was so sad to read that he passed away earlier today. Despite being diagnosed with ‘Terminal’ bowel cancer, Ben did not give up but fought it all the way – raising well over a quarter of a million pounds for cancer charities. Not through sympathy but through sheer bloody determination. In his last few years Ben ran over 24 marathons – he ran round the Guild Wheel in Preston twice in one day and for three years he organised ‘Cheeky Santa Dashes’ in Preston – persuading all and sundry to do a lap of the Avenham and Miller Parks wearing special shorts that had plastic backside cheeks protruding from the rear. All this to not only raise a fantastic amount of money, but also to raise awareness of this cruel disease. Read the blog - https://bensbowelmovements.com/

  • Don't centralise our acute mental health services.
What about working to keep mental health services in Perth rather than centralising all services to Dundee? You can't expect someone with a mental health issue to get better treatment miles away from their loved ones!

  • Give paramedics body armour
Today, following a Freedom of Information request, it was revealed shocking statistics that show that hundreds of addresses in the UK are considered 'dangerous places' for paramedics to go into. It is a sad state of affairs when it is unsafe for men and women, seeking only to help people in need of urgent medical attention, cannot enter a property without police escorts in place to protect them from harm. The homes have been blacklisted by the Ambulance Service because of previous incidents in which paramedics have been physically assaulted, (including being stabbed and beaten), subjected to verbal abuse or been attacked by dangerous dogs. The ambulance service is right to take every precaution to ensure the safety of its crews, but it is depressing that so many incidents are occurring. The tide of attacks on mercy crews is sadly still on the rise nationwide. Let's hope that this shameful tide turns soon and that the paramedics, who do such good work, will no longer be at such risk.

  • Removal of the Tampon Tax in the UK
This is important to millions of citizens in the United Kingdom as tampons are an essential and necessary item for women of all ages. It is not a 'luxury item' that can only be bought by people with the money to spare for them as tampons have been called on numerous occasions. They are essential to the natural process and function of a woman during puberty and later on in life that helps boost their confidence and prevents them from feeling anxious about needing to go buy tampons. Condoms are handed out for free to people to protect them and keep their healthcare in check, so why aren't tampons handed out for free to boost the health of millions of women?
