  • POOR MILITARY HOUSING
My son is currently serving in the army , his house is damp with mould in the majority of rooms, his youngest son has recently had his second chest infection but is only 1 year old ,the local doctor is convinced its due to the mould spores in his bedroom. Despite numerous complaints nothing seems to be getting fixed. Does someone serving their country really deserve to have to deal with poor housing as well as putting their lives on the line , and worry about their family when they really need to worry about where the next bullet or roadside bomb is coming from. He is not allowed to complain on social media so i'm doing it on his and his sons behalf.

  • Landale House - Cut the Rent
As students we are already paying above what we should for university halls. Many students have been treated in an unjust way and not had complaints resolved or listened to. Maintenance issues aren't resolved for long periods of time. Students receive no apology or compensation when things go wrong. The accommodation we expected upon arrival was not what we received due to false advertisement. We are fined for responsibilities that the landlord should take care of whilst not receiving sufficient housing for the price point we pay. It is important to allow students sufficient and affordable housing as well as to operate as a satisfactory landlord. Students struggle to afford living costs and should not be pressured into paying above what they should for the service they receive.

  • Stop Josh & Sam from being evicted from their family home.
Josh (21) and Sam (19) sadly lost their Mum just 3 months ago in November 2016. They are still suffering the trauma of this loss and are grieving but trying to keep going. A major part of the stability they have left is living in their family home full of memories of their mother and a sense of familiarity and comfort. Sovereign Housing Association has taken the decision to evict Josh and Sam. In addition Sovereign Housing Association has stated that they have no obligation or intention to rehouse the boys. This immoral and heartless decision threatens the emotional wellbeing of both Josh and Sam and could have a detrimental impact upon their capacity to try to rebuild their lives. Please help to urge Sovereign Housing Association to make an exception and allow Josh and Sam to stay in their family home. To Sovereign its just another house but to Josh and Sam its their home and its where they need to be.

  • Bantham 2017: stop the proposed development of Bantham village and beach.
When Nicholas Johnston bought the Bantham estate, much against the wishes of most locals, he promised that he would leave it untouched. Now he is proposing to develop both the village and the beach, even going so far as to say that he will not be making the new housing affordable for local people (which, in a part of the country that has some of the most unaffordable housing available, should be a priority for any development, rather than lining the pockets of a man who has already proven he has no love for the people born and bred here). This is completely unacceptable to those of us who have enjoyed Bantham in its current form for so many decades, but more importantly to the people who live in the village. The infrastructure around Bantham village struggles as it is, this development would make a bad situation worse, in particular for the existing village residents, especially during the summer months. This Old Etonian, multi-millionaire friend of David Cameron, who has more than enough to survive on already, should not be allowed to profit from developing an unspoilt gem in our coastal countryside, especially when his proposals offer absolutely nothing for local people. You can read about his plans here... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4216762/Millionaire-bought-village-plans-transform-it.html Please note that I have no legal training, I have started this petition in the hope of showing the authorities that there is a depth of feeling against such inappropriate plans for a much loved local beauty spot. Please share this petition with as many people as possible, especially with people from the Bantham area and wider South Hams. Thank you for your support.

  • Save our services
Please sign Petition and give your support too save all Sheltered Housing Complex's within the Glasgow area.I am currently living within a Sheltered Housing Complex and feel that i need too set up this petition to try save the support that i currently receive. Glasgow City Council(GCC) are cutting the support budget in April 2017 by 30%(£1,000,000)this leaves £2,000,000 to be shared city wide for all Sheltered Housing Support,as of December 2017 this £2,000,000 will be withdrawn leaving nothing in the pot for Sheltered Housing Support. We have an older population and people living longer and Sheltered Housing is a preventative service allowing older people to live in there homes longer and as independently as possible stopping us from reaching the HIGH NEEDS which GCC have stated that they wanted too fund. Sheltered Housing Support tenants to live in their own homes as independently as possible and support them maintain there tenancies. Reducing or removing the support i receive could resulting health deterioration, isolation and increase admission into hospitals, beds blocking because the older person may not or can not go home as there are no support for them until they are able to get back on their feet. Family members also rely on the support provided by Sheltered Housing staff to pick up deterioration in their family members health, they rely on Sheltered Housing staff to make sure there loved ones are safe and well, they rely on Sheltered Housing staff checking that their loved ones are on top off things like paying bills, collecting prescription's when unwell, light shopping, personal care when urgently needed, provide 24hour support and creating a safe environment for their loved ones too live in. All signature's will be collected an taken too GCC to show support in saving sheltered Housing Support. Thanks M Robb

  • Don't ban begging in Peterborough
The idea of fining those who already have so little, that they are forced to be out in the cold or ask for food and money is a cruel and heartless act. This is attacking vulnerable people and does not resolve the issues homeless people face. Other campaigns have successfully stopped other councils from imposing similar fines. You can read more on the plans here: Peterborough City Council: Public Spaces Protection Order Consultation: https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/council/consultations/public-spaces-protection-order-consultation-city-centre/ Peterborough City Council: Draft Public Space Protection Order: City Centre: https://www.peterborough.gov.uk/upload/www.peterborough.gov.uk/council/consultations/DRAFTPeterboroughCityCentre-PSPO.pdf

  • Don't Fine People for begging in Wandsworth
The idea of fining those who already have so little, that they are forced to sleep out in the cold or ask for food and money is a cruel and heartless act. This is attacking vulnerable people and does not resolve the issues homeless people face. Other campaigns have successfully stopped other councils from imposing similar fines. This campaign is based on this information from the council's website: http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/news/article/13685/comment_on_proposals_to_tackle_begging_and_street_drinking_in_tooting If you have anything that suggests that this council are no longer able to fine people for begging then we'd love to hear more from you, drop us an email at [email protected]

  • Don't fine the homeless of Exeter for begging.
Exeter Council are handing out fines to people who beg for food or money from strangers. It’s an attempt to sweep homelessness and begging out of the area, but it could mean people sleeping on the streets over winter face fines they can’t afford. These people need support, like shelters and access to food and advice, not fines for asking for money. Fining them will not solve the problem of homelessness, it will divide us even further. Edit: In an effort to be transparent please read the following: It has been brought to my attention that this new public spaces protection order(PSPO) is not set to be decided until the end of February, if we can stop it from happening in the first place that would be amazing. Also, the PSPO specifically targets 'aggressive' begging, which is described as begging near a cash point or approaching people directly. A link to this information is below: https://cllrpaul4cowick.wordpress.com/category/pspo/ I personally do not know how different officers will enforce this, or how subjective 'aggressive' is. I do not mind being approached for money, however you may feel differently. The link to the information I was originally presented with is here: http://m.exeterexpressandecho.co.uk/could-you-be-in-trouble-under-exeter-8217-s-public-spaces-protection-order/story-30027760-detail/story.html Thank you, Ella
