In 2012, the British Government introduced a minimum income threshold of £18,600 for sponsors of a spouse from outside the EU. This was increased to £22,400 for sponsoring a spouse and a child (and a further £2,400 for every additional child being sponsored). People on low income from all communities are affected by these rules. A direct result of this ruling causes families to be divided; sponsors are forced to work more than one job, or move to another EU country where the rules are not so divisive and fairer. British citizens and those who are settled in the UK are denied the right to family life that the British Government is arguably trying to promote. These rules have been condemned by many MP’s across party lines, many religious leaders and organisations like, Indian Workers Association, Joint Council for Welfare of Immigrants, Immigrants’ Rights Network and Southall Black Sisters. This discriminatory aspect of the Immigration Act has been challenged in the High Court in a test case. The court ruled against the Government which was unfortunately overturned on appeal by the Government. This is now pending a hearing at the Supreme Court. It is widely accepted that though this may be legal in terms of legislation, it is definitely immoral and unethical to set income limit expectations higher than the national minimum wage. The Supreme Court has granted permission to hear the appeal relating to the minimum income requirement for partner visas in immigration cases. The date of the hearing has not been confirmed but it is likely to be before autumn 2015.

Many involved with the incident in Tunisia will have suffered financial issues far greater than the level of payment offered by the Tourist agents/Travel agents. Many will need assistance with ongoing medical costs, counselling & therapy, other expenses. Holiday insurance does not cover acts of terrorism. In 2012 Theresa May announced that from April 2016 non-EU migrant workers will be required to earn £35,000 to stay in the UK, even if they have lived and worked here for more than 5 years. This devastating new immigration rule must be stopped, as immigrants who have lived and worked in the UK for longer than 5 years should have the right to stay regardless of their income. We cannot allow this policy to happen, as it will split up families, jeopardise the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people and severely damage the economy. The Royal college of Nursing recently announced that this policy will cost the NHS MILLIONS because so many of it's nurses are non-EU migrants who earn under £35,000 and who will be deported under this policy. Recruiting new nurses will be time consuming and expensive, and will drain more of the money needed to save the NHS. Also, the average income for a UK born citizen is £26,600, so it is entirely unfair to deport immigrants who may earn more than the average UK born citizen, but less than £35,000. parliamentarians have continued to violate the human rights of the people with forced austerity for the actions of the criminal bankers. the human rights of victims of parliamentary pedophile groups still at large in parliament and immune from justice. the removal of food to individuals abuses their human rights. all of the above offenses are classified as CIVIL offenses if committed by a politician and a criminal offense if committed by a member of the public. this inconsistency leaves the public with no legal aid open to any human rights violations parliament wishes. by making human rights violations criminal offenses the individual has a coarse open to justice where as now there is none. politicians can cause the death of thousands of people WITHOUT criminal offenses being taken brought against them, a terrorist kills one and we bomb a country. human rights violations should be criminal offenses to protect the people from political and economic fundamentalism of individual politicians who profess to be our representatives until called to account for their actions. james anderson.

On the 24th June 2015 a court in the Netherlands set an amazing precedent. The Dutch government is now legally bound to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2020, due to a legal case taken up by 900 citizens who would be adversely affected by rising sea levels due to climate change. Under the Conservative government we have gone backwards in regards to renewable energy. Homes and the environment are being put under threat due to broken promises, failure to take positive strides towards sustainability, fracking and the recent finding of oil in Sussex. We are already in a position where we cannot consume more than 20% of our current fossil fuels if we are to stay within two degrees of global warming so as not to reach the tipping point that has been agreed by climate scientists. Therefore we need to be moving towards renewable energy, sustainability rather than further increase our dependence on fossil fuels. Let's make our government take responsibility for their inaction and make it a legal requirement to put sustainability back on the agenda in the United Kingdom.

This is very important because the situation in Syria is disastrous and the number of people who are killed and dispersed is similar to the second world war. Britain generally, Wales and Swansea specifically has along and proud tradition of providing refuge at times of crisis. EU countries have agreed on a quota of 60,000 Syrian refugees to be accepted in each country. Germany has taken 30,000 so far. Where are we in this? Only 187 Syrian people has been accepted so far. People there are killed by three large armies. The government army supplied by Russian artillery, the Isis terrorists groups, and also the American warplanes which is targeting civilian's area anonymously in its search for the Isis and killing the innocent civilians who live there. Most refugees have witnessed horrific violence and many have seen their homes destroyed by bombs or have lost family members. Thousands of Syrians flee their country every day. They often decide to finally escape after seeing their neighbourhoods bombed or family members killed. For all the reasons mentioned above we have to take part in welcoming the most vulnerable refugees in the word, of which the Syrians make the largest part of.

More than three million UK pupils are being under-funded for their education because central government, incredibly, does not fund basic education costs and extra learning needs equally across the country. Local Authorities are allocated money for schools based on out-dated, historical criteria, which has created shocking underfunding of pupils in more than 50 areas, across the country. Schools in those areas have only managed through their thrift, resourcefulness and others' charity. Their deprived children have not received the extra funding that they need and would receive if they lived elsewhere in England and all of their pupils have been affected. This unacceptable situation has been going on for decades, obscured to the public by layers of funding complexity. But no longer: it is time for parents and communities to push for change urgently, because, with education cuts forecast, more than a ⅓ of the already underfunded schools can no longer make do and mend - they face bankruptcy. Millions of our children's futures are at stake.

Britain has a huge responsibility for the present chaos in Libya and Iraq yet expects the rest of Europe to shoulder the repercussions. Everyone in England is an immigrant as are all Europeans: we all came here from Africa!. There is something particularly distasteful in the language of racial prejudice and the casual cruelty of refusing to welcome refugees suffering at least in part as a result of recent English foreign policy disasters.

The Scottish Parliament was brought into being to bring the standards of democracy in Britain up to those in other parts of the European Union. For Westminster to give itself the right to disolve that parliament at any time without the agreement of the Scottish people is not only against the will of the Scottish people but the will of the Council of Europe. In taking away the Scottish Governments power to veto the repeal 'The Human Rights' Act, Westminster also taking away the rights of the Scottish people who did not vote for the Conservatives or Labourbut voted for 56 SNP mps to represent them.

LG, like any other corporation should be aware of the conditions their products are made. They should take responsibility and treat them like humans. They are, like many other, using human lives like cannon fodder for their shareholders. It is time we make them know that we care about how our products are made.
