  • Instigate a Royal Commission into the future direction of the NHS
Ever since it's foundation in 1948, the National Health Service has been a mainstay of our country. However, in an ever changing world, the pressures now facing the NHS are very great. We have had a top down review in recent years. People are growing older and living longer. There have also been significant advances in medicine since 1948. However, the NHS has also seen major political parties arguing about who can manage it best. It is now time for all of that to stop. It is time for a Royal Commission to look into the future of our NHS. All major political parties, trade unions, NHS staff, service providers and expert witnesses and patients should be called to look at ways of improving and enhancing our NHS for the future. It should be led by an expert in the field of medicine. It is time for the politics to stop and all those with an interest to come together to work hard for the future of our NHS. A long term solution agreed by all stakeholders in our NHS is needed to make it work for everyone.

  • Tell MP's & The Lords to forgo Summer Recess
Theresa May, all MP's & Lords represent the citizens of the United Kingdom, how can they do so when they are not in parliament debating the concerns and rights of the British people? As we sit teetering on civil unrest, and in light of the recent horrific atrocities and including the forthcoming brexit negotiations it is paramount that Theresa May, all MP's & Lords should be accountable for their movements and remain seated throughout the period from 21 July 2017 - 5th September 2017 for the sake of the British people. If 100's sign this petition today demanding that Theresa May, all MP's & Lords remain seated then we can ensure laws and policies are dealt with in a timely manner and the citizens of the United Kingdom get value for money from the public purse!

  • Call for Nigel Farage to get Brits 'Picking for Britain!'
It is now widely reported that produce growers in the UK fear that their produce will rot in the field due to lack of seasonal immigrant workforce. Since Nigel's main campaign to get out of the EU was to limit immigration, and the impact that immigration has had on British jobs, it seems only fitting that he should also implore the British to take up the empty jobs that his actions have indirectly freed up. Part of making decisions is to take responsibility for consequences. Brexit rhetoric, uncertainty and economic impact have all led to less seasonal migrant workers this year; it may have not been Nigel's direct aim to free up seasonal work for Brits, but he can bring to bear a campaign of National pride to encourage Brits to actively seek out such jobs to ensure that produce does not rot in the field. Even if Nigel's view is that seasonal fruit picking is ideal for low priced migrant labour, it will take a long time for that workforce to want to return in sufficient quantity to the UK , and that seems largely a consequence of Brexit, and specifically his part in the campaign for it. So the only responsible thing for him to do is to mitigate this, perhaps unintended, consequence by calling people to the fields. Furthermore, it would be a really positive gesture if Nigel could spend his spare time leading by example and working in the fields. Then he could truly say that he had earned his pint by the end of the day.

The LFB faced an unimaginable tragedy on arrival on that night, as residents were running out to safety, the brave firefighters were running in and saved countless residents. It is only right and proper that these firefighters should be recognised for going above and beyond the call of duty

  • Cut our unnecessary plastic waste
The ever-rising tide of our plastic waste has recently been found washing up on the shores of Henderson Island, an uninhabited island in the South Pacific, where 38 million pieces of plastic are now lying. Plastic is littering our countryside, hardly degrading, and it is floating around in the oceans where fish are mistaking tiny pieces of plastic for food. A recent analysis is now showing that we are all probably ingesting microplastics in our tap water and in the world's salt where they remain as residues. And our appetite for disposable coffee cups and bottles shows no sign of waning. All of these are warnings that we must all cut our plastic waste, and the huge industries that create it must help consumers to recycle, and ultimately find alternative, biodegradable materials, or better still cut unnecessary packaging altogether. Reusing plastic bottles is not enough. Consider how much plastic we get through everyday that is marked as 'not currently recycled': food packets, vegetable wrapping, 'post-consumer film' on fruit punnets and ready meals, snack bags, the reams of plastic when you buy a new gadget, not forgetting pens and carrier bags, greetings card sleeves. I ask, why is this not currently recycled? It is very difficult to live in the modern world without such a convenient material, but it is possible to find alternatives if the will and demand is there. We already have cellulose and waste potato starch from crisp manufacturing that can replace film and polystyrene. Pens and pots can be made from tyres and plastic cups. Not only can we stem the tide of plastic in our oceans, we can save energy and money by reducing the processing of our plastic waste. We also need to protect animals and ourselves from exposure to microplastics.

    - Instagram has a minimum age of 13 right now, but that's not high enough and it doesn't do enough to protect children. Alongside sharing pictures, instagram can be used to message with strangers, which opens up the risk of people using it to groom children. Please sign this petition if you think the minimum age should be brought up to 16.

  • Free travel on tfl for emergency services staff
With ever increasing costs of accommodation in London many workers have to move out to the suburbs and beyond. However those who run toward danger whilst telling others to run away, as part of what they themselves call their 'normal job' deserve special consideration. This is already given to police officers. I believe this should be extended to LFB & LAS also.
