Trafford Council are proposing to demolish both Stamford Park Schools & construct a new three form entry school on the existing school field. Trafford Council has published a “Vision “document promising a “state of the art “new school and referenced other new schools in the borough; Worthington Park, Bowdon Church Schools as examples of what the new school will look like. The existing school field is much smaller size than the footprint of the existing Infant and Junior school site and as the new school will be designed for three form entry it will have to be three storeys high with limited external space for playgrounds. This proposed building is likely to be completely out of character with the buildings in the surrounding streets and unlikely to be the state-of-the-art new school promised. At no time have Trafford published any plans for the new school. Surely if you are undertaking a consultation exercise it is not unreasonable to expect to see outline plans so the public can form their own opinion of the proposals. The new school will also result in the children losing their playing field. The existing Edwardian school buildings will be demolished to create some outdoor (artificial) pitches and 40 car parking spaces. The use of public transport should be encouraged not increasing the number of cars around a school. These local schools have stood in our community for over 100 years and the demolition of these buildings will be a sad loss to the local area and in an era where sustainability should be paramount, refurbishment of the existing buildings must be the way forward. Whilst we understand there are issues with the existing Infants School this proposal is not the solution. Trafford Council are currently undertaking a consultation exercise gathering opinions from the local community /residents/parents etc. If you have not already done so please complete the online consultation form on the Trafford website though you only have until 17th Nov to submit your form. Given that the new school is being promoted by Trafford it is vital to gather as much support as possible so that the council understand the strength of local opinion. If we lose the trees on this land we lose the living entities that filter pollutants keeping our air cleaner and soak up the tons of CO2 that contributes to Climate Change. WBC has agreed there is a Climate Change emergency and this must be taken into consideration. Animals like foxes, bats and owls will be disturbed and made homeless as a result. If we win, the trees carry on filtering our air, the community keeps the value of its majestic tree stock and its green buffer zone and the animals have shelter and food. There is only a short window to get signatures, but every little helps. We care about our mature trees. The current rate for carers who provide AT LEAST 35 hours of care a week for their loved ones is £66.15 per week. If the carer works for any significant number of hours, this is reduced. But for many carers, the care they provide is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with little or no option to go to work, as who would then care for their loved one? The government provides less than quarter of the minimum wage a week, leaving many carers and their families in a very difficult position financially, when they are already often under extreme stress due to the challenges of providing full time care. But if the state were to look after the person in need of care, in a Care home or similar institution, it would cost several thousand pounds a month and possibly more. Most people would prefer to live at home with their loved ones, not in a care home, so let's make that a properly financed option. I started this petition as I'm a full time carer for a loved one who has Alzheimer's disease. In an ideal world everyone would be paid the real living wage, but currently the fact that carers don't even get the government minimum wage is appalling. Let's get this into the manifesto of all parties for the upcoming election!

Scottish voters will be listening to the debate and will be restricted to the policies of two or three political parties who do not speak for a large proportion of the Scottish Electorate. Further-more, by not allowing the SNP a platform, you are reducing their ability to convert non-SNP voters to consider voting for the party and their policies. We are not asking for any preferential treatment, only that you treat all parties the same. As Scots, we pay the same SKY fees as the rest of the country and it is important that our voices are heard. We were told this was a Union of Equals and we ask SKY TV to ensure that during this election we are made to feel that statement is true.

Hundreds of arrests, fines, records & outstanding court cases MUST BE OVERTURNED; our bodies were harmed by police during peaceful protest; arrests, fines, jail time & criminal records followed. We want an apology for anguish, suffering & time stolen from people who simply wanted to protect their families. Government has now admitted we were right - they cannot safely frack for shale gas without risking uncontrollable &unpredictable seismic activity. We are not and never have been criminals.

The review will allow all the political parties and the public to clearly assess the viability of the HS2 project .The Review has been funded by the taxpayer and we were assured the findings would be made public. Much more importantly is that the Government have allowed HS2 to continue with this destruction of ancient woodlands ,forests and disrupt communities along the route whilst the review is being conducted .This review needs to be completed and a Published before the December election so as to enable all political parties and the public to make informed decisions regarding the HS2 project .

3.8 million women have been caught up in government efforts to cut the costs of paying for the state pension and to equalise the age at which men and women receive the state pension. We are your moms, grans, wives, sisters, aunts and friends and never ever thought we would be protesting in our 60s following what many term the ‘Great State Pension Robbery’. I start this petition in support of all the campaigning pensions group who all want justice.

Famous views of the town's largest historic feature, enshrined in Lowry paintings, are being eroded by willful siting of tall tower blocks along its eastern side, concealing the structure from most of the town centre. The Council's own self-permitted 19-storey Interchange tower will block views of the viaduct on the south side of the valley, while a previous grouping at Regent House (14 storeys) blocks views to the north. Capital and Centric's 14-storey tower takes out both central and oblique views.

Living near a quarry brings increased risk to the health of people in the nearby communities. At the moment there are no standards laid down by government, relating to how far away quarries have to be from settlements, so each regional authority views the situation differently and each community has to argue their own case for a “buffer zone”. Some authorities try to get away with no buffer, whereas others are more considerate. We believe that there needs to be a standard buffer zone nationwide, of at least 1,000 metres, in order to protect the health of people who live near quarries, especially older people and children. A national standard is required so that all communities are treated fairly. Dust generated by quarrying can contain silica. Silica is naturally found in certain types of stone, rock, sand and clay. Working with these materials can create a very fine dust that can be easily inhaled. Once inside the lungs, the dust particles are attacked by the immune system. This causes silicosis, a disease that can take years to develop. It causes swelling and scarring in the lungs. The NHS website states that people with silicosis may become bed-bound and, in rare instances, may die. Silicosis can also lead to other serious lung diseases such as COPD and lung cancer. Companies who operate quarries where silica is likely to be present are required by law to provide their employees with protective equipment. There is no such protection for people who live near quarries. Older people, those with existing respiratory conditions such as asthma, and young children are particularly vulnerable to airborne silica entering their lungs. The risk of harm to health is higher where the prevailing winds carry dust from quarries towards residential settlements and schools. We are therefore calling upon the Government to establish a common national standard that would keep quarrying activities at least 1000 metres away from areas where people live, work and study. This standard would then have to be adopted by local authorities when preparing their minerals policies and plans (which include quarrying activities), and making planning decisions. This standard would reduce the risk of serious long term health problems caused by silicosis and other lung diseases. Please sign our petition today. Thank you.

We live in an multi-party democracy and in a general election voters will have a choice between at least three major national parties and several credible smaller parties. Newspapers are reporting that the Conservatives are pressing for a debate just between the Conservatives and Labour falsely narrowing the options open to voters, denying the public a balanced programme and unfairly advantaging two parties at the expense of the others.

Universities have an obligation to play a greater role in the Climate Strike movement, showing solidarity with students who will be most affected by the climate crisis.
