Save the Corrib Pubs Community RoomsThese rooms are a well-regarded facility in the area with a great future when used by the community. Many people have attended events at the Corrib Rest and recent attempts by local residents have tried to arrange activities. Pensioners now evicted from their weekly get togethers here have now had to use an unheated hall. Community facilities like this are far more important than 9 luxury flats. The petition was delivered to the planners and now we have the Committee hearing. On Weds 28th June at 7pm we want to try and get as many people as possible to attend the hearing to support the community rooms being kept. please attend if you can at Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, HA9 0FJ. support is important so please help and attend if you feel strongly about loss of community spaces1,509 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Barrett

Save Blueberry Hill Footwear in DewsburyBlueberry Hill is a small family business, the last independent shoe retailer based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. We have been established for more than 55 years and for 30 years we have been selling Dr Martens. Begining of January 2017 Airwair International closed our trade account, the reason been "we are repositioning our brand" and we weren't spending enough with them. Our livelyhood is based around the sale of Dr Martens, without them we may have to close down after 50 years of service. We don't want this to happen. So we want to change their minds with you help.397 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Anjum Rafique

Create a Queer Museum and LGBTQI+ Centre in London1) 2017 is the 50th Anniversary of the passing of the Sexual Offences Act 1967 which partly decriminalised sexual acts between two men in private and aged over 21. 2) As a cultural centre, the queer museum would be a vital space in which to counteract the effects of homophobia, transphobia, racism and religious intolerance, especially important with the rise of right leaning political parties throughout Europe and America and attacks upon the LGBTQI+ community. 3) Some of the demands of the Gay Liberation Front from the 1970s have yet to be met, including the demand that ‘sex education in schools stop being exclusively heterosexual.’ Schools must provide sex and gender education that addresses the needs of LGBTQI+ students, queer histories must find a permanent home, and the LGBTQI+ community must have a place to organize: anything less is a betrayal to the courage of the pioneering queer activists of the 1960s and beyond.563 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Queer Cabinet Brigade

Rename Colston Hall by DecemberEdward Colston was Deputy Governor of Royal African Company (RAC) - the dominant slaving organisation in the British Empire. Between 1672 and 1698, the RAC transported around 100,000 enslaved Africans to plantations in the West Indies and America. This included women and children as young as six – each enslaved person was branded with the company’s initials on their chest. More than 20,000 enslaved Africans were killed during the crossings. Their bodies were thrown overboard. Colston, RAC and Merchant Venturers became millionaires from this so-called 'business'. However, Bristol is full of resistance. Since 1920, Bristolians have rallied, boycotted and demanded that Bristol's institutions stop honouring Colston through statues, buildings and ceremonies. The Hall is 150 years old this year - now is the time. Use the 150th year celebrations to finally rename the Hall. Massive Attack boycott the Hall, as do other musicians and artists but the Hall's management continues to turn a blind eye to calls for progress. People of colour have been ignored and excluded even though they make up 16% of Bristol's population. We demand that our institutions reflect our communities and become accessible to all Bristolians. Enough is enough. We are proud of our city - Bristol is a modern, inclusive, multicultural place. We want to be proud of our main music venue. Aycliffe community skatepark in Dover, KentThere are no facilities for the young children and teenagers of our estate. There is a small park and that's it. Sadly we live next to the A20 Dover and when operation stack is in place we get cut off from everyone, so the children have no where to go or play as we have only one entrance and same exit for estate.406 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Lynda Garrett

Save the Somerset Pub in MarstonThere has been a pub on the site of the Somerset since the 1800s. It closed its doors in 2014, and is now the last pub standing in New Marston. A group of local residents are now campaigning to save the pub. The iconic building is one of its kind in the area: a 1930s inter-war public house. Historic England have campaigned to list and protect suburban pubs, which are under threat and closing at a rate of 27 per week. Marston has already lost The Plasterers Arms, The Jack Russell, The Friar, The Cavalier, The Three Horseshoes, The Bricklayers Arms, and The White Hart, which have all been converted to other uses by property developers. We urgently need community spaces as well as housing, and pubs are an important and irreplaceable part of our heritage. If the Somerset is lost there will be no pubs in New Marston - an area of some 4000 residents. Marston is in real need of public spaces for eating, drinking and meeting. Many of us know and love the Somerset, and remember it as a thriving pub. We have come together to lobby local government to recognise the importance of preserving our last pub and to campaign to see it re-opened for community use.746 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Susannah Wilson

Put the seats back at Tarbert bus stopDistances in Harris, unlike Barra, are huge. It is very important, therefore, that people can wait for a bus in some comfort. At this very moment the Western Isles are being buffeted by high winds. Having to travel any distance is uncomfortable, but Stornoway is a long way away from Tarbert. From the West Highland Free Press "Council slammed for removing seats from Tarbert shelter. Elderly residents in Harris have complained over a situation in which they are having to wait for long period for a bus connection to Stornoway - and without proper waiting facilities."249 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Peter Colledge

Stop Ordnance Survey & Migration Lawyers ads on #Muslimban Cheerleaders BreitbartBreitbart News Network has been a cheerleader for Trumps presidential campaign and continues to promote his far right agenda - applauding the #Muslimban, slurring opponents of the ban and supporting French National Front leader Le Pen's plan to bring the ban to Europe. After we started this petition Newman University pulled their ads from #MuslimBan cheerleader Breitbart Media. Stating 'our values of social justice and the common good are extremely important to us'. Ordnance Survey and UK Migration Lawyers should not be paying for adverts in racist far right publications. We call on them to pull their ads from Breitbart immediately.94 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Undoing Borders

Roadworks Affecting Local Businesses in Wylds RoadBusinesses are suffering with lack of customers due to the current one way system. The works were originally planned to be 29 weeks, but have now been extended to 41 weeks. Businesses are concerned about the fall in trade and the financial impact this will have on their takings. This in turn could mean closure for some of the smaller companies and possible unemployment for their staff.126 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ollie Pole

Take Her Name - International Women's DayWith almost 90% of the rock n roll hall of fame being made up of male musicians we need to move on from pigeon holing female musicians by image and understand that good musicianship and songwriting is all that counts. 08 March 2017 is International Women’s Day, where this year women are being asked to ‘be bold for change’. But let's go one extra, and encourage men to 'change to be bold'. PRS for Music report that their membership of over 95,000 songwriters and composers is only 13 per cent female. And reportedly, there have been cases of female writers pitching songs under a male pseudonym to give themselves a better chance - the sort of thing 19th Century female authors had to do. Laura Mvula recently declared that we are living in the "Donald Trump time of music" while Lady Gaga has spoken about how she ‘really wanted to be taken seriously as a musician for my intelligence more than my body’ during the early part of her career, while accepting Billboard's Woman of the Year award in 2014. Lady Gaga also called the industry a "boy's club" and said women faced pressure to "sell everything to be a star. There has long been discussions from music industry experts and celebrities’ alike calling for women to be recognised in all aspects of the industry. Female performers should be recognised for their musicianship rather than the fulfilment of a stereotype of ‘girls girl, wronged woman or unattainable sex-bot which is claimed to be empowering’ as Charlotte Church put it in her lecture on sexism in the music industry. And on Thursday 23 February 2017, in support of this campaign we will be staging an event to challenge attitudes towards female musicians at London’s 93 Feet East (Brick Lane). The all female line up will comprise of five London based musicians, and celebrated DJ, Jenn Crothers, to play songs late into the night. The event is Free & Doors open from 7pm. And we will be using #takehername throughout the campaign!134 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rami Radi
