• Ban the Ivory Trade
With the General Election coming up, Theresa May and the Conservative Party have stated in their latest (2017) manifesto that they will give a "general pledge" to "work with international organisations to protect endangered species and the marine environment." We need more than this to protect the vulnerable creatures, this country's leaders need to live up to our reputation of being a nation of animal lovers and put a total ban on the ivory trade and not bow down to pressure from their colleagues in the party like Lady Victoria Borwich who is the President of The British Antiques Dealers’ Association, and the Conservative MP for Kensington.

  • Neha Chaudhry's Renewal of Visa application
Miss Chaudry's walking aid could transform thousands of lives. But a technical error has left her in the situation of leaving the UK within 14 days or file an apoeal whuch does not automatically allow her ro file the correct version of this document.- an appointment's report detailing her status as a director of the company she founded. Unless the Home Office realises this was an unintentional mistake, we will lose the wonderful and frankly life-changing piece of equipment that will turn thousands, if not millions of Parkinson's sufferers. Many more younger sufferers are being diagnosed (http://www.parkinson.org/understanding-parkinsons/what-is-parkinsons/young-onset-parkinsons) each year. Andy Sinclair, director of Sysemia has said of Miss Chaudry " she has invented something that is socially, economically and morally a great thing to do ( source I Weekend) Please loby the Home Office to overturn this decision!!!

  • UK Asylum for Chechnya's gay men
Around 100 gay men in Chechnya, Russia, have been rounded up and tortured, seemingly on account of being gay. This is a violation of Article 14 of the European Convention of Human Rights - the right to freedom from discrimination on account of something uncontrollable. It is my firm belief that the UK should follow the example of Lithuania, whose foreign minister has granted asylum to two queer men from Chechnya, who fear for their lives. The U.S., under the Trump administration, has outright rejected the idea. We do not have to follow their lead. Please sign to show your support for the gay and bisexual in danger in Chechnya.

  • Subsidise the cost of Adobe packages for students
We want involvement from you- the students across UAL, as we know we could all do with fewer bills to pay. Students living in London already face considerable costs and increasing financial burdens...other institutions in London offer this to their students, and as an Arts university, Adobe is vital.. Whilst providing access within the university, this is always crowded and over subscribed, particularly with approaching deadlines. This adds excessive pressure on students and we feel the university should acknowledge this and lessen it. Find us here, https://m.facebook.com/Free-Adobe-For-UAL-Students-243334649478249/

  • Push for schools to include mental health lessons on the curriculum
This is important since around 10% of children ages 8-14 have a diagnosed mental health disorder but a massive 70% of children struggle with mental health. This issue is also extremely important for boys and young men because the biggest killer of young boys and men is suicide. Finally as a OCD sufferer myself i know what it is like to have a debilitating disorder.

  • Stop Animal cruelty
It's important to acknowledge that animals should be treated equally and should not be put through some of the horrendous things mankind do. Animals can suffer, feel pain, feel love and feel scared they are just like you an I, except we choose to treat them as though they are below us and have no rights. This is totally and utterly wrong we should be the compassionate beings that we are supposed to be, we should treat these animals with love and respect. Your desires and what you want should never be put first if it means putting something in harm and causing suffering; this is what I call selfish. You don't get to say it's worth it because all you had to do was buy it, that animal would have spent most of its life confined without freedom; freedom to be with their family, freedom to run, freedom to be an animal and then only to have its short life end. What's a life if don't get to live it ?
