I've just watched PETA's shocking video about fur farms in "Origin Assured" countries (http://petauk.org/originassured) and I can't understand why Harvey Nichols continues to support animal cruelty. Video footage shows how on fur farms in Finland, Sweden, the US and other Origin Approved countries, animals such as raccoons, rabbits and minks are kept in filthy wire cages, sometimes alongside the rotting corpses of other animals, and are often left to suffer from open, untreated wounds and even missing limbs. The Crystal Palace Stadium is part of our athletics heritage and is an important training facility for aspiring athletes as it has an outdoor & indoor track. This stadium has hosted major sporting events for decades, and could continue to do so for many years to come if development of the site retains the Stadium & indoor training facilities

The governors and head have been meeting in secret with REAch2 over the past months and have decided to take this community school out of council control and into the private sector without so much as asking the parents for their views. This is not lawful and not in the best interests of the children. Let's tell them that we demand to be heard. Let them make their case to us. Let's not let them dictate that our children's education should be privatised. We would like answers to the following questions: 1) Why was the decision to seek academy status made in secret and without consultation? 2) When was this decision made, by whom, and with what outside influence? 3) What advice has the school received from Local Authority with regards to consultation? 4) At what point in the process where REAch2 selected as the trust? 5) What other trusts have made representations to our school? 6) Why was the decision to select REAch2 made in secret and without consultation? 7) What influence have they had on school policy and communications over the last several months? 8) What communications have the school received from the DfE and the LA on this subject?

Local residents, particularly the hundreds whose homes overlook Admiralty Square, rarely get to enjoy this green space. There is nothing attractive about it. It is made even less appealing by the frequent dogs taken there to foul (who sometimes fight). It is not considered by local residents as clean nor safe nor likeable. A traditional and historic London square such as this, is somewhere that should be embraced, nurtured and shared by the community - not forgotten, neglected and avoided.

The Archers is very dear to me and I don't want the story lines being like the awful, sensational TV soaps. It is no longer the everyday story of countryfolk leading everyday lives.

This the same as proposing to spy directly on our thoughts. Why is this? Thinking people will see that it is only the TECHNOLOGY that changes between spying on our internet intimacy and the spying on the intimacy of our thoughts. Scientists have ALREADY been able to 'read our thoughts' using an electronic implant. If these (irresponsible) power seekers proposed today to spy on our thoughts, there would be such a hue and cry that it would shake the very foundations of our society. We need to make sure that this erosion of our human rights, this constant leveraging of available technology by the ‘in power’ spies is outlawed once and for all. Perhaps this would be a good reason to have (within the UK) a written constitution? The argument that it is all done for the common good is not good enough – not unless you wish your thoughts to be opened up to scrutiny in future by the then ‘democratic or undemocratic’ power brokers. SAY NO NOW.

The way that the shared spaces on The Crossings in Stafford are currently being left, with overflowing bins full of dog mess, and poorly maintained green space is unacceptable and a health risk to the people who use it - the people of the area deserve better.

These policies put English speaking families (which are the VAST majority of families in North Wales) at a HUGE disadvantage as it excludes their parents from helping and being involved with them in their learning. Having only just got the basics of a complex language at home children are then faced with learning another VASTLY different language to learn which is then the sole medium in which they are then taught EVERYTHING at school! This leaves them continually playing "catch-up" in EVERY subject. It also hampers them from grasping the complexities of THE lingua franca of the modern world which then leaves them uncompetitive in our global economy.

Canterbury is a World Heritage Site. This wall is one of the first sights of the City for coach loads of visitors from the continent. A pretty red brick wall deserves better than to be smeared with ugly thin white paint that does nothing to conceal graffiti.
