Stop the Grapes Public House, Sutton from being soldThe Grapes is a friendly, local pub used by the local people of Sutton and the casual visitor. Folk can relax and enjoy a beverage, a beer and/or meal in a warm and welcoming setting. The mood of the Grapes is quite dissimilar to any other Wetherspoons pub in the surrounding area and particularly different to that of The Moon on the Hill, at the top of Sutton High Street, where they cater more for office workers by day and the younger reveller at night, especially on a Friday/Saturday evening either as a staging post before an evening of nightclubbing or to remain in that location for the evening. To the majority of those of us who regularly frequent the Grapes, it is considered a jewel in the Wetherspoons stable of pubs as a local pub and the notion of the Grapes being up for sale means a great deal to a great many of us. The quality of food, general care and the condition, quality and choice of Real Ales not to mention the superb service from the staff given to regular patrons, casual drinkers and diners as well holiday makers and visitors to the township of Sutton makes for a very pleasant, quieter home from home and nice place to be. For the residents of Sutton, the Grapes provides a key local hub and pleasant meeting place. We feel that the integrity of the Grapes and all that it means to exiting patrons would be best maintained now and in the future if it were to remain owned, run and managed by JD Wetherspoon plc. Thank you for your time.291 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Mark, Bob & Fiona

Please re-open The Traveller's Rest Pub, NewtownThere has been a pub on this site since the early 1800 and is the last remaining pub in the village of Newtown. We have no shops, doctor or even a bus service. It was a viable business and a popular meeting place. It has been used by many, including yourselves, and its closure has been upsetting to us. You are in the entertainment industry and understand the value of social interaction, please re-open the pub so we can once again come together and enjoy the company of friends and visitors in its warm, convivial atmosphere.195 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Anita Smith

Give London's Pie & Mash shops Heritage StatusThe number of Pie & Mash shops in London has fallen from 57 to 27 in the past 20 years, making way for an endless array of throwaway coffee chains and flavour of the day, pop-up posh grub, whatever's the rage! This often family-run tradition dates back to the 1840's, offering Londoners an affordable, hearty meal in a warm and familiar, community driven environment, something London desperately needs now more than ever. If you too are sick of the greedy stream of gentrification washing away every trace of character and culture from our streets then please sign and share. Cheers!196 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Calum Connaughton

Rent arrears is not 'intentional homelessness'Many people on part-time or zero-hours contracts have ongoing problems getting paid their full entitlement of housing benefit and end up in rent arrears. This is what happened to Clavia Chambers who was evicted by Lambeth Council last month with her two young children and is still fighting to have this decision overturned (http://housingactivists.co.uk/protest/clavias-case-shows-how-anyone-can-become-homeless ) All unemployed, disabled and low paid workers are currently being moved onto Universal Credit. The chronic delays, cuts, and mismanagement of claims in this new system is going to make this situation even worse. There has been an explosive rise in rent arrears among universal credit claimants. There is a real danger of spiralling numbers of evictions and more social cleansing in Lambeth because the council currently classifies people evicted for rent arrears as 'intentionally homeless' and refuses to rehouse them. Lambeth council should not be evicting people who fall foul of the brutal and complicated benefits system. They should be supporting tenants to appeal unjust benefit decisions and they should use their powers to make discretionary housing benefit payments to prevent people in private rented homes becoming homeless too.1,309 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Lambeth HousingActivists

Save Reading Central Club!Reading Borough Council are threatening to knock down the Central Mural and sell the building to commercial developers. The Mural is an important both as a piece of Art and as a memorial to the lives of people significant in African, Afro-American, Caribbean and black British History. It reminds us (accurately) that some pharaohs were black. (If it is ever extended in size it could now usefully add a major Russian Novelist and an American President!). It would be a huge loss to us if we lose it and an insult to the many Reading Residents from Barbados, Jamaica, East and West Africa and elsewhere. Personally I am scots of Irish and English descent and I love that mural620 of 800 SignaturesCreated by John Roy

Save our local supermarket in Covent GardenThere are 7,000 people living in Covent Garden, many in social housing who are elderly or disabled who depend on their local supermarket for food. There are many more who work or study in the area and shop at Marks and Spencer regularly. This is a very busy food department. The nearby Tesco is also under threat. It is reported that the reason for closure is that the rent for the premises is too high to make a profit. Someone has got to compromise. We do not need yet another designer store. The community is being destroyed and Covent Garden is being turned into a playground for wealthy tourists. This petition is backed by the Covent Garden Community Association. www.coventgarden.org.uk315 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Covent Garden Community Association London

Bring back baby weigh and health worker to Cranbrook Cornerstone Baby and Toddler groupCranbrook is a vastly growing town with a huge population of children under 5. In fact we are in the top 5% of the country and to take away a service that has been offered for nearly 5 years at this thriving group is a huge blow. Our group is inclusive and caters to children of all ages up to preschool and so is much more suibale for parents who have children of various preschool age. This group supports families old and new and helps people forge friendships in what can sometime be an isolating time in new parents lives, especially if they are new to the area. Baby weigh and health services were a big lifeline to new parents as they could meet other new mums and dads and often their children will grow up with the group and stay with us until they start preschool. Now we have lost this vital service, we have lost a lot of babies coming to group which in turn may mean we will not have the toddler's coming along when the babies grow up. We are aware there is a Tuesday session available but by all accounts this day is not suitable for all and by taking away the Thursday session it will put more pressure on the Tuesday group with waiting times and maybe not being able to seek the advice needed from the health worker in attendance as so many people will want the same.104 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kelly Curran

We need a bridge with pedestrian lifts at Abergavenny StationThis station is on the mainline route from Swansea/Cardiff to Manchester and Holyhead, and serves a huge area of Monmouthshire and South Powys, the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains as well as the town of Abergavenny. There are 2 ways to reach the far platform at Abergavenny. One is by a steep footbridge which has 45 steps and is difficult to negotiate, especially in bad weather. The other is to cross the line, accompanied by a member of staff. If you wish to do the latter, then you are expected to phone to notify your request to travel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you wish to travel out of office hours, there will be no members of staff at the station and you are dependent on the guard or the driver of the arriving train to accompany you across the line. So much for spontaneity of travel for many people! We want a bridge with passenger lifts to give full access for disabled passengers, older people and those with heavy luggage. 30% of the population in Monmouthshire is over 60. We were granted the money and planning permission for the bridge about 5 years ago. It never happened because Network Rail could not work out what to do about the position of the signal because the driver’s view of it would be blocked by the new bridge. We demand that Network Rail solve this problem, find the resources and, either replace or resite the signal in order that work on a bridge and lifts can commence. This is not just important to local people; Abergavenny station is used by visitors to major events such as The Food Festival and the Green Man Festival, the Hay Festival, and the 2016 National Eisteddfod. All these events bring visitors and revenue into the area. If you believe, like the organisers of this petition, that this situation is not good enough and that there should be equal access for all at the station, please sign this petition.1,117 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Abergavenny Rail Access Campaign

Save Annet House and Gardens!Annet House is a stunning Georgian town dwelling and garden on Linlithgow High Street. Known as the rigg, the gardens would have been used to provide the everyday necessities for the family living in Annet House. The rigg today is maintained in a way that incorporates the species and varieties of plants that would have been growing in Victorian times. Spread over four levels the rigg also has a maze and Linlithgow's only known ice house. In a matter of weeks West Lothian Council will relocate the artefacts to the new Partnership Building and put the house and its stunning gardens up for sale. This part of Linlithgow's heritage will be gone and lost to the people of the town forever. Let's save this valuable resource for generations to come!507 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Clare Rainey
