A healthy happy life and great place to live is important to us all and deep down we all want our children, families and aged citizens to live in these great places. Atherton skatepark was recently demolished randomly and out of the blue with no notice or warning what so ever. It was important to each and every single person who uses or did use the skatepark or even anybody who wants to take up extreme sports. The skatepark was much loved by locals and people that are not so local, it kept so many young people out of trouble and off the streets doing something they love! It is very important for parents and carers as they are being charged more by companies at a particular time of year (school Holidays) when the prices are cheaper at other times through the year.

Often especially in local elections people vote for the party not the individual. However too often councillors switch parties or lose the whip. This can change the balance of power on a council and often is against the wishes of the people who voted for them. We need to ensure the integrity of local councils and force a by-election for all switches of alliance.

By removing Abbey Wood's Crown Post Office you are causing the loss of good jobs and services which will hurt the local economy, as well as the rapidly growing numbers of people living in the area especially vulnerable groups - such as pensioners and the disabled. Many services - banking, passport and identity services- can only be provided at Crown (not franchised) Post Offices, and since the nearest, by public transportation, is at Dartford the loss of Abbey Wood Post office would place an unacceptable barrier to many people accessing these services.

The community needs a family friendly and drug free social hub, to enable them to socialise and unwind.

Temple Newsam Park is a free public park to be enjoyed by everyone. Should these plans go ahead, some areas of the park may be restricted, especially entry/exits to the equipment, the noise from participants will spoil the peaceful calm currently enjoyed. Parking is also an issue, especially at weekends - there just arent enough spaces to accommodate this - any new parking areas would mean taking more of the green available space of the park. Road access to the park will be put under further pressure. There is the issue of felling existing trees to make way for this, disturbance to the natural wild life and bird life living in the park. Temple Newsam is beautiful as it is, it does not need enhancing, please sign the petition in support.
