Wild animals, like lions and tigers, are not meant to live their lives travelling from place to place in small cages, only to be then forced to train for the next circus performance. They deserve to live in much better conditions. Eighteen countries have already banned the use of wild animals in circuses. It's possible for circus organisers to put on an exciting performance without involving wild animals. Polls have shown that Scottish people overwhelmingly support this ban, so it's time for the Scottish Government to put the ban in place. The Scottish Government is currently in consultation to pass this into law. We hope to collect as many signatures as possible. Dementia is the single biggest killer for people over 60, taxing people with this horrible disease is absurd. This condition is futile and people should not be punished for a condition they are unable to control.

Sara worked tirelessly to expose child sexual exploitation in Greater Manchester. Despite being ignored by children's services and police she carried on collecting evidence trying to get people in power to listen. Her work lead to the conviction of a vicious paedophile network and continues to be important evidence in ongoing investigations. This work took a huge toll on Sara so we believe it is right and proper that she is recognised by the state.

Questions from member of the public are absolutely vital, they show transparency within the chamber and allow the public to ask pertinent questions at a time they can attend meetings. The change in time of council meetings will exclude working councillors from Full Council meetings.

The public deserve the opportunity to hear the leaders of our two major parties debate the issues that affect all of our lives leading up to the 2017 General Election. Both leaders cannot possibly speak to every person in the U.K. in the time remaining before the vote, so by participating in a live tv debate, they can afford the people of the United Kingdom the opportunity to make an informed decision. A good leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly. At this General Election, the people of the United Kingdom must choose a representative with the vision and the personal resources to navigate us all through a complex period in our history. Holding a public debate on issues that concern society will give the public clarity and confidence in their vote, and will allow for the creation of a transparent and accountable administration, after June 8th.

The council ignore resident concerns and is intent on pressing forward despite the transformation of our Winchmore hill into an ugly, congested, concrete jungle with decimated natural beauty and failing business. Enfield council presented false statements and visual plans of green lanes in their 'consultation for the cycle lane scheme - on the drawings no mention was made of tearing up and ripping out ten mature trees along our green lanes to date - and more to come.The residents of Winchmore hill did not agree to the replacement of beautiful mature trees with grey slabs of concrete - 'improving public spaces ' in the council's words. No effort has been made to protect the trees at all despite claims to the contrary . Worryingly letters have been put in local communications to inform residents of more trees 'necessary' to be removed . These were not presented as needing removal in the 'consultation' plans. We live in Winchmore hill because we chose to live amongst greenery and historical mature trees.

Since the introduction of the Bedroom Tax, affected tenants have been forced to make a series of cutbacks in order to survive on a lower income. The Department for Work and Pensions estimated that 75% had to cut back on their expenditure on food, 46% reduced the amount they spent on heating and 33% spent less on travel. These are cutbacks that are not necessary - the harshness of the Bedroom Tax is the reason for such measures. 14-25% reduction in housing benefit is a large chunk of income to lose, especially when this money is essential to pay bills. Those losing housing benefit struggle to increase income levels after the tax; 50% of affected tenants wished to do this, by either finding employment or increasing their hours at their current employment, yet found difficulty in being able to do this.

A spokesperson for the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) confirmed to the Independent this week that charges would have to be made before the general election on 8 June. However, due to "election rules" the CPS may be unable to make a public announcement about any formal charges. The public may therefore end up being none the wiser if their prospective MP has been charged. There are ongoing electoral fraud investigations against a substantial number of Conservative MPs. Not only do these allegations have pointed implications for this election, but there are also wider lessons on campaign spending that still need to be learnt. Just last month the Electoral Commission handed out the largest fine in its history - £70,000 - to the Conservatives for violating electoral law. This came after a 13-month long investigation into the party’s campaign spending during by-elections in 2014 and the general election in 2015. Far from this record fine marking the end of the saga, criminal charges are at this very moment being considered by the Crown Prosecution Service against at least 30 individuals in the Conservative party. Many of them are currently MPs, many of them will be candidates in this election, and many of them could be re-elected. Mid & South Essex 'Success' Regime are planning to cut £400m funding to the local NHS under their 'Sustainability and Transformation Plan'. One of the options being considered is the closure of Basildon A&E department. This could mean having to travel to Southend or Broomfield for emergency treatment.

These ads are an affront to democracy. In 2015 the Conservative Party bought wraparound front page adverts in newspapers in key marginal seats, including the Lancaster Guardian, Lincolnshire Echo, Eastbourne Herald and Hastings & St Leonards Observer. This undoubtedly influenced the election result. These ads were designed to look like editorial so it appeared that the newspapers were endorsing the political party. This petition is aimed at all political parties and not just the Conservatives. This advertising must stop. It is undemocratic and a threat to the integrity of the press.
