• Traffic calming measures on A647 Pudsey
Since the reconfiguration of the A647 Leeds/Bradford Road there has been an increase in reports of very dangerous driving. Drivers regularly speed up and down the length of the road from Bradford to Leeds and back again, turning at the roundabout at Dawson's Corner. Drivers also regularly jump the pedestrian lights outside the Woodhall post office and there has been several near misses involving local residents including children and babies in prams. The police have been informed on some occasions when we have been able to get car registration numbers, however traffic calming measures are desperately needed before someone gets killed or severely injured.

  • Morfa Bychan Access - Byway open to all Traffic
Although many people prefer to walk the mile long byway others are unable to, disabled access to this public amenity must be re instated. Others affected include families with young children, fishermen, climbers, canoeists, in fact as there is no public parking on the road just about anyone who would like to visit.

  • Bring back school or college transport for post 16 disabled chidren
This is important because disabled children have a right to education .However parents are having to give up their jobs to take their children to the closest suitable facility which is often a long distance away because our children are very vulnerable and cant just catch a bus .Many parents can only work part time due to the extra demands of a disabled chid and are exhausted. we must make the government back track on this new legislation .

  • Keep the Mount Pleasant bus as an hourly service
It's not fair to leave the older generation on the estate without the freedom of this hourly service. Often they only need to pop into town and then return on the hourly bus. To have to wait 2 hours for a return bus is unacceptable.

  • No Tesco at Whitton/London Road Twickenham
Twickenham High Street has a high turnover of shops, and the dreaded 'Twickenham Refurbishment' sees many small independent shops constantly close down. Another Tesco is not required on the parade killing the few small independent shops that are already established at that end of the high street. What is needed in Twickenham is variety of shops to bring a higher social impact to the community and more people to the high street. This is not a good location for a Tesco which will have an adverse affect on traffic and noise for local residential neighbours. Numerous alternatives exist that would better serve the local community and strengthen its economy in these tough financial times. There are already 5 other Tesco's within a short distance of the proposed location. When the planning application is received, planning officers must notify the public or neighbours, and consult with other council departments and any other affected people or organisations. The statutory consultation period is three weeks. I will post the link here when the application has been added to the online planning portal. If there are issues of concern, the planning department will instigate a review meeting within six weeks of registration of the application and identify amendments that could address any issue or problems.

  • A New Zebra Crossing in Tattershall on High Street
There is nowhere safe to cross the road in Tattershall. There is a steady flow of traffic and not everyone slows down when they reach the village. Children, Elderly and other members of the community often have to negotiate their way across traffic just to do simple daily things like going to school or going to the shops. I am proposing a Zebra crossing this has several benefits. Our children, our elderly and ourselves will have somewhere safe to cross the road. Traffic around the schools will slow down cutting out the risk of any serious incidents. Because High Street is a major route for a vast number of trucks and farming vehicles with a zebra crossing this will still allow a steady flow of traffic and will only slow down when the crossing is used. I personally don't want to wait for a serious accident or even a casualty before anything is done about this.

  • Save our Disabled Children's Transport
Coventry Council are making the families of disabled children pay £600 a year for transport to and from school. This service used to be free, but now families are being forced to fork out. The wellbeing and education of disabled children is being put at risk. Disabled children should not be punished for going to school.

  • Make Boness Road Safe for our community
    1. On completion of the new Queensferry Crossing this road became a main thoroughfare into and out of South Queensferry 2. Both Transport Scotland and Edinburgh Council have failed to recognise this and failed to put measures in place to ensure road safety for the community. 3. It has Echline Primary School on it. Children cross the road to get to and from school and also cross after school for clubs and recreation. Echline has an open playground policy so children also cross at evenings and weekends to play, visit friends in the adjacent housing estates and to use Echline playpark. 4. The road currently has a 30mph limit, except for a small 20mph zone outside the school, which operates only at drop off and pick up times. Edinburgh Council chose not to implement the new 20mph safe zone along this road and will not review their decision until some time in 2018. 5. The road is wide with inadequate speed limit signage 6. The road will see increased volumes of traffic 7. Large vehicles will use the road; coach tours, double decker buses and lorries 8. Vehicles will have been travelling at speed on the motorway system prior to entering this residential area
