The Council intend to change the green belt to brown belt in a small quaint rural village at Broomhill in Barnsley. We want to stop the application to build on our green belt. The effect this will have on our village and the abundance of wild life will be catastrophic. Both residents and visitors alike enjoy the countryside that surrounds us from dog walkers, bird watchers to ramblers. Our wild life play a big part in making our village an attraction to all. The influx of traffic and housing would be devastating. We have an abundance of squirrels, rabbits, foxes, owls and bats to name a few not to mention an extremely large variety of birds. The surrounding wetlands attracts, swans, geese, ducks, coots and a variety of other wild life. To build on our green belt would be devastating to the wild life not to mention the residents who have enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of living in the countryside.

We as a community have come together and want each and every one of our voices heard and this matter investigated!!!! We feel that the police have not fulfilled their lawful duty to a member of the public who is a law abiding citizen. This lady reported her dog missing in 2016 from Barry in the vale of glamorgan. She had obeyed the law and had her bichon called max microchipped and registered in her name. She followed all the right procedures when he went missing, He was reported to all the relevant authorities and his microchip was flagged as missing. He is on the doglost website aswell as an abundance of missing dog groups on the internet. This lady aswell as numerous dog groups and their thousands of members have endlessly searched and followed up every possible lead and sighting etc into his whereabouts. She has tirelessly searched for her dog since the day he went missing. A few days ago even though he's been flagged as missing she discovered he has been re registered to someone else. The chip company refuse to pass on the new keepers details and the police say it's a civil matter so won't help her. We stand together with her and feel this is a huge injustice not just to her but to every single pet owner out there!!! We want the police to investigate this matter and are hugely appalled by their lack of interest in this case. This is not a civil matter But is either firstly theft in its own right or it's theft by finding. Either way it's a criminal offence. Also we feel by the chip company and the police by protecting the (CRIMINAL),S identity when they are not the real owners of this animal but who are in fact handling stolen goods makes both the police and the chip company guilty of aiding and abetting a criminal act. You as the police have a duty of care to us members of the public and we are calling on you to do just that. We want our rights as pet owners protected. We will not stop until max is returned to his rightful owner and will share his story all over the media aswell as follow complaint procedures. Please Take note of the number of people that have signed this and do your job please do whats right in the eyes of the law by stopping this injustice and protect the victim in all this not the criminal. Get max home where he belongs Make a stand so other dog thieves think twice in future. It's important because our pets are not inanimate worthless objects. They are our family members. Pet theft is a huge problem and the police need to treat it the same as any other crime.

The Home Office quietly announced, without debate in Parliament, that West Yorkshire Police will be rolling out on-the-spot fingerprint scanning on 10th Feb 2018. The checks will include UK Border Agency and Criminal Records databases. Over 30yrs ago I was fined for a minor offence and my fingerprints were recorded at the time. If I were to encounter a stop-and-scan check whilst with my boss or an important customer, they would be able to tell instantly that I had a criminal record, and even if I wasn't fired I'd be looked at unfairly for promotion. Worse still, with UK Border Agency database checks, we know that the Police will disproportionately target ethnic minorities. We have seen how incompetent the UKBA are at dealing with EU applications for permanent residency, and you can be sure that many legal EU citizens will be falsely arrested during these stops. PACE (the Police and Criminal Evidence Act) s61 currently states that the Police can only take your fingerprints without consent after you've been arrested or you're caught red-handed. However, by virtue of having these scanners the Police will intimidate people into giving consent. 1. The pedestrian refuge at Backbarrow, although offering some protection and enables pedestrians to cross one half of the road at a time, it’s a place where people are very vulnerable with traffic roaring past at 60mph. Pedestrians are still at considerable risk of injury or death should a vehicle collide with it whilst they stand there waiting to cross. There have been at least two occasions in the past where vehicles have crashed into it, luckily no-one has been standing there at the time. 2. 60mph is far too fast, and we’re concerned that drivers are currently exceeding the national speed limit. Cameras need to be installed to enforce the new speed limit of 40 mph. 3. The pavements. particularly at Backbarrow are very narrow and pedestrians are forced to walk close to passing traffic which practically brush their shoulders, suck them in and blow them out again as they whoosh past - 60mph is far too fast. It only takes 30 seconds more to travel at 40 mph on the one mile stretch between Haverthwaite and Backbarrow. 4. The dual carriageway section at Haverthwaite is dangerous because it encourages drivers to increase their speed and take risks where there are junctions and bends to be negotiated. 5. Current lighting and signage is inadequate and drivers aren’t aware of the junctions and crossings in place. Pedestrians and drivers put their lives at risk every day. It’s time to take action and make improvements before someone else is seriously injured or killed.  We believe our proposals, are not unreasonable. 6. The community of Backbarrow are deeply saddened and angry that there’s been yet another incident recently which has cut short the life of a well liked, lovely friend and neighbour. Without the reduction in the speed limit to 40mph and the other changes we are proposing, there will be further incidents and loss of life – it’s only a matter of time.

Over the year 2016-2017 nearly 174,000 allegations were closed and 149,450 (86%) of tip offs were incorrect allegations. Over the financial years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 332,850 cases were closed following reports by members of the public (of benefit fraud). Of these 287,950 were found to have no or little evidence to substantiate the claim (87%) We need to stop the culture of hunting out benefit fraud, as most of the time the allegations are incorrect. Going through this process has a detrimental effect on disabled and chronically ill people’s mental and physical health. We believe that if the public are to remain involved in reporting on alleged benefit fraud then they should not be allowed to do this anonymously and should have to give at least their name and national insurance number. This will help to make people think about their actions before picking up the phone, will help to reduce bogus allegations, and will make improvements to this culture of thinking people on benefits are scrounges and that disabled/chronically ill people are faking (when in fact they are probably faking being well most of the time). If someone is found to be a serial malicious reporter then they should be fined and banned from giving tip offs again. The general public have a slim view and understanding of what disability/chronic illness ‘looks like’ resulting in more reports of benefit fraud and disabled/chronically ill people being scared to leave the house for fear they’ll be reported increasing isolation in communities and fears that your neighbour is spying on your every move. Let’s stop feeding this narrative. Please help us make some positive changes to the benefits system. Together we rise! We were all disgusted when Gloucester City Council put up these posters in Gloucester suggesting people should not give to those sleeping rough on the streets and suggesting they have accommodation. The posters were clearly a 'prelude' to the introduction of Public Space Protection Orders in Gloucester (PSPO's). In other parts of the country, these are being used to 'socially cleanse' cities and towns of rough sleepers so that they are essentially 'banned' from certain areas. Rough sleepers can also face fines if found in these areas. PSPO's give councils the power to remove people for non criminal behavior and the latest Home office advice (December 2017) states that PSPO's should not be used to target rough sleepers. This is a cruel and ill thought out approach to solving homelessness in Gloucester . In Gloucester many vulnerable people have no accommodation and due to 'ideological' cuts to funding, they have little, if any support when they're on the streets. By introducing PSPO's, the council will only move the problem, but not solve it. What's more, the most obvious solution would be for Gloucester City Council to open more shelters and open buildings that they already own for the homeless as there is nowhere near enough accommodation available in Gloucester.

Road access and road travel is important - spend some money on positive maintenance of the road surfaces to make leisure and business travel a safer, cheaper and more enjoyable experience. Claims against Lancashire County Council and Rossendale Borough Council due to damage to vehicles because of poorly maintained road surfaces will only increase financial pressures on councils.

Lickey Hills was gifted to the people of Birmingham by the Cadbury family so workers could enjoy free access to open spaces. The government want to encourage people to exercise more a d Lickey Hills is a great place to go for walks and family outings. Imposing car park charges will discourage locals and visitors, with a negative impact on the health of the local community and minimal financial gain for the council. This policy is flawed and short sighted

Bristol Airport has a new planning application for a 50% expansion and a 59% increase* in their climate-changing carbon emissions. This would mean big impacts locally in Chew Valley, North Somerset and South Bristol. But there's still time to stop it: we have time to object to the planning application. The scale of their expansion proposal is alarming. It would mean 97,000 flights per year - one every three minutes. This includes 4000 night flights, leading to incessant noise and disruption of sleep. As well as more congestion, pollution and parking spaces approved on green belt land. Our planet needs protecting against the dangerous effects of climate change, but Bristol Airport’s plans fly in the face of this. In King's Lynn, one of only two local residential respite units which supports many children with disabilities and Complex Needs has been earmarked for other usage. The remaining unit has only four beds and cannot accommodate all the children affected by this decision. Although Norfolk have a legal obligation to provide short breaks for disabled children, the council has still decided to shut it down. Residential Respite such as Morley House is essential to the well-being of these disabled children (who have already been assessed as needing the highest level of support) and their families who depend on the time to give other siblings or family members support, and access parts of everyday life (such as shopping, medical appointments and household maintenance it is difficult or impossible to do safely while caring for their disabled child). They allow children to make friends and try activities and days out which other children take for granted. Without access to Morley House, many of these children will be denied what every child should have, a life with friends where they can enjoy experiences in a safe environment with people who can understand and support them. In addition to the use as a residential respite unit, Morley House is also used to house educational boarders from the local Complex Needs School. This provision is part of their education. For my family and many others Morley House is a lifeline, the only place we know our child is safe and well looked after which enables us to relax and meet the needs of our younger child and give her the everyday experiences we cannot safely provide while caring for our older daughter, daytrips to the beach or even visits to the homes of family and friends are impossible apart from the times our older daughter is in respite. We need your support to reverse this decision and ensure our children and the many children who will come after ours still have access to this essential service.
