Do Not Ban XL bullys, punish the ownersI think if everyone comes together we can save a dog breed in which there are a lot more of these dogs that live their lives as a happy family pet than there are ones who attack people. We need to pull together and stop dog breeds getting punished just because of bad owners14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Dunn

Protect Torquay Pavilion + Emergency Repairs Now!Torquay Pavilion is a much-loved asset that has been cherished for generations since it opened in 1912. People power prevented its planned demolition by the Council in the 1970s. The Community has fought again for its future since the Pavilion's long-term leaseholder, MDL Marinas, closed it as a shopping centre in 2013. Working hard to take successful legal action against the Council in 2018, the Community defeated a damaging, barely viable and unlawfully-permitted scheme incorporating the building. People power is needed once more to ensure that the building survives.2,383 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Paul Fraser

Stop importing invasive species!Invasive non-native species are one of the biggest threats to biodiversity. Now, one of the world's most invasive species, the Red Imported Fire Ant (Solenopsis invicta) has arrived in Europe and scientists estimate it's only a matter of time before it is devastating native fauna and causing loss and costs to agriculture. The UK remains one of the last island nations to import soils and potted plants containing soils. In doing so, it is importing an increased risk. Asian Hornets, Fire Ants, terrestrial flatworms, slugs and snails are all species found in potted plants and soils. Their small size and ability to bury in to the soil means that they arrive unseen, even if the plant itself is checked. The only conceivable way to ensure species are not being readily imported is to reciprocate action seen elsewhere and ban the imports of soil and plants containing soil.6,164 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Paul Hetherington

DON’T TAKE FROM PENSIONS TO FUND TAX CUTSIt looks like the Government could take from pensioner’s incomes to fund tax cuts while we’re all facing a cost of living crisis. Even if your income doesn’t come from a pension right now, this could be the beginning of slashing people’s protections to make the rich richer. The Government’s refusal to say they’ll protect people from pension poverty is all over the news, but right now this is just an idea they’re floating to see if they could get away with it. They could change their minds if they realise this could cost them the next election. We need to act now. If thousands of us sign the petition, it will show the Government that if they want to stay in power, they can’t take from us all to give to the rich.56,737 of 75,000 Signatures

Introduce a Railcard for Social Care WorkersSocial Care Workers do one of the most difficult and challenging jobs in our society and I believe that introducing this Railcard would not only encourage others to join this demanding but rewarding career, it would also go a long way in acknowledging these workers and showing appreciation for their role.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Teresa Hackett

Wheelchair users can’t get taxisMaybe people are not aware of how few cabs take disabled passengers that are not able to get out of their chairs. There are hardly any. All the cost effectiveness has been removed from local governments certainly in Kidderminster? Bromsgrove and Redditch and probably nationwide.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Beverley Worboys

No US nuclear weapons on UK soilThe US Government wants to put their nuclear weapons back on British soil for the first time in 15 years. The plans "strongly imply" the intention to base nuclear arms at Lakenheath in Suffolk, which last hosted them in 2008. The plans have already angered campaigners with many claiming such a move would be irresponsible and put the UK at risk. The good news is, right now the idea is still in the planning phase and nothing is set in stone. But we need to make sure the UK Government listens to us, the British public's view on the matter. Sign the petition if you agree that the public should be consulted on whether the UK should host America's nuclear weapons?25,549 of 30,000 Signatures

Protect British family farms from unfair treatment by supermarketsThe future of British food and farming is at risk, with many small family farms worried that they won’t be in business by the next generation – or even by next year. Is this what we want for our food system, and our countryside? Farmers don’t just feed us; they are also custodians of the land. But they cannot keep going if they are denied commitment and security, and are not making a reasonable profit. We must create a fairer, more sustainable future – one which supports family farms, preserves rural communities, and ensures access to quality British food for generations to come.14 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Victoria Holmes

Petition for the Removal of Ian Levy as MPThe importance of the ability to remove a Member of Parliament (MP) or elected representative from office is rooted in several fundamental principles of democracy and good governance: Accountability: The ability to remove an MP ensures that elected officials remain accountable to the people they represent. It serves as a crucial check on their actions and conduct during their tenure in office. Representation: Elected officials are expected to represent the interests and values of their constituents. If an MP is not effectively fulfilling this role, the constituents should have a means to address the issue and seek a more suitable representative. Democratic Values: Democracy thrives on the principle of popular sovereignty, meaning that political power ultimately rests with the people. Allowing constituents to remove their elected representatives reinforces this foundational democratic concept. Ethical Conduct: Elected officials are held to certain ethical standards and codes of conduct. The ability to remove an MP in cases of unethical or unlawful behavior helps maintain the integrity of the political system. Trust in Government: When constituents perceive that their elected representatives are responsive, accountable, and act in their best interests, it fosters trust in the government and the democratic process itself. Preventing Abuse of Power: The threat of removal acts as a deterrent against abuses of power or corruption by elected officials. Knowing that they can be held accountable encourages MPs to act in a manner consistent with their constituents' expectations. Adaptation to Changing Circumstances: Circumstances may change over time, and the electorate's preferences may evolve. Allowing for the removal of MPs provides a mechanism to adapt to these changes and ensure that the representation remains current and relevant. Conflict Resolution: In situations where an MP's actions or statements create divisions or conflicts within the constituency, the possibility of removal can offer a peaceful and democratic means of resolving these disputes. In summary, the ability to remove an MP is an essential aspect of democratic governance that empowers citizens to hold their elected representatives accountable, safeguard democratic values, and ensure that those in office act in the best interests of the people they serve. It serves as a vital component of a functioning democracy and helps maintain public trust in the political system.35 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen Green
