• Force a UK General Election by signing this petition as a vote of no confidence in the UK Government
The UK is desperately crying out for change. The current UK Government is riddled with economic incompetence, negligence with the NHS, broken promises and scandals. It is time the public were given a say to start afresh. The current UK Government consists of incompetence over the economy, the mishandling of the cost of living crisis, mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic, negligence with the NHS, broken promises after broken promises and scandals after scandals. The UK Government is trying to withhold the truth and cover up its failures with regards to the the Covid-19 pandemic. The current UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is more than happy to give the former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson what he wants by saying yes to the former UK Prime Minister’s honours list. This is totally wrong on all aspects because the former UK Prime Minister is under multiple investigations. It is time the UK public were given a say on whether they want the current UK Government to continue or to start afresh with a General Election.

  • Government need to implement a cap on Adult Social Care costs NOW!
Now, following publication of its ‘next steps’ document on 4 April 2023, many of the remaining measures from the White Paper have been cut back or even abandoned. Most notably, a key promise of at least £500 million to be spent on workforce training, qualifications and wellbeing has been cut to £250 million, and a promised £300 million to transform housing options has been replaced by £102 million for smaller in-home adaptations. Spending on innovation and improvement has also been cut back, though investment in digital has emerged largely untouched and there are very small pots for carer support, international recruitment and volunteers. This reduction in spending is particularly disappointing because it comes at a time when all the trends on adult social care are going in the wrong direction: more people are asking for support but fewer are getting it; workforce vacancies are at an all-time high and public satisfaction with social care is at its lowest ever. In September 2021 Boris Johnson's government announced a proposed cap of £86,000 to be introduced for Adult Social Care in England from October 2023. This means the cap on personal care costs will place a limit on the costs that people will need to spend to meet their eligible care and support needs. Meaning you will never pay any more that £86,000 over your lifetime. It was labelled a “watershed moment” and the “biggest shakeup in a generation”. We have now learned that Rishi Sunak's government has postponed the introduction of the proposed cap until 2025. However, in recent months – and following two changes of prime minister – reform has entirely stalled. In its November 2022 Autumn Statement, the government announced that the cap and means test reforms would be postponed until October 2025. With a general election to be held no later than January 2025, therefore there is a significant risk that these reforms are never implemented. Please help me get this reform brought in force now. Thank you.

  • Protect Animals - pass the Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill as promised
The bill was intended to: 1. Fulfill the Government’s promise to stop live animal exports for slaughter and fattening 2. Introduce powers to improve animal welfare by ending cruel practices such as puppy smuggling and the keeping of primates as pets. It is important for animals because of the conditions so many animals are kept in when exported for slaughter and fattening and when puppy farmed. It is important for people, who often buy sick or misrepresented puppies in good faith and they become family members before their diseases and early mistreatment show. It is important for people because animals sent overseas should not be part of our food chain but it is impossible to trace what happens to them. It is important for the Government because it was in their manifesto.

  • Stop the Lydden Road development
Lydden Road has been the location for light industry since the early 20th century. And the redevelopment of local light industrial sites is inevitable. But Earlsfield is a highly populated residential area that continues to grow: there are new residential developments in progress next to the same site! Allowing round-the-clock HGV delivery access, along with the intense outbound delivery traffic that will result from this development, will have a significant impact on this area. Building an 11 meter high warehouse (more than twice the height of the current building - and higher than a two storey house) so close to family homes, is not acceptable to residents on the surrounding streets. We ask the developer to consider and design a compromise which meets the needs of the site, their business plan, AND local residents. We request that the Wandsworth Council planning committee recognise the needs and desires of their residents and withhold approval until this compromise has been reached.

  • Ensure needs of people with Autism are met in any future pandemic response
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many people with Autism in the UK struggled to process and understand information, advice and guidance, if they found any. Appropriate, Autism-suitable information needs to be provided on all platforms - TV, Radio, Newspapers, Leaflets, Websites and Social Media by the UK Government during a health crisis like this. The mental health of many people with Autism has been negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Emerald Insight Survey ‘The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Autistic Adults’ published in February 2021 stated:"72% of respondents reported some or significant deterioration in Mental Health during the pandemic” and said the most negative impacts were the result of “uncertainty and disruption of normal routine”. This needs preventing in a health crisis. Action needs to be taken because it effects so many people, Autistic people themselves, their families, their friends, work colleagues etc. This needs to be made Law, here are my Legislation Proposals I have produced: Legislation to protect people with Autism during a future health crisis Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic there has been a lack of consideration and support by the UK Government for people with Autism. Legislation needs to be put in place to ensure this does not happen again in a future health crisis. 1. Information for Autistic people needs to be in clear straightforward language with short and simple sentences, no abbreviations and jargon. Bullet points and visual images should be used to assist processing and understanding. 2. Information should be provided on the following platforms, TV, Radio, Newspapers, Leaflets, Websites and Social Media. 3. Warnings should be put in place before programmes and advertisements. This would prevent Autistic people being subjected to information which is not delivered in an appropriate way for people with Autism. This would reduce so much confusion, anxiety, distress and panic attacks. The failures which people with Autism in the UK suffered throughout the Covid-19 pandemic must not ever happen again in a future health crisis. Please sign and share. Thank you.

  • Keep the last bank in Cumnock from closing
It's a disgrace that a town the size of Cumnock in East Ayrshire will no longer have any banks as if from February 2024. There were four banks, the last one being the bank of Scotland, who they said, only last year that they won't be closing this branch. Not everyone uses the Internet, and the nearest town with a bank is 14 miles.

  • HRT Supply Shortage
The perimenopause, surgical menopause and premature menopause robs many women of their confidence, self esteem and resilience. It can cause anxiety, relationship breakdowns and the loss of confidence to do a job they may have enjoyed and done well for many years. The lack of HRT in the UK is causing greater worry, stress and anxiety for thousands of women who simply cannot access their prescriptions due to lack of supply. This is despite many being on HRT for months or years. It is time the government recognised the impact the perimenopause and menopause can have on a women's life and support the supply chain through additional funding to meet demand.

  • Winchburgh Train Station Campaign
A new Winchburgh station is a vital missing link which will give Winchburgh people direct access to national train services. You can read more about why it is important below. Growing Population: Winchburgh has been experiencing population growth in recent years. As the population increases, the demand for efficient transportation options also rises. A railway station would provide residents with improved access to public transportation, making it easier for them to commute to work, school, or other destinations. Connectivity: Winchburgh's current transportation infrastructure is limited. A railway station would connect the village to the broader rail network, enabling residents to travel to nearby towns and cities more easily. This enhanced connectivity can have positive effects on the local economy by attracting businesses, promoting tourism, and facilitating trade. Commuting to Edinburgh and Glasgow: Winchburgh is situated between the major cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, both of which are significant economic and cultural hubs. A railway station in Winchburgh would provide residents with a convenient transportation option for commuting to these cities for work, education, or leisure activities. This can reduce road congestion, encourage sustainable travel, and enhance overall regional connectivity. Development and Regeneration: Winchburgh is currently undergoing significant development and regeneration projects. The construction of a railway station can be part of these initiatives, serving as an essential infrastructure component to support the planned growth. It can attract new residents, businesses, and investments to the area, creating a more vibrant and sustainable community. Environmental Considerations: Promoting sustainable transportation options is becoming increasingly important to mitigate the environmental impact of commuting. By introducing a railway station, Winchburgh can encourage more people to use public transport instead of relying on private vehicles. This can help reduce carbon emissions, air pollution, and overall traffic congestion in the region. Sue Webber MSP will continue to work with the Scottish Government and West Lothian council to make this project a priority.

  • AI impact on 68% of jobs (white collar) and economy.
Can you imagine a near future where every white-collar job can be done by AI? In the UK 68% of jobs are white collar. Our economy is a pyramid where lower tiered economic activity depends on higher tiers being able to afford their products and services. Although AI will be a gold mine for the companies that adopt it, it will also lay waste to white collar jobs and has the potential to collapse 68% of the job market. The great depression hit 25% unemployment and lead to the rise of Hitler and Stalin, what might an AI fuelled future with mass unemployment and false information produce. We have not let AI drive cars yet because best car AI are only 99.9% reliable. We are releasing AI online and into the job market now, without any regulation and the AI is known to be unreliable, bias drifting and hallucinatory yet we are going to let it take our jobs and drive our economy.

  • Opposition to the development of Fleet Road Community Car Park
We, the residents of Fleet Road Farnborough, and surrounding areas, vehemently oppose the proposed development of houses on the residents' car park between the Scout Hut and 13 Fleet Road, and we would like to bring your attention to several key objections: Environmental Impact: Constructing houses on this car park would harm the local environment, depriving residents of valuable open space that contributes to their well-being and quality of life. Legal Concerns: Changing the land use from a car park to housing raises significant legal issues, potentially breaching planning regulations and policies governing land use in Rushmoor. Land Ownership Dispute: There may be a dispute over the ownership of the land, as the council unilaterally assumed ownership without notifying or consulting the residents who believed they had legal rights to it. This situation requires a thorough investigation. Lack of Transparency: The council's actions in taking ownership without proper communication or engagement with affected residents undermine trust and violate our rights. Principles of transparency and due process must be upheld. Health and Safety Risks: Constructing houses without considering health and safety implications could lead to increased traffic congestion, limited emergency access, compromised pedestrian safety, and heightened pollution levels. Considering these objections, I urge Rushmoor Borough Council to reconsider the proposal and prioritize the preservation of open spaces, compliance with planning regulations, resolution of ownership disputes, and the safety and well-being of residents. We kindly request a thorough assessment of the potential impacts and legal ramifications, along with open dialogue with affected residents and exploration of alternative solutions that preserve the car park. This would demonstrate the council's commitment to the community's best interests. Thank you for your attention to these concerns. We trust that Rushmoor Borough Council will act responsibly in line with environmental sustainability, legal compliance, and the well-being of its constituents.
